A Toronto to Sudbury car service with TorontoBlackLimousine.com covers about 390 km in a typical 4 to 4.75 hours via Highway 400 and Highway 69; a Toronto to North Bay car service is about 345 km and 3.5 to 4.25 hours via the 400 and Highway 11. One private chauffeur drives door to door, both ways, and the reservation engine shows the fixed fare before you book.
Toronto to Sudbury car service and Toronto to North Bay car service at a glance
Sudbury and North Bay are the two gateway cities of northeastern Ontario, and they sit on different highways out of Toronto. Sudbury is reached by heading up Highway 400 past Barrie and Parry Sound, where the road continues as Highway 69 across the Canadian Shield. North Bay is reached by leaving the 400 at Barrie for Highway 11, through Orillia, Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Huntsville to the shore of Lake Nipissing. You can book the Toronto to Sudbury or North Bay car now: enter the address at each end, pick a vehicle, and the reservation engine displays the fixed, all-in fare before you confirm. The same page works in reverse, for a pickup in Sudbury or North Bay heading south to Toronto or to a flight at Pearson.

Which highway: the 400 and Highway 69 to Sudbury, or Highway 11 to North Bay?
For Sudbury the chauffeur takes the 400 north from the 401, through Vaughan and past Barrie, and stays on it through Waubaushene and Parry Sound. North of Parry Sound the four-lane road gives way in places to Highway 69, which the province has been widening in stages; expect some two-lane sections, passing lanes and occasional construction through the French River area. For North Bay the car leaves the 400 at Barrie for Highway 11, which is a divided highway most of the way north through Muskoka to North Bay. Both routes are well maintained, but both run through long stretches of forest and rock with few towns, which is why we check Ontario 511 for closures before every departure and carry winter kits from November to April.
Rest stops and road-trip rhythm on the northern highways
A four-hour drive usually needs one real break. On the 400 the ONroute centres at King City and near Barrie (ONroute) are the last big service plazas; after that, stops are in the towns. For Sudbury, Parry Sound is the natural halfway point for coffee and a stretch, with the Georgian Bay waterfront a few minutes off the highway. For North Bay, Gravenhurst, Bracebridge or Huntsville all make easy stops just off Highway 11, and on a summer weekend the chauffeur will pick the one with the shortest line. If you are travelling for work and want to use the time, tell us to keep stops brief; if you are taking a relative north for a family visit, we can plan a proper lunch.

Business trips to Sudbury: mining, hospitals and the university
Sudbury is a working city. Mining companies, suppliers, engineering firms, the regional hospital and Laurentian University all draw visitors from Toronto, and many of those visits are one-day round trips. A chauffeur turns the drive into four hours of desk time each way: calls, email and document review in the back seat, with a charging cable and Wi-Fi from your own phone. For a day that includes several sites around the city, the hourly chauffeur in Toronto model works well up north too: the same car drives you from Toronto, waits at each meeting, and brings you home the same evening. For trips with an overnight, the chauffeur stays locally and is rested for the drive back. The City of Greater Sudbury lists municipal information for visitors.
North Bay trips: family visits, the waterfront and the base
North Bay draws a steady stream of family travel from Toronto: parents visiting students at the college and university, grandparents heading north for the holidays, and relatives returning from Pearson after a flight home from abroad. It is also home to a Canadian Forces base, and our cars regularly carry travellers connecting between Pearson and the city. The waterfront on Lake Nipissing is pleasant in summer, and North Bay makes a good staging point for trips further north. The City of North Bay has local information. For a family with luggage, a Yukon XL or Suburban SUV is the common choice; one or two travellers are comfortable in a business sedan.
Combining Sudbury and North Bay in one trip
The two cities are about 130 km apart on Highway 17, roughly an hour and a half, so a single booking can visit both. A common pattern is Toronto to North Bay on Highway 11 in the morning, a meeting or lunch there, then west to Sudbury in the afternoon and back down Highway 69 and the 400 in the evening. That is a long day, around 870 km in total, and it is only practical as a two-day plan with an overnight in Sudbury, or with the car kept by the hour and the chauffeur resting while you work. We will tell you honestly when a proposed itinerary is too much for one day. The loop is also a lovely autumn drive, with the colour on Highway 11 and the rock cuts of the Shield on Highway 69.
Chauffeur hours and overnights on northern trips
A round trip to Sudbury is roughly eight hours of driving before any time on site, which is a full shift for one chauffeur. Our dispatch plans it with rest breaks and will not stretch a single chauffeur past a safe working day. For a same-day return with a long meeting in the middle, we may suggest keeping the car on the hourly service so the chauffeur rests while you are inside, or splitting the trip with an overnight. On one-way bookings the chauffeur drops you and returns on their own schedule; that return leg is part of how the fare is calculated. Winter storms in the snowbelt near Parry Sound and on Highway 11 can close roads, and in that case we move the departure rather than drive into it.
One-way, round trip or as directed?
- One-way transfer. Toronto or Pearson to your door in Sudbury or North Bay, or the reverse. Good for relocations, students heading back to school and one-way family visits.
- Round trip on separate days. Two bookings, each with its own fixed fare, when you are staying a few days and do not need the car in between.
- As directed, by the hour. One car and chauffeur kept for the whole trip, with waiting at meetings and stops as you choose, on the private chauffeur service. The 3-hour minimum is easily met on a northern day, and extra time runs in 30-minute blocks.

Why a chauffeur beats flying for many northern trips
On paper a flight is about an hour. In practice, getting from a Toronto office to Pearson, clearing security, waiting to board, flying, collecting a bag and finding a ride on the other end often adds up to something close to the four-hour drive, and it is less flexible. The private car leaves when you are ready, carries as much luggage as the vehicle holds, stops where you want, and puts you at the exact door rather than at an airport outside town. For two or more people travelling together, one car also means one booking instead of several tickets. When the weather grounds small regional flights, the highway is often still open, although we will always be straight with you if it is not.
Pearson connections to Sudbury and North Bay
Many clients land at Pearson from overseas or from western Canada and would rather ride north than wait for a connecting flight. We track the flight, allow 30 minutes of included waiting after a Canadian or US landing and 60 minutes after other international arrivals, and meet you at the arrivals-level pre-arranged pickup area; meet and greet inside the arrivals hall with a name board is available at booking. From the terminal the chauffeur takes the 409 or 401 to the 400 and is heading north within minutes, avoiding downtown entirely. Southbound, we plan back from your departure time with a margin for the 400 at Barrie. See Toronto Pearson airport transfers for terminal details.

Science North, Dynamic Earth and a Sudbury day out
Not every Sudbury trip is for work. Science North, the science centre on Ramsey Lake, and its sister attraction Dynamic Earth, home of the Big Nickel, draw families and school groups from across the province. A private Sprinter is a practical way for a group of up to twelve to make the trip in comfort: the Sprinter luxury van takes twelve with bags, and the Executive Sprinter seats seven in lounge-style comfort. Because it is a long day, most groups either stay overnight in Sudbury or leave Toronto early and return in the evening with the chauffeur kept by the hour.
Muskoka and cottage country on the way
Highway 11 to North Bay runs straight through Muskoka, so the route pairs naturally with cottage and resort stays. Drop a family at a Huntsville resort for a week and continue to North Bay with the rest of the group, or collect someone in Gravenhurst on the way. Our Toronto to Muskoka car service and the Huntsville page cover that part of the corridor in more detail, and Toronto to Algonquin Park is a short detour east from Huntsville on Highway 60.
Seasons in the north: winter, spring thaw and summer weekends
Northern Ontario winters are long, and the snowbelt east of Georgian Bay, around Parry Sound, is known for heavy lake-effect snow. From November to April our cars run winter tires and we allow extra time. Spring brings frost heaves and construction as crews repair the road, and summer brings cottage traffic that makes Friday afternoons northbound and Sunday afternoons southbound the slowest windows of the week. Late September and early October are the calmest and most scenic time to drive north, with the hardwoods turning colour between Barrie and North Bay.
Flights, hotels and the rest of your trip
If part of the journey is by air, our travel desk can price flights and hotels and add the drive to the same plan. Through the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network, chauffeured cars in more than 70 countries and 500 cities are bookable on the same Toronto account, which is useful for a traveller flying out of Pearson to a meeting abroad after the northern trip.
