A Blue Mountain resort car service from Toronto covers about 160 km to the Village hotels, a typical 2 to 2.5 hours via Highway 400 and Highway 26; from Pearson (YYZ) it is about 150 km, 1.75 to 2.25 hours. TorontoBlackLimousine.com drives SUVs and Sprinters with winter tires, shows the fixed all-in fare before you confirm and carries the skis. Book your Blue Mountain car.
Blue Mountain resort car service from Toronto: how it works
Blue Mountain sits on the Niagara Escarpment above Georgian Bay, west of Collingwood in the Town of The Blue Mountains. Its pedestrian Village at the base of the ski hills holds most of the resort's hotel rooms, and in winter the drive there is the part of the trip people dread: snow squalls off the bay, a slow Highway 26 and a full car of skis and boots. Our car service takes that job away. You book once, the chauffeur arrives at your Toronto home, hotel or the Pearson curb in a winter-ready SUV or Sprinter, and the fixed fare shown in the reservation engine is the fare you pay. The chauffeur carries the gear to the lobby, and the same account books the return or an hourly day in Collingwood.
Which Blue Mountain resort hotels do we drive to?
Blue Mountain Resort's own lodging page, checked on 30 September 2026, lists four resort properties. We drive to them as addresses and have no partnership with the resort.
| Resort property | Location | From downtown Toronto | From Pearson (YYZ) |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Westin Trillium House, Blue Mountain | Village, base of the hills | about 160 km · 2–2.5 h | about 150 km · 1.75–2.25 h |
| Mosaic Boutique Suites | Village | about 160 km · 2–2.5 h | about 150 km · 1.75–2.25 h |
| Village Suites (including The Grand Georgian) | Village | about 160 km · 2–2.5 h | about 150 km · 1.75–2.25 h |
| Blue Mountain Inn | Resort, near the hills | about 160 km · 2–2.5 h | about 150 km · 1.75–2.25 h |
| Downtown Collingwood | Hurontario St area | about 150 km · 1.75–2.25 h | about 140 km · 1.6–2 h |
The resort's official site lists what each property offers and the resort's current guest benefits. Chalets and condos around the hills, in Craigleith and in Thornbury work the same way: enter the address in the engine.
How long is the drive from Toronto to Blue Mountain?
From Union Station the usual line is the Gardiner or the Don Valley Parkway to Highway 401, Highway 400 north to Barrie, then Highway 26 west through Wasaga Beach and Collingwood to the resort: about 160 km. On a clear weekday that is two hours. A Friday in February with snow on the 400 can take three and a half. From Pearson the chauffeur may choose Highway 427 and the 400, or the Airport Road and Highway 10 line north through Caledon when the 400 is jammed. The dispatcher checks Ontario 511 and Environment Canada before every winter departure.
| Trip | Distance | Typical drive |
|---|---|---|
| Downtown Toronto to Blue Mountain Village | about 160 km | 2–2.5 h |
| Pearson (YYZ) to Blue Mountain Village | about 150 km | 1.75–2.25 h |
| Billy Bishop (YTZ) to Blue Mountain | about 162 km | 2–2.5 h |
| Blue Mountain to downtown Collingwood | about 12 km | 15–20 min |
| Blue Mountain to Wasaga Beach | about 30 km | 30–40 min |
| Blue Mountain to Barrie | about 70 km | 55–70 min |
| Blue Mountain to Owen Sound | about 55 km | 45–60 min |
What does the fare to a Blue Mountain hotel include?
The reservation engine shows the fixed, all-in fare before you confirm: chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR tolls if used, airport fees on Pearson pickups and gratuity, with HST shown on its own line. No meter, and no surcharge because it snowed. What changes the fare is the vehicle class, the distance and time, extra stops (a grocery run in Collingwood is common), waiting and the date; holiday weeks book up early. Type the resort property on the booking page to see the figure; how our fares work explains the structure.
Which vehicle for skis, snowboards and families?
Ski trips are about luggage. A SUV such as a Yukon XL or Suburban seats six with four bags, but skis and boot bags take more room than suitcases, so a family of four with gear usually fits best in an SUV. The premier luxury SUV adds comfort for the same load. Groups choose the 12-seat Sprinter luxury van or the lounge-seated executive Sprinter, and tell us the number of skis and boards when booking so we plan the space. A business sedan suits a couple going for a spa weekend with two cases.
- All our cars run winter tires from November to April.
- Child seats (infant, convertible and booster) are available at booking.
- Tell us about roof-box-sized gear, such as a snowboard bag for three, so the right vehicle is sent.
Winter driving on Highway 26 and the 400
Georgian Bay produces lake-effect snow squalls that can drop visibility to almost nothing between Wasaga Beach and Collingwood while Barrie is sunny. Our chauffeurs drive this corridor regularly and adjust: an earlier departure, a slower pace, a stop in Barrie to let a squall pass. The dispatcher will call if a road closure or a severe-weather warning makes the booked time unsafe, and the chauffeur, not the passenger, makes the call to wait. This is the main reason ski families book a car instead of driving their own.
Arriving at Pearson and driving straight to the resort
Many visitors fly into Pearson from the US, the UK or Western Canada and go straight to the hills. The flight is tracked, and included waiting is 30 minutes on Canadian domestic and US flights and 60 minutes on other international arrivals, counted from actual landing. Pickup is at the terminal's pre-arranged pickup area; meet and greet inside arrivals with a name board is an optional add-on, available at booking. Skis travel in the airline's oversize baggage, so allow extra time and let the chauffeur know if the bags are delayed.
Summer at Blue Mountain and Georgian Bay
The resort runs all year. Summer brings mountain biking, hiking on the escarpment, golf, the beaches at Wasaga and events in the Village, and guests from Toronto come for a long weekend with less luggage and longer evenings. Visit South Georgian Bay and the Town of The Blue Mountains list what is on. A car up on the Friday and back on the Sunday avoids the Highway 400 cottage traffic stress; our Blue Mountain Village page covers the Village itself.
Hourly chauffeur for a day around Collingwood
Our lead service, the hourly chauffeur, has a 3-hour minimum in sedans, SUVs and Sprinters, with extra time in 30-minute blocks. In the Blue Mountain area it is used for a day of wineries and cideries on the Apple Pie Trail, a spa afternoon and dinner in Collingwood or Thornbury, or a property viewing tour for buyers looking at chalets. The chauffeur waits at each stop, so nobody has to drive home after dinner. The Town of Collingwood site lists local events.
Corporate retreats and conferences at the resort
Companies take over parts of the Village for sales kick-offs and leadership retreats, especially in the shoulder seasons. The attendees come from Toronto offices or land at Pearson, and they arrive in waves. We run the arrivals as a programme: Sprinters from a downtown meeting point, sedans for late arrivals and executives, and a coach for a large group through our partner network. Multi-vehicle programmes are priced in writing by a coordinator. See corporate events and galas for how we plan them.
Weddings in the Blue Mountains
Weddings in the Village, at golf clubs and at barn venues around the escarpment bring guests from Toronto who do not want to drive the 400 twice in a weekend. We carry the wedding party up from the city, run the couple's car on the day and move guests between hotels and the venue. Stretch limousines, party buses and coaches come from vetted partner operators in the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network, and multi-vehicle weddings are priced in writing by a coordinator. Our wedding limo page explains what to book first.
Private flights into Collingwood
Some guests skip the drive entirely and fly private into Collingwood Regional Airport, a few minutes from the resort. We meet the aircraft where the airport permits and drive the short hop to the Village, or carry the party back to Toronto if the weather closes in. See our Collingwood Regional Airport page for how private aviation pickups work.
Private car or the shuttle?
Honest comparison: coach and shuttle services between Toronto and the resort have operated in ski seasons (check the operators for this winter), and for a solo skier on a budget they can make sense. A private car wins for families, groups splitting the fare, anyone with a lot of gear, arrivals from Pearson at odd hours, and anyone who does not want to wait at a bus stop in a snowstorm. Our article on the Blue Mountain shuttle versus a private car sets out both sides.
The last day: check-out, one more run, then home
The return is where a booked car earns its keep. Most families want one last morning on the hills, a late lunch in the Village and then the drive home, while the hotel wants the room back by its check-out time. Book the return pickup for mid-afternoon, leave the bags with the front desk, and the chauffeur loads everything while you change out of ski boots. Sunday afternoon traffic on Highway 400 southbound is heavy through Barrie and again at the 401, so a departure before 2 p.m. or after 7 p.m. usually saves the most time. For a flight home the same day, tell us the flight number and the dispatcher works backwards from Pearson's recommended check-in time, adding a winter buffer.
Spring and autumn shoulder seasons
Between the ski season and summer, and again in the autumn colours, the resort is quieter and the roads are clearer. These are good weeks for a corporate offsite, a spa weekend or a couple's getaway, and the drive from Toronto is usually close to the two-hour planning figure.
Booking the lodging, the flight and the car together
If you are still arranging the trip, our travel desk books flights, hotels, resorts and packages through BookingWorldwide.net and adds the chauffeur to the same itinerary: flight into Pearson, the SUV to the Village, and the return on the last day.
Cancellation and changes
More than 72 hours before pickup, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10 %; 48 hours or less, 50 %; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100 %, measured from the scheduled pickup. If a storm closes Highway 26 we move the booking with you rather than send a car into danger. The full route is on our Toronto to Blue Mountain page; other resort stays are on the Muskoka resorts and Niagara-on-the-Lake hotels pages.
