Yes, you can book a Toronto car service with a car seat. When you reserve with TorontoBlackLimousine.com, add an infant seat, a toddler seat or a booster seat for each child at /book/. The chauffeur installs the seats before reaching your door or the airport curb. The fare is fixed and all-in before you confirm, tolls included, and there is no meter and no surge.
Can I get a taxi with a car seat in Toronto?
Parents searching for a taxi with a car seat in Toronto usually find the same answer: the street taxi or airport-stand cab will not have one, and the driver is not required to provide one. Ontario's rules on choosing a child car seat say that taxicab drivers carrying passengers for hire are exempt from the child seat requirements. That exemption protects the driver from a ticket. It does nothing for your child in a collision on the 401.
A pre-booked chauffeured car is the practical answer. You tell us at booking how many children are travelling and which seat each one needs, and the seats travel in the car to your pickup, already fitted. You are not hauling a bulky seat through the terminal, waiting at the curb while a driver searches the trunk, or strapping a seat in with a queue of cars honking behind you.
Ride-hailing apps are the other place parents look, which is why "uber car seat toronto" is such a common search. Availability of a seat on an app depends on which drivers happen to be nearby at that moment. With us the seat is part of the reservation itself: the booking engine lists infant, toddler and booster seats as add-ons, and dispatch assigns a vehicle with room for every seat you request.
Which car seats can I book?
The reservation engine offers three types. Choose one per child, and give each child's age, weight and height in the booking notes so the right seat and the right size are fitted.
| Seat on the booking form | Usually suits | How it is installed |
|---|---|---|
| Infant seat | Newborns and babies who must ride rear-facing | Rear-facing, in the back seat |
| Toddler seat | Toddlers and young children who have outgrown the infant seat | Forward-facing with a harness, or rear-facing where the child still fits |
| Booster seat | Children who have outgrown the harnessed seat, until they fit the adult seatbelt | Lifts the child so the vehicle's seatbelt sits correctly |
If your child is between stages, tell us. A coordinator would rather confirm the seat with you by phone than guess. Parents who prefer their own seat are welcome to bring it; mention it at booking so the chauffeur leaves room and allows a few extra minutes at the curb for you to install it the way you are used to.
What does Ontario law say about car seats and booster seats?
Ontario's guidance is clear on the basics. Children under the age of 8 must be secured in the correct child car seat or booster seat, and everyone under 16 must wear a seatbelt. A booster seat is required for a child under 8 who weighs 18 to 36 kg (40 to 80 lb) and is under 145 cm (4 ft 9 in) tall. A child can move to the seatbelt alone after reaching any one of these: turning 8, weighing 36 kg (80 lb), or standing 145 cm (4 ft 9 in) or taller.
As noted above, the province exempts taxicab drivers carrying passengers for hire from these rules. We do not lean on exemptions. If you book a child seat with us, the seat is fitted and used. If you tell us a child under 8 is travelling and do not add a seat, dispatch will contact you before the trip to confirm what you want.
For the wider safety picture, including seat stages, recalls and how long a seat stays safe after manufacture, Transport Canada's child car seat safety pages are the national reference. They are worth reading if you are bringing your own seat from abroad, because seats sold in other countries may not meet Canadian standards.

How does a Pearson airport pickup with a car seat work?
This is where a pre-booked car with child seats helps most. After a long flight with a baby and a toddler, the last thing you want is a taxi line and an argument about whether the cab has a seat.
- Book and add the seats. Enter your flight number, the number of adults and children, your bags and one seat per child at /book/.
- We track the flight. An early or late landing moves the pickup time automatically. Included waiting is 30 minutes on Canadian domestic and US flights and 60 minutes on other international arrivals, counted from actual landing.
- Seats are fitted before arrival. The chauffeur installs them before reaching the terminal, so the car is ready when you walk out.
- Meet at the curb or inside. Pre-arranged vehicles at Pearson use the designated area at Door A in Terminal 1 and Door A in Terminal 3. If you would rather have the chauffeur meet you inside arrivals with a name board and help with the stroller and cases, add meet & greet at booking.
Downtown Toronto to Pearson is about 27 km, usually 25 to 45 minutes. Our Pearson airport page and the terminal pickup guide explain each terminal's curb, and the terminal finder tells you whether your airline flies from Terminal 1 or Terminal 3.
What about Billy Bishop, Union Station and the other airports?
The same booking works everywhere we drive. At Billy Bishop (YTZ) the pickup is at the Eireann Quay pavilion, about 3 km from the Financial District, and the pedestrian tunnel's moving walkways make the walk easier with a stroller. At Union Station the chauffeur meets VIA, GO and UP Express arrivals at the station. For families flying into Buffalo (BUF) or Hamilton for a cheaper fare, a car with child seats turns a long drive into a calm one, and on cross-border trips the whole family is inspected together.
Which vehicle fits our family, seats and luggage?
Child seats take up seat width and families carry more luggage than they expect. Choose the vehicle for the whole load, not just the head count.
| Family | Usual vehicle | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Two adults, one child, two cases | Business sedan | One child seat behind the passenger seat, cases in the trunk |
| Two adults, two children, checked bags, stroller | Executive SUV | Seats up to six with luggage space behind; room for two child seats |
| Two families, or grandparents travelling too | Mercedes-Benz Sprinter | 7, 6 or 12 seats; several child seats plus a full load of bags |
| Wheelchair user in the group | Wheelchair-accessible vehicle | Available when booked in advance |
A family of four with checked bags, two carry-ons and a stroller is an SUV load, not a sedan load. For two families arriving together, or a group heading to a destination wedding, a Sprinter keeps everyone in one vehicle. If you are unsure, list the children's ages and every bag in the booking notes and dispatch will confirm the fit before the day. Our black sedan page and the fleet overview show every class.

How are the car seats checked and installed?
Parents ask this first, and they should. The chauffeur looks the seat over before installing it, fits it following the seat maker's instructions and the vehicle's anchors, and checks that it is firm before you arrive. If you have a specific concern, such as the seat's age or a preferred brand, mention it at booking, or bring your own seat if you would rather use one you know.
We still encourage every parent to do the same quick check they would do at home: harness snug, chest clip at armpit level on a harnessed seat, and the shoulder belt crossing the middle of the shoulder on a booster. If anything does not feel right, tell the chauffeur before moving off. Adjusting a seat at the curb takes a minute; doing it on the highway is not possible.
How much does a car service with a car seat cost?
We do not publish price lists. The reservation engine shows the fixed, all-in fare before you confirm: the chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR tolls if used, airport fees and gratuity, with HST shown separately. Child seats are selected on the same screen, so the total you see already reflects them. The fare changes with the vehicle class, the distance and time, extra stops, waiting beyond the included time, the date and optional extras such as meet & greet. Our how our fares work page explains the structure, and booking direct means no app commission.
Can we book car seats for hourly trips, day trips and events?
Yes. Child seats are not just for airport runs. Families book them for:
- Day trips to Niagara Falls (about 130 km, 85 to 110 minutes), wine country or cottage country, where a fixed hourly booking means you stop when the children need to stop. See our Niagara Falls tours, Niagara wine country and Muskoka cottage country pages.
- Family occasions such as christenings, weddings where the flower girl and ring bearer ride with the family, and grandparents' milestone birthdays. Our wedding limo page covers the day.
- Hospital discharges and appointments, when a newborn's first ride home should be calm and properly secured.
- City outings to the zoo, the CN Tower or a Blue Jays game, using our hourly chauffeur service so the car waits for you.
For partner vehicles such as stretch limousines and party buses, ask the coordinator before booking: children ride as counted passengers, and child seats are supplied on our own sedans, SUVs and Sprinters.
What should I tell you when I book?
The more we know, the smoother the pickup:
- Each child's age, weight and height, and the seat you want for each.
- Whether you are bringing your own seat for any child.
- Strollers, playpens, car-seat bases and any oversized bags.
- Your flight or train number for arrivals, so the pickup follows the real landing time.
- Any extra stop, for example collecting grandparents on the way.
Cancellation follows our sitewide policy: more than 72 hours before pickup is free; 72 hours or less is 10 %; 48 hours or less is 50 %; 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100 %. Pets need prior approval, and service animals are welcome when mentioned at booking.
Why book with TorontoBlackLimousine.com rather than a cab?
A cab is quick when it is one adult and a carry-on. With small children the comparison changes: a pre-booked car with seats installed, a chauffeur who tracks your flight, winter tires from late autumn, a fixed fare and a vehicle sized for your luggage. Our honest comparison of Pearson airport taxi vs limo covers the other situations, and for arrivals with relatives from abroad our family arrivals and reunions page helps plan several pickups at once.
