A limo to a Toronto FC game at BMO Field is best booked hourly: the chauffeur drops you near your gate at Exhibition Place, waits outside the grounds and meets you after the final whistle. BMO Field is about 5 km (10–20 min) from Union Station and 24 km (20–40 min) from Pearson. Tickets are mobile, and the stadium has a clear-bag policy.
Our BMO Field limo page for TFC and Argos games explains the stadium, the drive and the vehicles. This post is the soccer fan's match-day plan: tickets and bag rules, a timeline from the suburbs, an honest look at the GO train, and how a supporters' group of twelve gets home together. When you have tickets, the reservation engine shows the fixed fare for your hours, with any 407 ETR tolls on the planned route included.
When does a limo to a Toronto FC game make sense?
A limo to a Toronto FC game makes the most sense when the match is part of a longer day or the group is bigger than two. Typical bookings we see: a family from Vaughan who do not want to pay for parking and queue out of Exhibition Place; a supporters' group of twelve who want to arrive together; a company hosting clients in a premium club; and visitors flying into Pearson for a big fixture. For a solo fan travelling light from a station on the Lakeshore GO line, the train is genuinely the quicker option, and we explain it below.
What do you need to know about TFC tickets and entry?
BMO Field's bag policy and its Know Before You Go notes cover the rules that matter on the day:
- Tickets are mobile. They are delivered digitally and scanned from your phone through the Toronto FC app, or the Ticketmaster app if you bought there.
- The bag policy is strict. Clear bags up to 30.5 by 16 by 30.5 cm, a clear one-gallon freezer bag, or a small clutch under 16.5 by 11.5 cm are allowed; other bags are refused.
- The venue is cashless. Bring a card or a phone wallet.
- Any gate works. Your ticket suggests a gate, but fans can enter through the shortest line.
Buy tickets through the Toronto FC site's official channels. We do not sell tickets.
What does a match day look like from the suburbs?
Here is an evening kick-off for a family of four from Vaughan, about 35 km and 35 to 55 minutes from the stadium.
| Time | Step | Distance and drive | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4:45 p.m. | Pickup at home | about 35 km, 35–55 min | the 400 and 401 are busy at this hour |
| 5:45 p.m. | Early dinner in Liberty Village | short hop | 5–10 min from the stadium |
| 6:45 p.m. | Drop-off near your gate | inside or beside the grounds | as traffic management allows |
| 7:30 p.m. | Kick-off | car staged outside the grounds | text the meet point |
| 9:25 p.m. | Final whistle | car moves to the meet point | walk out and step away |
| 9:40 p.m. | Pickup | on the way to the Gardiner | |
| 10:30 p.m. | Home | about six hours door to door |
Six hours sits comfortably above the 3-hour minimum for sedans, SUVs and Sprinters on an hourly chauffeur booking.
How does the GO train compare with a car for a TFC match?
Honestly, the train is excellent for some fans. BMO Field's directions page says Exhibition GO station sits just outside the grounds, one stop west of Union Station on the Lakeshore lines, and lists TTC streetcar and bus options from the subway. A fan who lives near a Lakeshore East or West station can be at the gate quickly and avoid the post-match traffic entirely; check GO Transit for the return times. The car wins for families with young children, groups splitting one vehicle, fans living away from the rail lines, clients who should not be sent to a platform, and anyone carrying more than the clear-bag rule allows.
Where should the chauffeur meet you after the final whistle?
Outside the grounds, not inside. Exhibition Place has a limited number of internal roads, and after a match the parking lots and exits all empty onto Lake Shore Boulevard West and the roads to the north at the same time. The chauffeur usually suggests a meet point a short walk away: north towards Liberty Village and King Street West if you are heading north or east across the city, or west along Lake Shore if you are heading towards the Gardiner west and Mississauga. The exact corner depends on the day's restrictions and on what else is happening on the grounds, so it is confirmed on the day and texted with the plate number.
What should a supporters' group of twelve plan?
One vehicle, one meet point, one leader. The Sprinter luxury van seats up to twelve, so the whole group can travel from a pub meet-up to the stadium and home again together. Put the group leader's phone number on the booking and ask everyone to walk straight to the meet point after the match rather than splitting up. Flags and drums may or may not be permitted inside, depending on stadium rules, so anything refused at the gate can stay in the van. One plain rule: alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles, so pre-match drinks stay at the pub and nobody boards with open cans. Bigger groups can add a second van, or book a coach through our partner operators.
What changes for families with young children?
Kick-off times, the open-air setting and the walk across Exhibition Place all matter more with children. Book an SUV with infant, convertible or booster seats, available at booking, and pack layers for an evening breeze off the lake. Clear bags with snacks and nappies are fine under the bag policy, but a large nappy bag is not, so leave the spare one in the car. For a long walk from the drop-off, the stadium's FAQ describes a mobility shuttle cart from the corner of Manitoba Drive and Nova Scotia Avenue, across from Exhibition GO, that runs before kick-off and for a short time after the match, except in bad weather.
How do accessibility and mobility needs fit in?
BMO Field's FAQ page describes accessible seating, wheelchair escorts available at Fan Services by Gates 1 and 3, and the mobility shuttle cart that brings fans from near the GO station to their gate. On our side, chauffeurs fold and stow wheelchairs and walkers for passengers who can transfer to a seat, and we have a wheelchair-accessible vehicle for guests who stay in their chair or scooter; book it ahead and mention the chair at booking. The chauffeur drops as close to your gate as matchday traffic management allows and agrees a short, level route to the meet point afterwards.
How do visiting fans plan a trip around a big match?
International fixtures and big rivalry matches bring fans from across Canada and the United States. From Pearson, BMO Field is one of the quickest major venues to reach: about 24 km via Highway 427 and the Gardiner, typically 20 to 40 minutes. The chauffeur meets you at the pre-arranged pickup area on the arrivals curb with your flight tracked, takes luggage to the hotel, and returns for the match. The waterfront hotels along Queens Quay are 10 to 15 minutes from the stadium. US visitors need a valid passport or other accepted document to enter Canada. Our travel desk can book flights and rooms for the trip.
How do you host clients at BMO Field?
The stadium lists premium spaces such as club seats and suites, and companies use them for client entertainment through the season. The transport plan that works: a first-class sedan on an hourly booking for the principal guest, a Sprinter from a downtown office for the team, and one-way cars home for guests who live in different directions. If a client has to leave at half-time for a flight, add a one-way car to Pearson on the same account. Our VIP event transportation page explains passenger lists and timings.
What does the weather mean for an open-air match?
BMO Field has no roof, and the lake makes its own weather. Spring matches can be cold and wet, summer evenings humid, and autumn games chilly once the sun goes down. Check Environment Canada on the morning of the game and dress in layers. A chauffeur helps here in a simple way: spare jackets and umbrellas stay in the car, and you only carry what fits the bag rules. After a wet match, a warm car a few minutes' walk away beats a long queue for the GO platform or a parking-lot exit.
What else happens at Exhibition Place on match days?
Exhibition Place is a busy site. The Enercare Centre hosts trade shows, the Coca-Cola Coliseum has hockey and concerts, and in late August the CNE takes over the grounds. When a match coincides with another large event, parking and the internal roads fill up and journey times rise. Our dispatchers check the Exhibition Place event calendar and the City's road notices before every matchday booking and move the pickup time earlier when needed. Visitors attending a show at the Enercare Centre can keep the same hourly car for the hop to the stadium.
What mistakes do fans make on match day?
- Arriving with a backpack that fails the clear-bag rule.
- Booking a one-way pickup at a fixed time, then watching stoppage time and celebrations run long.
- Asking to be collected inside the grounds, where the exit queue is longest.
- Underestimating the evening rush when leaving the 905 for an evening kick-off.
- Forgetting layers for a lakeside evening in April or October.
How early should you arrive for a TFC match?
Plan to be at the gate 45 to 60 minutes before kick-off, and earlier for a big fixture. Security checks of clear bags take time, lines grow in the last half hour, and many fans want to eat inside or watch the warm-up. From the 905, that means leaving well before the evening rush peaks on the Gardiner and the 401; the timeline above uses a 4:45 p.m. pickup for a 7:30 p.m. kick-off for that reason. If part of the group is late, the chauffeur drops the first wave and returns, or you simply walk in together at the gate nearest the drop-off. With mobile tickets, latecomers only need their own ticket on their own phone.

Which sibling posts cover other games and venues?
The same stadium hosts CFL football, and our post on a party bus to an Argonauts game covers the big-group version of Exhibition Place logistics. For baseball downtown, see the Blue Jays tickets and game-day plan. Our cancellation policy for all of them is measured from the scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours before, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10 %; 48 hours or less, 50 %; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100 %.
