A Windsor to Toronto car service is a pre-booked private car between Windsor International Airport (YQG) and your Toronto address. Downtown Toronto is about 365 km and 3 h 45 min to 4 h 20 min away on Highway 401; Toronto Pearson is about 345 km and 3.5 to 4 hours. Book direct to see the fixed, all-in fare before you confirm.
What is the Windsor to Toronto car service?
It is a private black car and a professional chauffeur from TorontoBlackLimousine.com covering the full length of Highway 401 between Windsor and the Greater Toronto Area, in either direction. Windsor International Airport sits on the southeast side of the city, a short drive from the Detroit River crossings, and has its own website at flyyqg.ca. People search for a Windsor airport to Toronto car because a flight to Pearson was cancelled, because they want to reach a Toronto hotel without a connection, or because they need to move a group, a family or a lot of luggage in one vehicle. Our Toronto dispatch desk plans the run, tracks the flight and quotes one fixed fare when you book the Windsor trip online.
How far is Windsor airport from downtown Toronto and Pearson?
Planning figures from our dispatch desk; the reservation engine quotes the exact fare for your address, date, time and vehicle.

The long middle stretch between Windsor and London is fast and open; the time you lose is usually in the GTA itself.
Why drive from Windsor instead of flying to Toronto?
A Windsor to Toronto flight is quick in the air, but once you add check-in, security, boarding and the walk at Pearson, the door-to-door time closes a lot of the gap, especially if your destination is west of the city. The car also removes weather cancellations, fixed bag allowances and the need to split a group across flights. For three or four colleagues, a family with a baby, or a band with equipment, one vehicle with one fixed fare is often simpler than several airline tickets and a taxi at the other end. And for anyone who has just had a flight into Windsor cancelled at night, the car is how you still wake up in Toronto.
Who flies into Windsor International Airport?
Windsor has scheduled domestic flights, historically with more than one Canadian carrier linking it to Toronto and other cities, plus seasonal sun charters, cargo and business aviation. Airline line-ups at mid-sized Canadian airports change between seasons, so we do not list them; check Windsor International Airport or your airline. Give us your flight number at booking and we will track it.
How does pickup work at Windsor airport?
YQG's terminal is compact and easy to navigate. Your fare includes curbside pickup at the terminal's pickup area; the chauffeur messages you the car, plate and exact spot as you land. Meet & greet inside arrivals with a name board is available at booking if you prefer. Windsor flights are Canadian domestic or US flights, so included waiting is 30 minutes from actual landing, then 15-minute blocks. Because we track from departure, an early or late landing does not cost you anything extra within that allowance.

Windsor airport or Detroit Metro (DTW)?
Windsor sits directly across the river from Detroit, and Detroit Metropolitan Airport is a large hub with far more nonstop routes, including international ones. Many Windsor-area travellers fly from DTW and drive home across the border. For a Toronto traveller the choice is really about the flight: if the only good option lands at DTW, we drive there too, crossing at the Ambassador Bridge or the tunnel, with everyone's documents checked by CBSA on the way back. If your flight lands at YQG, there is no border at all between the terminal and Toronto.
Which route does the chauffeur take?
It is Highway 401 almost the whole way. From YQG the chauffeur joins the 401 at the south end of Windsor and heads east past Tilbury, Chatham, London, Woodstock and Cambridge into the GTA. For Pearson the car stays on the 401 to the 427 or the 409. For downtown Toronto it usually takes the 427 south to the Gardiner Expressway, or continues on the 401 to the Don Valley Parkway for north and east addresses. The dispatcher checks Ontario 511 for closures before departure, and the chauffeur can switch to the 403 through Hamilton when the 401 through Milton is blocked.
Driver hours and rest stops
At nearly four hours each way, a Windsor run is one of our longer regular trips. On a one-way trip the chauffeur drives straight through with a short break if you want one. ONroute service centres along the 401, including in the Chatham and Woodstock areas, make coffee and washroom stops easy. For a same-day return — Toronto to Windsor and back, or the reverse — the dispatcher plans a proper rest period between legs or assigns a second chauffeur, so nobody drives an eight-hour day tired. If you need several days in Windsor, the chauffeur can stay over and work as your hourly driver while you are there.
When is an hourly chauffeur the better choice?
A Windsor trip often combines stops: a meeting at an auto-sector plant, a visit to a client in London on the way, lunch in Chatham, or a hospital appointment for a parent. Our private chauffeur service keeps the car and driver with you by the hour, with a 3-hour minimum on sedans, SUVs, vans and Sprinters and extra time in 30-minute blocks. There are no per-stop charges. On a straight airport transfer, the one-way fare is usually lower; when the day has waiting in it, hourly usually wins. The dispatcher will say which.
Which vehicle is right for the 401 run?
- Business sedan: two passengers and two bags, a quiet cabin for a long drive.
- SUV: up to six passengers and four large bags, with winter traction for the open 401.
- Premier luxury SUV: extra legroom and a premium cabin for executives.
- Executive Sprinter or First-class executive Sprinter: teams and executive groups who want to work or rest on the way, with room for strollers and walkers.
- Sprinter luxury van: up to 12 passengers for larger groups.
Child seats are available at booking. We fold and stow wheelchairs and walkers for passengers who can transfer to a seat; for anyone who must stay seated in a wheelchair or scooter, our wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available when booked in advance.
Winter on the Windsor–London stretch
Southwestern Ontario is flat and open, which means blowing snow and sudden squalls off Lake Huron and Lake Erie, especially between Chatham and London. Fog off the lakes can also settle over this stretch of the 401 in spring and autumn. Our cars run winter tires from November to April and chauffeurs slow down when visibility drops. For winter trips we add a buffer to departure pickups and keep you informed if a closure changes the route. Being on time for a flight never outranks being safe on the road.
Detroit Lions games and cross-border trips
Windsor is also the gateway to Detroit. We run Detroit Lions game trips from Toronto, and some fans ask to be dropped in Windsor for dinner before crossing. Every passenger needs a valid passport, passport card, NEXUS card or enhanced licence, as applicable; check U.S. Customs and Border Protection before you travel. For the full picture of trips from Detroit, see Detroit to Toronto by car.
Flying to Windsor from Toronto: departures
The trip also runs westbound. If you are flying out of YQG, the dispatcher works back from your departure: the drive, a margin for GTA traffic and the airline's cut-off. From downtown Toronto that usually means leaving about five hours before a morning flight. The chauffeur drops you at the departures door and unloads the bags. Travellers heading to Windsor for a conference, a casino evening or the riverfront can read Visit Windsor Essex and our Toronto to Windsor route.
What is included in the fare?
The fixed fare shown before you confirm covers the chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR tolls if used, airport fees and gratuity; HST is shown separately. It changes with the vehicle class, the distance and time, waiting beyond the included allowance, extra stops, the date and season, and one-way versus hourly. There is no surge and no meter; our guide to how fares work explains each factor.
How to book direct
Book on our own reservation engine at /book/: choose YQG, add the flight number and your Toronto address, pick a vehicle and see the fixed fare. No app, no aggregator commission, one dispatch desk for both directions. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; 72 hours or less is 10 %, 48 hours or less 50 %, and 24 hours or less or a no-show is charged in full.
Planning the rest of the trip
If you are still choosing flights or a hotel in Toronto, our travel desk can help with both and add the ground legs to one plan. Travellers stopping in London on the way can see our London, Ontario page, and business travellers who expect a day of meetings once they arrive can book the same car for an hourly chauffeur day in Toronto.
Families, students and moves between Windsor and Toronto
Plenty of Windsor to Toronto trips are personal rather than business: a student heading home from the University of Windsor with a term's worth of bags, grandparents visiting family in the GTA for the holidays, or a household moving a few boxes ahead of the truck. In each case the value of the car is simple: one vehicle, one fixed fare, no luggage limits beyond the space in the vehicle, and a driver who helps load and unload. An SUV or executive Sprinter takes a surprising amount, and the chauffeur will pack it so nothing shifts on the 401. Tell us at booking what you are carrying and we will size the vehicle properly.
