A CNE Toronto limo from TorontoBlackLimousine.com is a chauffeured sedan, SUV or Sprinter that takes you to Exhibition Place and brings you home. The grounds are about 4 km (10–20 min) from Union Station and 25 km (25–40 min) from Pearson. Most families book an hourly chauffeur (3-hour minimum) so the car waits nearby; the exact fixed fare shows before you confirm.
CNE Toronto limo: what exactly are you booking?
You are booking one car and one professional chauffeur for your trip to the Canadian National Exhibition, known to most of the city simply as the Ex. The fair takes over Exhibition Place every summer, and for a family of five or a birthday group of ten the hard part is rarely the rides or the food building; it is getting in and out. A limo to the CNE solves the two worst moments of the day: finding somewhere to leave a car on a crowded August afternoon, and gathering tired children at midnight after the last show. You choose one-way drops, a return pickup, or an hourly booking that keeps the car on call. Every option is booked through our reservation engine at /book/, which shows the fixed, all-in fare before you confirm. No meter, no surge pricing on fireworks night.
When is the CNE, and how long does it run?
The CNE usually runs for about two and a half weeks at the end of summer and closes on Labour Day. The fair's official site, theex.com, lists the next edition as August 20 to September 6, 2027; the 2026 fair has already closed. Dates are set by the organisers, so always check the official site before you book a car, especially for opening night, the air show weekend or Labour Day itself, when the grounds and the roads around them are at their busiest. Our advice from the dispatch desk is simple: pick your day, then book the car the same week you buy your tickets. Late-August weekend evenings fill up quickly for Sprinters and larger SUVs because the CNE overlaps with Blue Jays home games and the last concerts of the season at the waterfront.
How far is the CNE from downtown Toronto and Pearson?
Exhibition Place sits on the lakeshore west of downtown, north of Lake Shore Boulevard West between Strachan Avenue and Dufferin Street, with direct access from the Gardiner Expressway. These are our typical planning figures; the reservation engine quotes the exact fare for your address, date and time.
| From / to Exhibition Place | Distance | Typical drive |
|---|---|---|
| Union Station / Financial District | about 4 km | 10–20 min |
| Yorkville & Midtown | about 8 km | 15–25 min |
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ) | about 25 km | 25–40 min |
| Billy Bishop (YTZ) mainland pavilion | about 3 km | 8–15 min |
| North York | about 17 km | 25–40 min |
| Mississauga (City Centre) | about 27 km | 30–45 min |
| Vaughan | about 33 km | 35–50 min |
| Markham | about 35 km | 35–50 min |
| Oakville | about 36 km | 30–45 min |
| Brampton | about 42 km | 40–55 min |
On CNE weekends the last kilometre is what stretches these times: the Gardiner exits at Jameson and Strachan, and Lake Shore Boulevard in front of the grounds, can crawl at opening and at closing.
Where does the chauffeur drop you off at the CNE?
The CNE's getting-here page names two main entrance areas: the Princes' Gates at the east end near Strachan Avenue and the Dufferin Gate at the west end, plus the TTC loops that serve each side. It does not publish a dedicated drop-off lane for private cars, so we plan the stop the practical way. Your chauffeur picks the side closest to where you want to start (east for the Food Building side of the grounds, west if you are heading to the Dufferin end), approaches from whichever route is flowing, and lets you out where stopping is legal and safe, then clears the curb. We never promise a specific door on this page because the grounds' traffic plan can change from year to year; on the day, your chauffeur follows the posted signs and any direction from traffic staff.
Why hire a limo or black car for the CNE instead of driving?
Parking at Exhibition Place is paid and fills on peak days, and the grounds' own site lists daily lot rates that can add up quickly for a family. Driving yourself also means the designated driver skips the beer garden and fights the same exit queue as thousands of others after the fireworks. A chauffeur removes all of that. The advantages we hear most from families and groups:
- The car goes where you are, not where the last free space was.
- Strollers, a wheelchair that folds, coolers and prize plush toys ride in the trunk, not on your lap on a streetcar.
- Grandparents who find the walk from a distant lot too long are dropped much closer to a gate.
- A group of friends travels together and leaves together, with no one negotiating a ride home at 11 p.m.
- The fixed fare is known before you confirm, so there is no guesswork at the end of the night.
Is an hourly chauffeur better than two one-way rides?
For most CNE visits, yes. A day at the Ex rarely has a fixed finishing time: the kids want one more ride, the show at the bandshell runs late, or you decide to stay for the fireworks. Our hourly chauffeur service in Toronto keeps one car and one chauffeur for you from a 3-hour minimum in a sedan, SUV or Sprinter, with extra time in 30-minute blocks. The chauffeur waits nearby, you send a text when you are heading for the gate, and the car comes back to meet you. Two one-way rides make sense if you know you will stay all day, since a long hourly booking is mostly waiting time. A good rule from our dispatchers: under five hours on the grounds, book hourly; a full day from opening to close, book a drop in the morning and a scheduled pickup at night, with a buffer for the fireworks crowd.
Which vehicle fits a CNE family or group?
Match the vehicle to the number of people and the gear they carry. The classes below are the ones in our reservation engine; see the fleet page for photos and seating.
| Group | Suggested vehicle | Seats / bags |
|---|---|---|
| Couple or a parent and child | Business sedan | 2 / 2 |
| Family of four to six with a stroller | SUV, Yukon XL or Suburban | 6 / 4 |
| Family wanting the flagship | Premier luxury SUV | 6 / 4 |
| Two families together | Executive Sprinter | 7 |
| Birthday group or cousins | Sprinter luxury van | 12 |
| Big celebration | Stretch limousine or party bus, through partners | 8–30 |
Stretch limousines, party buses and coaches are supplied by vetted partner operators in the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network and are booked on the same Toronto account.
Can we take a party bus to the CNE?
Yes. A party bus to the CNE is popular for milestone birthdays and staff outings, and our coordinators arrange 20- and 30-passenger party buses through vetted partners in our network. Two practical notes. First, party buses carry a longer hourly minimum (usually four to five hours), which suits the Ex because you will want the vehicle for the round trip. Second, large vehicles cannot always stop where a sedan can, so the drop point is agreed in advance and may be a short walk from the gate. Alcohol is not allowed on board any of our vehicles, partner party buses included, so drinks stay in the grounds' licensed areas. For groups of 13 or more who simply need seats, a Sprinter or coach is often the calmer choice. Party buses are covered in more detail on our party bus and limo bus page.
What about the CNE air show and fireworks nights?
The air show weekend around Labour Day and any evening with fireworks draw the heaviest crowds of the fair to the waterfront, and the Gardiner and Lake Shore Boulevard slow down accordingly. On those days we add time to every pickup and suggest a meeting point a little away from the busiest gate so your car is not stuck in the same queue as everyone else's. If you are watching from outside the grounds, an hourly chauffeur is the easiest way to move between a viewing spot, dinner and home. Air show and fireworks schedules are set by the organisers each year; check the official CNE site for times before you set your pickup, and tell us at booking so dispatch can plan the route.
How do you plan the pickup after the CNE closes for the night?
The exit is where a chauffeured car earns its keep. Here is how we run a CNE evening pickup:
- At booking, you choose the side of the grounds you expect to leave from, east or west.
- You text the chauffeur when you start walking toward the gate; the fair is large and the walk can take a while with children.
- The chauffeur moves from the waiting area to the agreed pickup point and sends you the exact location.
- Everyone loads, the stroller goes in the back, and the car heads for the Gardiner or Lake Shore depending on traffic.
- On hourly bookings the clock stops when the chauffeur is released at your door; extra time runs in 30-minute blocks.
Included waiting on a scheduled one-way pickup is 15 minutes, then 15-minute blocks, which is why hourly bookings suit open-ended evenings better.
Is the TTC or GO Train a good alternative to a limo for the CNE?
For a couple travelling light, transit is often the simplest way in. The CNE lists TTC streetcars and buses to the Exhibition Loop and Dufferin Gate Loop, and GO Transit's Lakeshore West line stops at Exhibition station, right beside the grounds; check GO Transit and the TTC for current service. A car wins when you are travelling with small children, a grandparent, a wheelchair user who can transfer to a seat, or a group from the suburbs who would otherwise need several transfers. It also wins late at night, when trains and streetcars are packed with fairgoers. Some families do both: GO in, chauffeur home, which is easy to set up as a single evening pickup.
Coming to the CNE from the suburbs or from out of town?
Many of our CNE bookings start well outside downtown. From Vaughan or Markham the drive runs down the 400 or the 404 and the DVP to the Gardiner; from Mississauga, Oakville and Brampton it is the QEW or the 427 onto the Gardiner eastbound. We see families from Mississauga, Vaughan and Markham book a Sprinter so cousins can ride together. If you are flying in for the end-of-summer weekend, a chauffeur can meet you at Pearson and go straight to the grounds or to your hotel first; our Pearson airport limo page explains the curbside pickup at the terminal's pre-arranged area and the optional meet and greet add-on.
Where should out-of-town visitors stay for the CNE?
Downtown hotels near the waterfront and the entertainment district are closest to the grounds, usually a short drive west. See our guides to waterfront hotels and entertainment district hotels for transfer times, and Pearson airport hotels if you have an early flight the next morning. Our travel desk can help with flights, hotel rooms and packages for the CNE weekend, and your chauffeur bookings sit on the same Toronto account.
Can we add Toronto sights to a CNE day?
Yes, and an hourly booking makes it easy. Visitors often pair the Ex with a morning at the CN Tower or Ripley's Aquarium, both a few minutes east near Union Station, or an evening walk along the Toronto Islands and Harbourfront. Keep in mind that late August is also peak season for the rest of the waterfront, so we plan generous gaps between stops. If you are in town for more than one day, a second booking for Blue Jays games or a TIFF screening in early September is common.
Do you provide child seats and accessibility help?
Infant, convertible and booster seats are available at booking; tell us each child's age and weight so the right seat is fitted before pickup. We have a wheelchair-accessible vehicle for anyone who must stay seated in a wheelchair or scooter, available when booked in advance: for passengers who can transfer to a seat, the chauffeur folds and stows the wheelchair or walker. The CNE publishes its own accessibility information on its official site, which is worth reading before the day because it explains services inside the grounds.
How do you book a CNE limo directly?
Book on our reservation engine at /book/ or with the floating Book now button on every page. Enter the pickup address, choose Exhibition Place as the destination (or select hourly), pick the vehicle and the time, and the engine shows the fixed, all-in fare, including the chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, any 407 ETR tolls and gratuity, with HST shown separately. No app, no aggregator commission, one dispatch desk. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; 72 hours or less is 10 %, 48 hours or less 50 %, and 24 hours or less or a no-show 100 %.
