A Stratford to Pearson airport limo covers about 130 km and usually takes 90 to 115 minutes by Highways 7/8 and the 401; downtown Toronto is about 150 km, 100 to 125 minutes. TorontoBlackLimousine.com drives Stratford Festival visitors, locals and business travellers in sedans, SUVs and Sprinters, with a fixed all-in fare shown before you book.
Stratford to Pearson airport: how the trip works
A Stratford to Pearson airport car leaves your house, B&B or hotel at the time the dispatcher sets and drives east. The usual line is Highway 7/8 through Shakespeare and New Hamburg to Kitchener, then Highway 8 or the Conestoga Parkway to the 401, and east past Cambridge and Milton to the airport.
You choose the vehicle in our reservation engine, and the fixed fare covers the chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR tolls if used, airport fees and gratuity, with HST shown separately. On the way back from Pearson the flight is tracked, and the car waits at the pre-arranged pickup area on the arrivals curb. Nothing is metered, so a slow afternoon on the 401 does not change what you pay.

Toronto to Stratford Festival by car
The Stratford Festival is the reason most Toronto visitors make the trip. It runs its season from spring to autumn in four theatres: the Festival Theatre, the Avon Theatre, the Tom Patterson Theatre and the Studio Theatre. Check the festival's site for the current season's plays, dates and curtain times.
A car from downtown Toronto takes about 100 to 125 minutes, so a matinee means leaving the city late in the morning. Many guests book a day return: the chauffeur drops you at the theatre, you have lunch or a walk by the Avon River, you watch the show, and the car brings you home to Toronto the same evening. That trip is best booked by the hour, because the car stays in Stratford with you.
Why book an hourly chauffeur for a Stratford show day
A show day from Toronto usually takes eight to ten hours from pickup to drop-off: two hours each way, a matinee or evening performance, and a meal. With the hourly chauffeur service the same car and chauffeur stay with you the whole day.
- The chauffeur waits while you are in the theatre, so there is no parking to find.
- Two shows in one day, a matinee and an evening, work easily.
- Dinner before the evening show is relaxed, because nobody has to drive home after.
- Groups of six travel in an SUV; up to twelve in a Sprinter.
Hourly bookings start at three hours for sedans, SUVs, vans and Sprinters, with extra time in 30-minute blocks. For a longer day, the private chauffeur page explains how an as-directed day works.

Drop-off and pickup at Stratford's theatres
The four theatres are in different parts of town. The Festival Theatre sits in the park by the Avon River, while the Avon and the Studio theatres are downtown and the Tom Patterson Theatre is by the river as well. Tell us which theatre is on your ticket and the chauffeur drops you at the front entrance.
After a performance hundreds of people leave at once. Our chauffeurs agree a meeting point with you before the show, usually a quiet corner a short walk from the entrance, and they text when parked. The festival's own site and Visit Stratford list parking and accessibility details for each theatre.
When should I leave Stratford for a Pearson flight?
Plan about 115 minutes of driving, plus a traffic margin, plus the airline's arrival advice.
- Morning flights: leave about four hours before a domestic or US flight and five hours before an international one.
- Weekday rush: add 25 to 40 minutes between Cambridge and the 427.
- Winter: Highway 7/8 is exposed to snow squalls; the dispatcher may call to move the pickup earlier.
US flights clear US preclearance at Pearson before boarding, so give yourself extra time for that.
Arriving at Pearson and heading to Stratford
The chauffeur follows your flight and times arrival to the real landing. Included waiting is 30 minutes for Canadian domestic and US flights and 60 minutes for other international flights, counted from actual landing. After that, waiting is billed in 15-minute blocks.
The fare includes curbside pickup at the pre-arranged pickup area. Meet and greet inside arrivals with a name board is an optional add-on at booking, a good idea for overseas festival visitors who do not know Pearson. Pearson's pre-arranged services page explains how booked cars meet passengers. Many overseas visitors land in the afternoon and go straight to Stratford, arriving in time for dinner.
Which vehicle for a Stratford trip?
- Business sedan: a couple and their luggage.
- First-class sedan: an S-Class-type car for a special occasion or an anniversary show day.
- SUV: up to six passengers, good for families and winter trips.
- Executive Sprinter: seven in lounge seating, ideal for a theatre group or a book club outing.
- Sprinter luxury van: twelve seats for larger groups.
For a school group or a busload of subscribers, a coach can be arranged through our partner network.
A Stratford Festival day from Toronto, step by step
Here is how a typical show day with an hourly chauffeur runs for a matinee:
- About 10:30 a.m.: pickup at your Toronto home or hotel; the Gardiner, the 427 and the 401 west.
- About 12:30 p.m.: arrival in Stratford; lunch downtown or a walk by the river.
- About 2:00 p.m.: drop-off at your theatre's front entrance.
- During the show: the chauffeur parks nearby and waits.
- After the curtain call: meet at the agreed spot, then dinner or the drive home.
- Evening: back in Toronto about two hours later.
For an evening performance, move everything about five hours later and plan dinner before the show. The festival publishes running times for each production, which helps the dispatcher estimate the finish.
Stratford, Waterloo and London airports
Pearson has the most flights, but Stratford sits between two smaller airports. Region of Waterloo International (YKF) is about 55 km east and London International (YXU) about 60 km south-west. Airlines and routes at both change by season, so check before booking. We drive to both with flight tracking; see the Waterloo airport (YKF) and London airport (YXU) pages for details.
Stratford for food lovers and weekend visitors
Stratford is known for its restaurants and food culture as well as its theatre, and many visitors plan a whole weekend around a show, dinner and shopping downtown. The town's parks along the Avon River are a lovely walk between performances.
If you stay two or three nights, one-way bookings for arrival and departure usually work best, with an hourly booking in between if you want to visit St. Jacobs, the countryside or Lake Huron's shore. Visit Stratford lists events and food trails; we suggest checking there for current festivals rather than relying on fixed dates.
Stratford to downtown Toronto for business, games and shows
Stratford residents travel to Toronto for meetings, specialist appointments, Blue Jays and Leafs games and shows in the Theatre District. A downtown drop-off is about 150 km and 100 to 125 minutes.
For an evening in the city, hourly booking means the chauffeur waits and drives you home, however late the game or show ends. For a business day in the Financial District, the car waits between meetings. See downtown Toronto and the Theatre District pages for drop-off tips.

Train or car from Toronto to Stratford?
VIA Rail serves Stratford's station, and some travellers prefer the train. Check VIA Rail for current schedules; there are only a few trains a day, and times may not suit a matinee or a late show. A private car leaves when you want, goes to your theatre's door and brings you back after the curtain call.
For a solo traveller with light luggage and a schedule that fits the train, the train is a fine choice. For couples, groups and anyone planning around show times, the car usually works better.
Stratford weddings and special occasions
Stratford's theatres, riverside parks and heritage inns make it a popular place for weddings and anniversaries. We bring guests from Pearson and Toronto, run shuttles between hotels and venues, and drive the family home at the end of the night.
Stretch limousines for the wedding party come from vetted partner operators in the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network, priced in writing by a coordinator. Our own SUVs and Sprinters handle guest shuttles. For an anniversary show day, a first-class sedan adds a sense of occasion. See anniversary limo for ideas.
Accessibility and older theatregoers
Many Stratford Festival regulars are older travellers, and a door-to-door car removes the hardest parts of the day: long walks from parking, stairs to a train platform, and a late drive home in the dark. The chauffeur drops you at the theatre's front entrance and helps with coats and bags.
We fold and stow wheelchairs and walkers for passengers who can transfer to a seat. We have a wheelchair-accessible vehicle for anyone who must stay seated in a wheelchair or scooter, available when booked in advance. Tell dispatch about mobility needs at booking so the right vehicle, often an SUV with a lower step than a van, is sent.
Cancellations and changes
Cancelling more than 72 hours before pickup costs nothing. At 72 hours or less it is 10 %; at 48 hours or less, 50 %; at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, 100 %, measured from the scheduled pickup. If the festival changes a curtain time, tell dispatch and we move the car.
Plan the rest of the trip
For festival visitors flying in from abroad, our travel desk books flights, hotels and packages together with the car. We also serve nearby Woodstock, Kitchener-Waterloo and London, Ontario.
