A Toronto to London car service is a private chauffeured car from your Toronto address or Pearson to any address in London, Ontario, about 190 km and 2 to 2.5 hours on Highway 401 west. TorontoBlackLimousine.com drives it in both directions, in sedans, SUVs and Sprinters, and shows the fixed all-in fare in the reservation engine before you confirm.
Toronto to London car service: a two-hour trip done properly
The run from Toronto to London, Ontario is short enough to feel like a commute and long enough to wreck a day if it goes wrong. A Toronto to London limo or black car takes the driving, the parking and the timing off your hands. The chauffeur collects you at your condo, office or hotel, or at the arrivals curb at Pearson, and drives you straight to the London door you named: an office downtown on Dundas Street, a hospital campus, a residence near the university or a family home in Byron or Masonville.
It is one of the most common trips booked through our city-to-city car service, and it runs just as often in the opposite direction, from London into Toronto for flights, meetings, games and shows. People searching for a Toronto to London shuttle usually want exactly this without the shared seats and fixed departure times: one vehicle, your schedule, your group only.
How far is London from downtown Toronto and from Pearson?
These are planning figures from central London. The reservation engine prices your exact addresses, date, time and vehicle.
| Trip | Distance | Typical drive time | Main road |
|---|---|---|---|
| Downtown Toronto (Union Station) to downtown London | about 190 km | 2–2.5 h | Gardiner, 427, 401 west |
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ) to London | about 170 km | 1 h 50 min–2 h 15 min | 401 west |
| Downtown Toronto to London airport (YXU) | about 195 km | 2 h 5 min–2 h 35 min | 401 west |
| London to Stratford | about 60 km | 45–55 min | Highway 7 |
| London to Windsor | about 190 km | about 2 h | 401 west |
| London to Sarnia | about 100 km | 65–80 min | Highway 402 |
Rush hour in Mississauga and Milton is where the time goes. Leaving downtown Toronto at 4:30 p.m. on a Friday can easily add 45 minutes before the 401 clears at Cambridge.
Which road to London: the 401, the 407 or through Hamilton?
Most trips use the 401 west the whole way, through Mississauga, Milton, Cambridge and Woodstock, then into London at Highway 4 (Wellington Road), Highbury Avenue or Veterans Memorial Parkway depending on the address. When the 401 is jammed across Mississauga, the chauffeur may take the tolled 407 ETR as far as its junction with the 401 near Milton; the toll is already in the fare if it is used.
A second option runs through Hamilton on Highway 403, past Brantford, and back onto the 401 at Woodstock. It is useful when there is a closure on the 401 between Milton and Cambridge, or when you have a stop in Hamilton or Brantford on the way. The chauffeur checks Ontario 511 before leaving and chooses on the day; your fixed fare does not change with the route.
Where can you stop between Toronto and London?
Two hours rarely needs a break, but the 401 has ONroute centres if you want one. Westbound toward London there are Cambridge North and Ingersoll; eastbound toward Toronto there are Woodstock and Cambridge South. Each has washrooms, fuel and quick food.
Travellers who prefer a proper coffee or lunch sometimes ask to stop in Woodstock or detour through Stratford, which makes a lovely hour's break. Tell dispatch at booking and the timing is built in.

London to Toronto: meetings, flights and nights out in the city
The reverse trip is just as busy. London residents book a car into Toronto for Bay Street meetings, for Pearson departures, and for games and concerts: the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre, the Leafs and Raptors at Scotiabank Arena, or a musical in the Theatre District. A car avoids the drive home at midnight after a long evening.
For a flight from Pearson, most people leave London about four and a half hours before a domestic or US departure and five and a half hours before an international one. For a night out, book the hourly chauffeur service so the car stays in Toronto and brings you home when the event ends. Our London, Ontario city page covers pickups across London in detail, and there is an article on London Ontario to Pearson car service.
VIA Rail, the bus, driving yourself or a private chauffeur?
Here is a price-free comparison of the realistic ways to travel between Toronto and London.
| Option | Door-to-door time | Luggage | Groups | Working en route |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VIA Rail, Union to London station | about 2.5–3.5 h with transfers | you carry it | one ticket each plus taxis | good on board |
| Flight YYZ to YXU | rarely practical for this distance | airline limits | several tickets | minutes only |
| Intercity bus or shared shuttle | 3–4 h with stops and transfers | limited | crowded | difficult |
| Driving yourself | 2–2.5 h, plus parking | good | one person drives | not for the driver |
| Private chauffeur | 2–2.5 h, no transfers | what the vehicle holds | one vehicle | the whole way |
VIA Rail runs between Union Station and London's downtown station and is a good choice for a solo traveller near either station. A private car is better for families, for trips that begin or end far from the stations, for early flights at Pearson, and for anyone who wants privacy for calls.
Business travel: Toronto to London and back in a day
London has major hospitals, a university research park, insurance head offices and a manufacturing base along the 401, and many Toronto visitors do the trip as a same-day round trip. That is where hourly service beats two one-way transfers. The same car and chauffeur collect you in Toronto, wait outside each London meeting, drive you to lunch, and bring you back in the evening.
A typical day runs eight to ten hours, well within one chauffeur's shift. You work in the back on the way out and take calls on the way home. For three or more colleagues, the executive Sprinter seats seven in a lounge layout, which turns the drive into a meeting room. Company accounts are explained on our corporate car service page.

Students, parents and university weekends
Western University and Fanshawe College draw students from across the Toronto area and from overseas. Move-in weekend in late summer, reading week, the winter break and convocation all bring waves of Toronto families travelling to London and back. A private car lets a student bring everything in one trip and lets parents avoid two long drives in one day.
The SUV holds six passengers and four large bags; the Sprinter luxury van takes up to twelve with room for boxes. International students arriving at Pearson can be met, with meet and greet inside arrivals available at booking, and driven straight to their London residence.
Stratford, Grand Bend and a day out west of Toronto
A Toronto to London trip can double as a day out. Stratford, known for its theatre festival, sits about 45 minutes north of London by Highway 7, and the Lake Huron beaches at Grand Bend are about an hour north-west. An hourly booking lets you see a matinee in Stratford, have dinner in London and be driven home without anyone watching the clock. See our Stratford page for more.
London's own tourism office, Tourism London, lists events and festivals through the year. Check dates there before planning around an event.
Landing at Pearson and heading straight to London
Plenty of travellers never set foot in Toronto: they land at Pearson and want to be in London a couple of hours later. The chauffeur tracks the flight, so a delay does not eat your included waiting, which counts from actual landing: 30 minutes for Canadian domestic and US flights and 60 minutes for other international arrivals. The fare includes curbside pickup at the commercial pickup area on the arrivals level; meet and greet inside arrivals with a name board is an optional add-on at booking, and it is worth it after a long-haul flight or for a first-time visitor.
From the terminal, the car is on the 401 westbound within minutes, which is why Pearson to London is shorter than the trip from downtown. Check which terminal your airline uses, Terminal 1 or Terminal 3, and put it in the booking.
What time should I leave Toronto for a London appointment?
Work backwards from the appointment. Allow two and a half hours from downtown on a weekday morning, two hours at mid-day, and closer to three on a Friday afternoon or a long-weekend Thursday. From Pearson, take off about 15 minutes. In winter, add half an hour when snow is forecast for Woodstock and London. For a hospital appointment or an exam you cannot miss, tell dispatch; the chauffeur would rather arrive early and wait than cut it fine.
Which vehicle suits the London drive?
For one or two passengers, the business sedan or the electric Tesla Model Y is ideal for a two-hour trip. The first-class sedan is the executive choice. Families take the SUV or the premier luxury SUV. Groups of seven use the executive Sprinter, six senior guests can travel in the first-class executive Sprinter, and up to twelve fit the Sprinter luxury van.
Winter on the 401 between Toronto and London
The stretch between Woodstock and London sits in a snowbelt, and squalls off Lake Huron can cut visibility fast. Our cars run on winter tires from November to April, and the chauffeur checks the forecast and road reports before departure. Dispatch will call to move a pickup earlier if a storm is coming. If a closure forces a detour through Hamilton or on county roads, the fixed fare stays the same.
Weddings, funerals and family events in London
Families in Toronto often need to get several generations to a London wedding, a celebration of life or a milestone birthday. A Sprinter carries the group together; an SUV brings the grandparents door to door; a first-class sedan carries the couple. Larger groups needing stretch limousines or coaches are covered through vetted partner operators in the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network, priced in writing by a coordinator. See wedding limo service and funeral limo.
What the fare includes, and changes
The fixed fare in the reservation engine covers the chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR tolls if used, airport fees where relevant and gratuity, with HST shown separately. It changes with the vehicle class, the exact addresses, the date and time, planned stops and waiting, and whether you book one way or by the hour. See how our fares work.
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; 10 % at 72 hours or less, 50 % at 48 hours or less, and 100 % at 24 hours or less or for a no-show.
Flights, hotels and longer trips
If London is part of a longer journey, our travel desk can book hotels and flights alongside the car. Continuing west? See Toronto to Windsor for Windsor and the Detroit crossings, or our London airport (YXU) page for flights from London itself.
