The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair runs 6 to 15 November 2026 at the Enercare Centre and Coca-Cola Coliseum, Exhibition Place, about 4 km and 10 to 20 minutes from Union Station and about 25 km and 25 to 40 minutes from Pearson. Exhibitors and judges usually keep an SUV by the hour for the week; visitors book a return trip or a half-day chauffeur.
The Royal is two events sharing one week: a working agricultural and equestrian competition with early starts in the barns, and a public fair with families, school groups and evening horse-show crowds. This post covers both sides from the transport angle. For the venue-by-venue convention guide, see our conventions and trade shows in Toronto page; for the fair's visitor basics, our Royal Winter Fair limo page.
Royal Agricultural Winter Fair: what are the 2026 dates and hours?
The Royal's plan-a-visit page lists the 2026 fair for 6 to 15 November at Exhibition Place, in the Coca-Cola Coliseum and the Enercare Centre at 100 Princes' Boulevard. It lists hours of 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays and Mondays and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday, and a total daily capacity of 30,000 guests. Royal Horse Show sessions in the Coliseum carry their own ticketed times.
Check the Royal's official site before booking, because hours and session times are set each year. Book the car once you hold tickets.
Who travels to the Royal, and what does each group need?
| Traveller | Typical day | Best booking | Vehicle |
|---|---|---|---|
| Livestock exhibitor or breeder | Barns from early morning, late finish | Hourly, all week | SUV |
| Equestrian competitor or groom | Stabling, warm-ups, evening classes | Hourly or daily transfers | SUV or Sprinter |
| Judge or official | Fixed ring schedule, hotel to arena | Return transfers | First-class sedan |
| Sponsor hosting guests | Reception, horse show, dinner | Hourly evening | Premier luxury SUV or Sprinter |
| Family visitors | Daytime barns and food hall | Return or half day | SUV with child seats |
| School or 4-H group | Fixed arrival and departure | Coordinated group plan | Sprinter or partner coach |
How do exhibitors and breeders use a car during fair week?
They live on a different clock from visitors. Livestock exhibitors are often in the barns well before the doors open at 9 a.m. and leave after the evening chores. Many stay at Pearson-area or downtown hotels and need a reliable morning run, a mid-day trip to a supplier, and a ride back late.
An hourly chauffeur in Toronto held for the day, from a 3-hour minimum with extra time in 30-minute blocks, covers that. Some exhibitors book the same SUV every day of the fair, so the chauffeur learns the call times and the barn entrance by the second morning. Animals, feed and equipment travel with the exhibitor's own transport, never in our vehicles.
What about equestrian competitors and their teams?
Riders, grooms and owners at the Royal Horse Show keep evening hours in the Coliseum and morning hours with the horses. A team might need a hotel run at 6 a.m., a ride to a tack or feed supplier during the day, and a late return after an evening class. Owners who fly in for a single class need a precise arrival and a quick exit.
For a team of four to seven with kit bags, a Sprinter by the hour works well; for an owner flying in, a flight-tracked transfer from Pearson in a first-class sedan. Riding gear in bags is fine in the vehicle; saddles and tack in their cases fit an SUV or Sprinter if you tell us at booking.
How far is Exhibition Place from where Royal visitors stay?
Typical planning figures to the Enercare Centre, from downtown, Pearson and the places Royal visitors often start:
- Financial District hotels: about 4 km, 10 to 20 minutes.
- Yorkville: about 7 km, 15 to 25 minutes.
- Toronto Pearson (YYZ): about 25 km, 25 to 40 minutes.
- Pearson-area hotels on Dixon Road: about 24 km, 25 to 40 minutes.
- Guelph: about 95 km, 65 to 85 minutes.
- Barrie: about 95 km, 70 to 90 minutes.
- Kitchener-Waterloo: about 110 km, 75 to 95 minutes.
- Peterborough: about 140 km, 90 to 120 minutes.

How do farm families from across Ontario make a day of it?
The Royal draws visitors from farming communities right across the province, many of whom do not want to drive the 401 and the Gardiner in November traffic. An hourly booking covering the full day, from the farm gate or the town to the fair and back, keeps one car and chauffeur with the family, with rest built into the waiting time. For a very long day from eastern or northern Ontario, a second chauffeur can be arranged at booking, or the family can stay overnight downtown and book two shorter trips.
The travel desk can hold a downtown hotel room so nobody drives home after the evening horse show.

What does a visitor day look like with a chauffeur?
A worked example for a family of four from Oakville, about 35 km away:
- 9:15 a.m. SUV at the door with a booster seat booked in advance.
- 9:55 Set-down near the Enercare Centre; meeting point agreed in the main lobby.
- Morning Barns, demonstrations and the food hall.
- 1:30 p.m. Purchases handed to the chauffeur at the lobby door.
- 3:30 Collected before the after-school rush, home by about 4:15.
With a ticketed evening horse show, the same family would keep the car into the evening or book a return for 30 minutes after the session ends.
When is transit the better way to the Royal?
For a solo visitor or a couple travelling light from a GO station, often. The Royal's visitor page notes Exhibition GO on the Lakeshore West line, about every 30 minutes, and lists the 29 Dufferin bus and the 509 Harbourfront and 511 Bathurst streetcars. Check GO Transit on the day.
A car is better for families with strollers, grandparents, groups, visitors carrying purchases, and anyone leaving after an evening session in November weather.
Is parking a realistic option during the Royal?
The Royal lists surface lots and the Enercare Centre's indoor garage, and Exhibition Place lists about 5,400 spaces across the grounds. But the Royal itself warns that parking is not guaranteed, because the grounds host other events at the same time. On Saturdays and horse-show evenings, the lots and the exits are at their busiest.
A chauffeured drop avoids the search and the long walk from a far lot. Our sibling post on Enercare Centre drop-off and parking compares the two in detail.
How should sponsors run a horse-show hospitality evening?
As one plan with a coordinator: guests collected from their hotels in sedans or a Sprinter, set down in time for the reception, collected after the session, and taken to dinner or straight to their hotels. The host keeps an hourly premier luxury SUV to move between the box, the reception and the restaurant. Alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles, so drinks stay at the reception and nobody has to drive. Our corporate events and galas page explains manifests and staggered pickups.
What November conditions should everyone plan for?
- Early darkness by about 5 p.m.; agree a lit, indoor meeting point.
- First snow and freezing rain on the Gardiner and Lake Shore Boulevard; our cars run winter tires from November to April.
- Other events on the grounds, such as a BMO Field date, loading the same roads.
- School-group peaks on weekday mornings.
- Closing-time crowds at 6 or 8 p.m.; waiting ten minutes in the lobby while the first wave clears often gets you home sooner.
How should judges and officials be scheduled?
Judges and ring officials work to a published class schedule, which makes them the easiest Royal travellers to plan for and the least tolerant of delay. Book a return transfer for each day with the pickup timed to the first class they judge, plus 30 minutes for the drive and check-in, and a collection time agreed with the show office. A first-class sedan gives a quiet ride to review the class list. Officials flying in from abroad should add the flight number so the chauffeur tracks it; included waiting is 60 minutes from landing on international arrivals other than US flights. If a session overruns, the chauffeur simply waits; on a return booking, extra waiting is charged in 15-minute blocks.
What do school and 4-H groups need to plan?
A fixed arrival, a fixed departure and a headcount. School groups usually arrive on weekday mornings, which is also when the grounds are busiest with other groups, so the set-down point and the meeting point for the return must be agreed with the teacher in charge before the day. A 12-seat Sprinter suits a small class or club; larger groups travel in a 55-seat coach from a vetted partner operator, coordinated in writing. Child seats are available at booking for younger children in smaller vehicles. Send the group list and the departure time to dispatch the day before, and name an adult with a mobile phone as the contact on the day.
Can visitors with mobility needs get close to the halls?
Yes. The chauffeur sets down at the closest point grounds staff allow for passenger cars on the day. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available when booked in advance; tell us about the wheelchair or scooter at booking. Chauffeurs also fold and stow wheelchairs and walkers for passengers who can transfer to a seat. The Royal notes accessible parking across the grounds and complimentary admission for a support person with an Access 2 card.
What else is on in Toronto that week?
The Royal opens the holiday season. The One of a Kind Show follows at the Enercare Centre later in November, and our trade shows Toronto 2026 calendar lists the other verified shows through March 2027. Visitors with a spare morning add the Hockey Hall of Fame or the CN Tower, both a few minutes from Exhibition Place by car.
How do I book transport for the Royal?
Open the reservation engine on any page or go to /book/, enter Exhibition Place and your pickup address, choose a return, a full day or an hourly booking and a vehicle class, and the fixed fare appears before you confirm. It includes the chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, tolls on the planned route and gratuity, with HST shown separately. Groups and exhibitor teams needing several vehicles can ask a coordinator for a written plan.
