The Scarborough Bluffs Toronto shoreline runs about 15 km along Lake Ontario through eleven city parks. Bluffer's Park, at 1 Brimley Road South, is about 20 km from downtown (30–45 minutes by car) and about 45 km from Pearson (YYZ), 40–60 minutes. Several Bluffs parks have street parking only, so a chauffeured car is the easy option. Book a car or hourly chauffeur direct.
How does a car service to the Scarborough Bluffs Toronto work?
You book a car and a professional chauffeur in our reservation engine, either one way or by the hour, and the fixed, all-in fare appears before you confirm: chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, any 407 ETR tolls, airport fees and gratuity, with HST shown separately. For a beach afternoon at Bluffer's Park, a one-way drop and a booked return work well. For a sightseeing day along the cliffs, a photo shoot or a family outing that takes in two or three of the Bluffs parks, the hourly chauffeur service in Toronto is the better choice: one car and one driver for three hours or more, who drops you at one lookout and collects you at the next, so nobody walks back uphill to a distant parking lot.
Where are the Scarborough Bluffs, and which park should you visit?
The City of Toronto's Scarborough Bluffs page describes the Bluffs as stretching about 15 km along the Lake Ontario shore, from the Eastern Beaches in the west to East Point Park in the east, and lists eleven parks along them. The best known are Bluffer's Park at the foot of Brimley Road, with a swimming beach and marina; Cathedral Bluffs Park, near the highest part of the cliffs; Rosetta McClain Gardens on Kingston Road; Guild Park and Gardens on Guildwood Parkway; Sylvan Park, where the Doris McCarthy Trail descends through Gates Gully to the lake; and East Point Park at the eastern end. The city adds that the Bluffs formed from sedimentary deposits laid down more than 12,000 years ago and shaped by wind and water erosion.
How far are the Bluffs from downtown Toronto and from Pearson?
These are planning figures from our dispatch notes; the engine quotes your exact route and fare.
| From | To | Distance | Typical drive |
|---|---|---|---|
| Union Station / Financial District | Bluffer's Park (1 Brimley Rd S) | about 20 km | 30–45 min |
| Yorkville & Midtown | Bluffer's Park | about 20 km | 30–45 min |
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ) | Bluffer's Park | about 45 km | 40–60 min |
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ) | Guild Park and Gardens | about 48 km | 40–60 min |
| Bluffer's Park | Rosetta McClain Gardens | about 3 km | 6–10 min |
| Bluffer's Park | Guild Park and Gardens | about 8 km | 12–18 min |
| Guild Park and Gardens | East Point Park | about 10 km | 15–20 min |
| Bluffer's Park | Toronto Zoo | about 22 km | 25–35 min |
From downtown, the chauffeur usually takes Lake Shore Boulevard or the Gardiner east and then Kingston Road; from Pearson, the 401 east to Kennedy Road or Brimley Road and then south. Summer weekend traffic on Kingston Road and on the road down into Bluffer's Park adds time.
Is there parking at the Scarborough Bluffs?
Some, but not much, and it is the most common reason clients book a car here. The city's list shows parking lots at Bluffer's Park, Cudia Park, East Point Park and Rosetta McClain Gardens, a lot under construction at Guild Park and Gardens, no lot at Scarborough Heights Park, and street parking only at Cathedral Bluffs, Grey Abbey, Scarboro Crescent, South Marine Drive and Sylvan parks. It also reminds visitors that parking on the grass is not allowed. On a hot summer weekend, the lots at Bluffer's Park can fill early, and the residential streets near the clifftop parks are narrow. A chauffeur avoids all of it: you are set down at the park, the car waits nearby or repositions, and you text when you are ready.

Where does the chauffeur drop off and pick up?
It depends on the park. At Bluffer's Park, the car drives down Brimley Road South to the park and sets you down near the beach or the marina, traffic permitting. At the clifftop parks, such as Cathedral Bluffs, Scarborough Heights and Sylvan Park, the chauffeur stops on the street at the park entrance, because those parks have no lot. Guild Park's lot was listed as under construction when we checked the city's page today, so the chauffeur uses the entrance on Guildwood Parkway. We do not promise a particular curb or space, but the chauffeur texts the exact spot when the car is in position. If anyone in the group has limited mobility, say so at booking: Bluffer's Park, at lake level, is the most accessible choice, while several lakefront trails from the clifftop are steep.
Is it safe to walk near the edge of the Bluffs?
Take the city's warning seriously. Its page states plainly that the edge of the Bluffs is unstable, asks visitors to stay behind the fences, and says not to approach the edge. The cliffs keep eroding, so conditions change from season to season. Enjoy the views from the designated lookouts and the beaches below, keep children close, and do not climb the cliff faces. For the trails that descend to the lake, the city lists access from East Point Park (starting at the end of Beechgrove Drive and Copperfield Road), from Scarborough Heights Park (by the west service road) and from Sylvan Park via the Doris McCarthy Trail through Gates Gully. The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority manages much of the shoreline and publishes updates on works and closures.
When is the best time to visit the Scarborough Bluffs?
Late spring to early autumn is the main season, with the beach at Bluffer's Park busiest on hot summer weekends. Weekday mornings are the calmest, and early evening brings the best light on the pale cliffs, which is why photographers book late-afternoon pickups. Autumn is quieter and still beautiful. In winter the parks are bleak but dramatic, and the paths can be icy; the chauffeur will tell you which lookouts are worth the walk. The city does not post a single "best" date, and conditions on the water and the trails change, so check the City of Toronto site and the weather before you go. For swimming, check the city's beach water-quality updates on the day.
What does an hourly chauffeur day along the Bluffs look like?
The parks are spread over 15 km, which is exactly why one car with a chauffeur works well. A sample five-hour plan from downtown:
- 13:00 Pickup at your hotel; about 20 km (30–45 minutes) east to Rosetta McClain Gardens on Kingston Road for the lake view.
- 14:00 Bluffer's Park, about 3 km (6–10 minutes), for the beach and the view of the cliffs from below.
- 15:30 Guild Park and Gardens, about 8 km (12–18 minutes), with its collection of architectural fragments from demolished Toronto buildings.
- 16:45 Sylvan Park and the top of the Doris McCarthy Trail, about 3 km (5–8 minutes), for a short walk and the evening light.
- 17:45 Back downtown along Kingston Road, or dinner on the Danforth on the way.

Can you go from Pearson Airport straight to the Bluffs?
Yes, although it is one of the longer cross-city runs from the airport: about 45 km and typically 40 to 60 minutes along the 401, more in weekday rush hour. The chauffeur tracks your flight and meets you at Pearson's pre-arranged pickup area on the arrivals-level curb (see Toronto Pearson's pre-arranged services page); a meet and greet inside arrivals is an optional add-on at booking. Included waiting is 30 minutes for Canadian domestic and US flights and 60 minutes for other international arrivals, from actual landing. Visitors staying with family in Scarborough often ask for a short detour to the Bluffs on the way home from the airport; on an hourly booking that is easy to arrange. Our Scarborough car service page covers airport runs from the area.
Is public transit or a car better for reaching the Bluffs?
Transit reaches the area, but not always the parks themselves. GO Transit and VIA Rail serve Guildwood station, about 3 km from Guild Park and Gardens, and TTC buses run along Kingston Road, but Bluffer's Park sits at the bottom of a long hill and the clifftop parks are scattered through residential streets. For a solo walker with time, transit plus a walk works. For families with beach gear, older relatives, photographers with equipment, a wedding party or anyone combining several parks, a car is far easier. A chauffeur also solves the uphill problem: walk down to the lake at one park and be collected at another.
Are the Bluffs good for wedding, engagement and graduation photos?
They are among the most photographed places in the city, especially Bluffer's Park and the clifftop gardens, and we drive many wedding and engagement parties here. A chauffeured car keeps the group together, carries outfits, bouquets and props, and moves you between the beach and a garden setting without anyone hunting for parking. Check the city's rules for any permits that organised photo shoots may require, and stay well back from the cliff edges for every shot. Our wedding limo service covers wedding-day timing, and our graduation and convocation page covers celebratory photo outings. A premier luxury SUV or a Sprinter luxury van suits most wedding parties.
What should you bring for a day at the Bluffs?
Pack for the lake rather than the city. The wind off Lake Ontario makes the shoreline cooler than downtown, even in July, so a light layer helps. Wear proper walking shoes if you plan to use a trail down from the clifftop, because the descents are steep and sandy in places. Bring water, sunscreen and a hat for the beach at Bluffer's Park, and a bag for your rubbish, since bins fill quickly on busy days. Swimmers should check the city's beach water-quality notices before going in. Leave valuables in the car: on an hourly booking it stays with the chauffeur, locked, while you are on the beach. And keep your phone charged, because the chauffeur will text the pickup point, and signal can be patchy at the foot of the cliffs.
Which vehicle is best for a Scarborough Bluffs trip?
A couple travels comfortably in a business sedan or the all-electric Tesla Model Y. Families of four to six with beach chairs, coolers and towels book an SUV, which also handles the steep road down to Bluffer's Park comfortably. Groups of seven to twelve book an Executive Sprinter or a Sprinter luxury van. Very large groups travel by 55-seat coach through our partner network, priced in writing by a coordinator, though coaches cannot reach every clifftop park. Infant, convertible and booster seats can be added when you book.
What else is near the Bluffs to combine in one day?
Scarborough's east side has more to offer than most visitors expect. The Toronto Zoo is about 22 km north-east of Bluffer's Park, typically 25 to 35 minutes, and Rouge National Urban Park is next door to the zoo, with trails and a beach at the mouth of the Rouge River. On the way back downtown, the Danforth's Greek restaurants make an easy dinner stop, and in summer, usually August, the street hosts Taste of the Danforth; check the organiser's site for this year's dates. For an evening out east, the Pickering Casino Resort is about 25 km along the 401 (19+; transport only). For a complete contrast on the other side of the city, High Park is about 28 km west.
Where should visitors stay for the Bluffs?
Most visitors stay downtown and make the Bluffs a half-day trip, about 30 to 45 minutes each way by car. Those who want to be closer can look at our Scarborough hotels page, which covers transfers from the hotels near Highway 401 and Scarborough Town Centre, typically 15 to 20 minutes from Bluffer's Park. Families visiting relatives in the east end, and travellers combining the Bluffs with the zoo, often prefer that option. For flights, hotel rooms and packages, our travel desk handles the bookings, and the same dispatch desk schedules the cars from Pearson.
