A Hotel X Toronto car service picks up at 111 Princes' Boulevard, Exhibition Place. Pearson is about 24 km away, typically 20 to 35 minutes via the Gardiner and Highway 427, and Billy Bishop about 3 km. On BMO Field game days, CNE days and big shows, book ahead and let the dispatcher set the pickup point. TorontoBlackLimousine.com shows the fixed fare before you confirm.
Hotel X Toronto stands inside Exhibition Place, the lakeside grounds that hold BMO Field, the Enercare Centre and the Automotive Building (formerly Beanfield Centre / Allstream Centre). Our waterfront hotels car service page covers this hotel alongside the Harbourfront hotels. This post is about the thing that makes Hotel X different from any other hotel in the city: the calendar outside its front door, and how that calendar changes the timing of every car you book.

How does a Hotel X Toronto car service work on a normal day?
On a quiet weekday, Hotel X is one of the easiest downtown-area hotels to leave by car. You book in our reservation engine with "Hotel X Toronto" or the address, choose a vehicle and see a fixed, all-in fare before you confirm. The chauffeur reaches the hotel through the Exhibition Place grounds, waits at the entrance and messages you the vehicle details. From there the Gardiner Expressway is a minute away, and Highway 427 leads straight north to the Pearson terminals. Of all the central hotels, this one has among the shortest drives to the airport, because it sits at the western edge of the core.
How far is Hotel X from the airports and downtown?
| From Hotel X Toronto to | Distance | Typical drive | Event-day effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ), T1 or T3 | about 24 km | 20–35 min | First kilometre can take 15 min |
| Billy Bishop (YTZ), Eireann Quay | about 3 km | 8–15 min | Lake Shore and Bathurst slow in summer |
| Union Station | about 5 km | 10–20 min | Gardiner exits jam before games |
| Financial District | about 5 km | 12–20 min | Mostly unaffected |
| Yorkville | about 7 km | 15–25 min | Mostly unaffected |
| Niagara Falls | about 125 km | 85–110 min | QEW busy on summer Fridays |
Which events make Exhibition Place busy?
These are the ones the dispatcher watches, with typical timing. Always check the year's dates on the official sites:
- Toronto FC and Argonauts home games at BMO Field, from spring into the autumn; see BMO Field's schedule.
- The Canadian National Exhibition, usually late August to Labour Day, the busiest stretch of the year on the grounds; see the CNE's site.
- Trade and consumer shows at the Enercare Centre and the Automotive Building through the autumn, winter and spring, including the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in November.
- Concerts at the RBC Amphitheatre (formerly Budweiser Stage) at Ontario Place, just across Lake Shore Boulevard, in the summer.
The street race that used to run around the grounds each July has moved: the Honda Indy runs in Markham from 2026, so July is calmer at Exhibition Place than it used to be.
How should I time an airport run on a game day?
Work backwards from the event, not just the flight. Gates at BMO Field open well before kick-off, and the roads into the grounds fill for the hour before and the hour after. If your Pearson pickup falls in either window, the dispatcher will suggest one of three fixes: leave before the inbound crowd, wait until the outbound crowd thins, or meet the car at an agreed point outside the grounds on a road the event traffic does not use. For an international departure the normal rule still applies, about three hours before the flight, so a 7:00 p.m. flight on a 4:30 p.m. match day means leaving at 3:45 p.m. at the latest, ahead of the crowd.
What does a game night look like with an hourly chauffeur?
For a client night at a Toronto FC or Argonauts game, an hourly chauffeur gives you one car from a 3-hour minimum:
- 5:00 p.m. Pickup at a downtown office or hotel.
- 5:30 p.m. Dinner in Liberty Village, a few minutes north of the grounds.
- 7:00 p.m. Drop-off at the closest open gate approach; the chauffeur parks away from the stadium.
- 9:45 p.m. Final whistle; you message the chauffeur and walk to the agreed pickup point.
- 10:15 p.m. Drop-off back at the hotel or home.
Guests staying at Hotel X can simply walk to BMO Field and back; the car matters for everyone else in the group. See our posts on match day at BMO Field and getting home from RBC Amphitheatre concerts.

How does the CNE change pickups at Hotel X?
During the Canadian National Exhibition the grounds become a fairground with paid admission, and vehicle access across Exhibition Place is managed. Hotel guests and their cars still come and go, but routes inside the grounds may change from day to day, and the Princes' Gates and Strachan Avenue approaches are heavily used by pedestrians. The dispatcher checks the current access plan before your pickup and sends a precise meeting point. If you are flying out during the CNE, add 20 minutes to your normal departure buffer. Our CNE car service page covers fair-time trips in more detail.
What about delegates at the Enercare Centre and Automotive Building?
Delegates staying at Hotel X are a short walk from the Enercare Centre and Exhibition Place halls and the Automotive Building, which is a large part of the hotel's appeal for show weeks. The car is useful for the other parts of a show week: client visits in Mississauga or Markham, dinners downtown and airport runs on move-out day, when everyone tries to leave at once. Exhibitors with sample cases and displays should book an SUV or a Sprinter luxury van. Our trade show transportation service plans multi-car arrivals and departures for teams.
Can I take the train from Hotel X instead?
There are rail options, and they suit some travellers. Exhibition GO station, on the Lakeshore West line, is at the northern edge of the grounds; GO trains run east to Union Station and west towards Oakville and Hamilton. From Union, the UP Express reaches Pearson Terminal 1 in about 28 minutes. For a light traveller with time to spare that is a fair choice. For anyone with checked bags, children, a Terminal 3 flight or a tight schedule, the direct car is simpler: about 24 km, one vehicle, curb to curb.
Which vehicle should I book from Hotel X?
| Party | Vehicle class | Seats / large bags | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| One or two travellers | Business sedan | 2 / 2 | Airport runs, meetings |
| VIP guest or talent | First-class sedan | 2 / 2 | Discreet arrivals, event nights |
| Family or sports bags | Premier luxury SUV | 6 / 4 | Luggage, strollers, winter |
| Team or exhibitor crew | Executive Sprinter | 7 seats | Show days, client visits |
| Wedding or group | Sprinter luxury van | 12 seats | Group arrivals and nights out |
Where exactly does the chauffeur meet guests?
At the hotel's entrance on Princes' Boulevard on normal days. On event days, when access across the grounds is managed or crowds fill the boulevard, the chauffeur may meet you at an agreed point nearby and will send a map pin. Allow a few minutes' walk in that case. For accessibility needs, tell the dispatcher at booking: chauffeurs fold and stow wheelchairs and walkers for passengers who can transfer to a seat, and our wheelchair-accessible vehicle can be booked in advance; describe the wheelchair or scooter when you book.
What is a winter stay at Hotel X like for car pickups?
From December to March the grounds are quieter, apart from the big winter shows, and the hotel feels like a lakeside resort in the city. The lake wind is the thing to plan for: Exhibition Place is exposed, and walking from the hotel to a car parked down the boulevard is not pleasant in a squall. Our cars run winter tires from November to April, and the chauffeur warms the cabin and waits at the entrance so you step straight from the lobby into the car. On snowy mornings the dispatcher checks Ontario 511, moves Pearson pickups earlier and messages you the evening before. Families with car seats should choose an SUV in winter for the room to buckle children in quickly out of the cold.
Is Billy Bishop a good choice from Hotel X?
For short-haul flights, it is one of the most convenient airport runs in the city. Cars drop off at the mainland pavilion on Eireann Quay at the foot of Bathurst Street, about 3 km east along Lake Shore Boulevard, and passengers cross to the island by the pedestrian tunnel or the short ferry, as the Billy Bishop airport site explains. Allow extra time on summer weekends, when Lake Shore and the Bathurst approach fill with beach and waterfront traffic.
What changes the fare from Hotel X?
There are no prices on this site. The reservation engine shows the full fixed fare before you confirm, covering the chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR tolls on the planned route, airport fees and gratuity, with HST shown separately. The fare depends on vehicle class, distance and time, extra stops, waiting beyond the included allowance, add-ons available at booking, and the date and hour, including event days when the trip takes longer. See how our fares work for each factor.
How does a Westin Harbour Castle stay compare?
The two big waterfront hotels sit at opposite ends of the lakeshore. Hotel X is closer to Pearson and next to the event grounds; the Westin is beside the island ferries and a short walk from Union Station. Our Westin Harbour Castle to Pearson post covers the eastern end in the same detail, and the Hotel X site has the hotel's own guest information.
Can the travel desk plan the trip around an event?
Yes. Our travel desk works with BookingWorldwide.net to put flights, the hotel and the chauffeured transfers on one itinerary, which helps sports teams, exhibitors and wedding parties who are planning around a fixed event date. The car can be booked on its own at any time.
What if the event runs late or I need to cancel?
With an hourly booking, extra time is added in 30-minute blocks if the match goes to extra time or the encore runs long; just message the chauffeur. Cancelling more than 72 hours before pickup is free; 72 hours or less is 10 %, 48 hours or less is 50 %, and 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100 %.
