American Airlines, Delta, Porter, WestJet and KLM fly from Terminal 3 at Toronto Pearson (YYZ); Air Canada and United use Terminal 1. That is per Toronto Pearson's airline list, checked 4 October 2026. Check your booking before you travel, because airlines can move. Give us your flight number when you book your Pearson car and the chauffeur goes to the right terminal.
Which is the American Airlines terminal at Pearson?
American Airlines uses Terminal 3 at Toronto Pearson. So do Delta, Porter Airlines, WestJet, KLM and Air France, along with most of the European and Asian carriers that are not on the Terminal 1 list. Air Canada and United Airlines use Terminal 1. We checked every name below against Toronto Pearson's own airline list on 4 October 2026, and we will keep checking it, but the airport and the airlines can move a carrier between terminals with little fanfare. The terminal printed on your e-ticket, your airline app or your boarding pass is the one that counts on the day. For a pre-booked car, the simplest safeguard is to put the flight number in the booking. Our dispatch desk reads the operating airline from it, tracks the flight, and sends the chauffeur to the correct terminal's pre-arranged pickup area. If you are flying out, tell the chauffeur the airline and the car pulls up at the right departures door.

What terminal is Porter at Pearson?
Porter Airlines flies from Terminal 3 at Pearson. That catches out a lot of Toronto travellers, because Porter is also the airline most people associate with Billy Bishop, the island airport downtown. Before you book a car, check which Toronto airport is on the ticket: Pearson (YYZ) is 27 km and typically 25–45 minutes from Union Station, while Billy Bishop (YTZ) is 3–5 km and 10–20 minutes away, with cars stopping at the mainland terminal on Eireann Quay. A Porter booking that says YYZ means Terminal 3; one that says YTZ means the island, and our Billy Bishop airport car service page covers that trip. When the reservation is made with the flight number, the dispatcher sees the airport code and the terminal and does not have to guess.
What terminal is Delta at Pearson?
Delta uses Terminal 3. Delta's flights from Toronto are mostly short hops to its US hubs, so many passengers are on a tight same-day business schedule: out on an early departure, back on an evening flight. That pattern suits an hourly chauffeur in Toronto on the return leg if the evening includes a dinner or a second stop, or a simple one-way car at each end if it does not. For a US-bound departure, allow for the extra border formalities when you choose a pickup time; the airline and the airport both publish guidance on how early to arrive, and that guidance beats any rule of thumb.
What terminal is Air Canada at Pearson?
Air Canada uses Terminal 1, the building that also handles United, Lufthansa, Swiss, Turkish, Emirates and the other carriers on the left-hand side of the table above. Terminal 1 is also where the UP Express train station is, at the end of the line from Union Station. If you are on Air Canada and staying downtown, the UP Express can be a sensible solo option; our UP Express vs limo guide compares the two honestly. If you are connecting from Air Canada to a Terminal 3 airline, or the other way round, you will need the Terminal Link train between the buildings (more on that below).
What terminal is WestJet at Pearson?
WestJet flies from Terminal 3. With domestic, US and holiday flights in the mix, the Terminal 3 departures curb can be crowded at the start of school breaks and on long-weekend Fridays. Build that into your pickup time. For families heading south with car seats, bulky luggage and a stroller, a Pearson airport limo in an SUV or Sprinter is usually easier than splitting into two cars; child seats are available at booking and the chauffeur fits them before you get in.
What terminal is United at Pearson?
United Airlines uses Terminal 1. A practical tip from the dispatch desk: travellers often assume all US airlines share a building at Pearson. They do not. United is at Terminal 1, while American, Delta, Alaska and Sun Country are at Terminal 3. If you are booking a car for a colleague, copy the flight number rather than the airline name into the reservation, because it removes any doubt about the terminal.
What terminal is KLM or Air France at Pearson?
KLM and Air France both use Terminal 3. So do several other European airlines on the list, including British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Aer Lingus, Iberia, Finnair, Icelandair, Condor and Scandinavian Airlines. Transatlantic arrivals that land in the afternoon put the drive into the city in the evening peak. If you land on KLM or Air France and head downtown, allow the upper end of the 25–45 minute range, or longer on a snowy weekday.
Why does knowing the terminal matter for a car pickup?
The two terminals are separate buildings with separate arrivals curbs, and the pre-arranged pickup area is at Door A in each terminal, per Toronto Pearson's pre-arranged services page. A car waiting at Terminal 1 Door A cannot see a passenger standing at Terminal 3 Door A, and the drive between the two curbs is not a quick hop at peak times because it means leaving one terminal's road system and joining the other's. Arrivals also involve the airport's own traffic officers, who keep the curb moving. That is why we ask for the flight number. With it, dispatch knows the airline, the terminal, the scheduled and actual landing time, and whether the flight was diverted or moved. Without it, everyone is relying on a guess.

What if you go to the wrong terminal at Pearson?
It happens more often than people admit, usually because of a codeshare ticket or an old habit. If you are already inside the airport, use the Terminal Link train, which connects the terminals; follow the airport signs to it rather than leaving the building and looking for a taxi. If you are on the arrivals side and your chauffeur is waiting at the other building, message or call the number on your booking confirmation and stay where you are: it is usually quicker for the car to reposition than for you to cross with luggage. If you are still on the road to the airport, simply tell the chauffeur. Changing the drop-off terminal from the back seat costs a few minutes at most.
How does the chauffeur use your flight number?
The flight number does three jobs. First, it tells dispatch which terminal to send the car to, from the operating airline. Second, it lets us track the flight live, so a delay or early arrival moves the pickup automatically and you are not paying for a car that waited for a late plane. Third, it starts the included waiting time at the right moment: 30 minutes after actual landing on Canadian domestic and US flights, and 60 minutes after landing on other international arrivals, then 15-minute blocks if needed. For departures, the flight number tells the chauffeur which departures door to aim for. Add any extra detail that helps: a connecting flight, a wheelchair request with the airline, oversized bags or a second traveller on a different flight.
Where do pre-booked cars pick up at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3?
At both terminals the designated pickup area for pre-arranged taxis and limos is at Door A on the arrivals level, per the airport's official page. Inside, near Door A, there is a pre-arranged services desk. The airport's guidance is to go to the designated area and tell the dispatcher that you are waiting for a pre-arranged ride. Curbside pickup at that area is what our fare includes. If you would rather be met inside arrivals by a chauffeur holding a name board, add meet and greet at booking; it is an optional extra, not the default, and our blog explains how Pearson meet and greet works. Our Pearson terminal pickup guide walks through each terminal step by step, from the aircraft door to the car.
How far is Pearson from downtown Toronto and the GTA?
Both terminals sit in the same airport complex in Mississauga, so the distance barely changes between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3; what changes is the last few minutes on airport roads. These are typical planning figures; the reservation engine shows the exact fixed fare for your address, date, time and vehicle.
| From | To Pearson (YYZ), T1 or T3 | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| Downtown Toronto (Union Station) | about 27 km | 25–45 min |
| Billy Bishop airport (YTZ) | about 30 km | 30–45 min |
| Yorkville & Midtown | about 25 km | 25–40 min |
| Etobicoke | about 12 km | 15–25 min |
| North York | about 20 km | 20–35 min |
| Scarborough | about 40 km | 35–50 min |
| Mississauga City Centre | about 12 km | 15–25 min |
| Brampton | about 20 km | 20–30 min |
| Vaughan | about 25 km | 20–35 min |
| Markham | about 40 km | 30–45 min |
| Oakville | about 30 km | 25–40 min |
| Hamilton | about 60 km | 40–60 min |
From downtown the usual routes are the Gardiner Expressway to Highway 427, or Highway 401 west to the 427. Check Ontario 511 for closures before a tight departure. If the planned route uses the 407 ETR, the toll is included in our fixed fare. Our downtown Toronto to Pearson airport route page covers that drive in detail.
How early should you leave for a Pearson departure?
There is no single answer, and we will not invent one. Start from your airline's own check-in and bag-drop deadlines, which differ by airline, by route and by whether you are flying domestic, to the US or internationally. Add the time to clear security on a busy day. Then add the drive from the table above, using the top of the range for weekday rush hours (roughly 7–9:30 a.m. and 3–7 p.m.), long-weekend Fridays, snow, and game or concert nights downtown. Give us that target arrival time at the curb and dispatch works back to a pickup time. Our post on how early to arrive at Pearson sets out the thinking in more detail. When in doubt, leave earlier: an extra half-hour in a lounge beats a sprint to the gate.
Codeshares, connections and two-airline trips: which terminal applies?
If your ticket is sold by one airline but flown by another, the terminal belongs to the airline operating the flight, which your booking or boarding pass shows. Some itineraries also connect between a Terminal 1 airline and a Terminal 3 airline. In that case allow time for the Terminal Link train, re-checking bags if the itinerary requires it, and security again if you leave the secure area. For travellers being picked up after a connection that ends at Pearson, put the final flight number in the booking. If your last leg is to Billy Bishop instead, or you land at Pearson and need to get to the island airport, we also drive Pearson to Billy Bishop, about 30 km.

Which car suits your flight and your luggage?
The terminal does not change the car, but the trip does. A solo business traveller with a carry-on fits a business sedan or the Tesla Model Y (2 passengers, 2 bags) or a first-class sedan. A couple with two large cases each, or a family of four, needs an SUV (6 passengers, 4 bags) or a premier luxury SUV. Ski bags, golf clubs, a cello or a group of colleagues point to a Sprinter: the 7-seat executive Sprinter, the 6-seat first-class Sprinter, or the 12-seat Sprinter van. Compare the classes on our fleet page.
When does an hourly chauffeur beat a one-way Pearson run?
When the flight is only the start of the day. If you land at Terminal 3 on Delta at 9 a.m., have meetings on Bay Street and in Vaughan, and fly out of Terminal 1 on Air Canada that evening, a one-way car at each end plus taxis in between is a lot of waiting on curbs. A chauffeur kept by the hour (3-hour minimum for sedans, SUVs and Sprinters, then 30-minute blocks) collects you at the pre-arranged area, holds your bags in the car all day and drops you at the right departures door at the end. The same logic works for a family arrival that continues to a hotel, a lunch and a relative's house. See our hourly chauffeur service and book it in the same reservation engine.
How do you book a Pearson car to the right terminal?
- Open the reservation engine on any page or at /book/.
- Choose airport pickup or drop-off and pick Toronto Pearson (YYZ).
- Enter the flight number; dispatch reads the terminal from the operating airline.
- Choose the vehicle class for your passengers and bags, and add meet and greet or child seats if you want them.
- See the fixed, all-in fare (chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, tolls on the planned route, airport fees and gratuity; HST shown separately) before you confirm.
