A Taste of the Danforth limo from TorontoBlackLimousine.com is a black car, SUV or Sprinter booked to a cross street just outside the festival closure on Danforth Avenue, usually for an hourly chauffeur who waits and collects you when you are ready. Greektown is about 7 km, 15–25 minutes, from Union Station and about 35 km, 35–50 minutes, from Pearson. Book your festival car and the reservation engine shows the fixed fare first.
What is a Taste of the Danforth limo, and why book one?
It is simply private transport planned around the biggest street party in Greektown. The festival takes over Danforth Avenue for a whole weekend, so ordinary rides stall in the side streets while everyone tries to reach the same few corners. Booking a Taste of the Danforth limo means one chauffeur, one vehicle and one plan: the car meets you at home or at your hotel, drops you at an agreed corner outside the closed stretch, then waits somewhere quiet until you message. Most guests book the hourly chauffeur service in Toronto rather than two separate one-way rides, because the finishing time of a festival evening is never predictable and the ride home is the hard part.
When and where does the Taste of the Danforth happen?
Usually in early August, over a Friday-to-Sunday weekend; check the official site each year. In 2026 the festival returned after a two-year break and ran 7 to 9 August, with the organisers giving the boundaries as Danforth Avenue from Broadview Avenue to Jones Avenue. Friday opened in the evening and the weekend days ran from noon into the night, but hours can change from year to year, so confirm them on the Taste of the Danforth site or with the Greektown on the Danforth BIA before you set a pickup time. We never promise a date on this page; we plan your car around whatever the organisers publish.
How far is Greektown from downtown Toronto and Pearson?
Our dispatchers use these planning figures for Greektown. Traffic on festival evenings is heavier than normal on Broadview, Pape and the Don Valley Parkway, so add a margin.
| From | To Danforth & Pape area | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| Union Station / Financial District | about 7 km | 15–25 min |
| Yorkville & midtown hotels | about 7 km | 15–25 min |
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ) | about 35 km | 35–50 min |
| North York | about 14 km | 20–35 min |
| Scarborough | about 15 km | 20–35 min |
| Mississauga | about 38 km | 40–55 min |
| Markham / Richmond Hill | about 30 km | 30–45 min |
The exact fare for your address, date, time and vehicle appears in the reservation engine before you confirm, and it does not rise because a festival is on.
Which roads close for the festival?
The festival stretch of Danforth itself is closed to traffic for the weekend, and Toronto Police publish a road-closure notice before it starts. Side streets that meet the closure become pedestrian-heavy, some are barricaded, and TTC surface routes that cross Danforth may be diverted. We don't print a street-by-street list because it changes each year. Our dispatch team reads the current notice, checks Ontario 511 on the day, and gives your chauffeur a drop-off corner outside the barriers. If a closure moves at the last minute, the chauffeur adjusts and messages you the new spot.
Where should a car drop you off near Greektown?
A general rule works well: approach from the north or south on a through street, stop a short walk from the barrier, and walk the last block. Chauffeurs will not idle in a pedestrian crowd, and police can move vehicles on quickly near the closure. For guests coming from downtown, the approach usually runs up the DVP or along Gerrard and north on a cross street. From the west end, Bloor Street to the Prince Edward Viaduct is direct until it meets the festival edge. We confirm the exact corner by text before arrival. If someone in your party cannot walk far, tell us at booking so we look for the closest legal stopping point rather than the quickest one.
How does the ride home from Greektown work?
This is where the hourly booking earns its keep. When you are ready, you send a message; the chauffeur leaves the waiting spot and drives to the pickup corner you agreed, usually the same place as the drop-off so nobody gets lost. At the late end of Saturday, thousands of people leave together and ride-share pins drift into streets that are still closed. A chauffeur you already know, in a car already booked, avoids all of that. If your group splits, we can plan two pickup corners, one north and one south of Danforth, as long as we know in advance.
Is a subway ride easier than a car for the festival?
For a couple heading from a downtown hotel with no bags, Line 2 of the TTC to Broadview, Chester or Pape is quick and honest advice. A car wins when the group includes grandparents or small children, when you are coming from Pearson, the 905 region or a suburb without easy subway access, when you want to arrive dressed for dinner afterwards, or when the night ends late and nobody wants to stand on a crowded platform. Many families use both: subway in the afternoon, chauffeur home at night.
Can we keep the chauffeur for a whole festival evening?
Yes. Sedans, SUVs, vans and Sprinters book for 3 hours or more, and you can extend in 30-minute steps. A typical festival booking starts with a pickup at home, adds a stop to collect friends, drops everyone at the Danforth, waits three or four hours, then runs everybody home in a loop. The private chauffeur service page explains how an as-directed day works. The fare is fixed for the booked hours and shown before you confirm.
Which vehicle suits a festival group?
Pick by headcount and by how much you plan to carry home.
- Two guests: a business sedan or the first-class sedan for a date night that continues to a restaurant.
- Up to six: an SUV (Yukon XL or Suburban) or a premier luxury SUV.
- Seven: the Executive Sprinter with lounge seating.
- Up to twelve: the Sprinter luxury van, our usual choice for extended families.
- Parties of 20 or more: a party bus or coach from our vetted partner operators, priced in writing by a coordinator.
Large vehicles need more room to stop, so their drop-off corners are further from the barriers than a sedan's.
What about other Toronto street festivals?
The same plan works for the city's other summer street events: a neighbourhood closes a main street, crowds arrive on foot and the edges clog with cars. Whether it is a food weekend, a cultural parade or an open-street day, we read the organiser's notice and the city's closure list, choose a corner outside the barriers and keep the car nearby. Our pages on the Toronto Caribbean Carnival, Pride Toronto and NXNE and Yorkville summer events cover the bigger closures in detail.
How early should we book for festival weekend?
As soon as the organisers confirm the dates. Summer weekends in Toronto are already full of weddings, concerts at RBC Amphitheatre (formerly Budweiser Stage), ball games and Niagara day trips, and festival weekends stack on top. Sedans and SUVs are the easiest to find at short notice; Sprinters and partner party buses go first. Booking early also lets us plan your drop-off corner with the closure notice in hand. Our cancellation terms are the same all year: more than 72 hours before pickup costs nothing, 72 hours or less is 10 %, 48 hours or less is 50 % and 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100 %.
Visiting from out of town for the Danforth?
Plenty of guests plan a summer trip around the festival. We collect you curbside at Pearson with flight tracking, 30 minutes of included waiting on Canadian and US flights and 60 minutes on other international arrivals, then drive you to a hotel downtown or in the east end. Our downtown Toronto to Pearson car service page covers the airport side. For flights, rooms and packages, the travel desk can help you put the whole trip together, and a Greektown dinner on another night is an easy add to an hourly booking.
Which hotels are handy for Greektown?
The Danforth has few large hotels, so most visitors stay downtown and ride across. The Financial District, the Entertainment District and Yonge-Eaton Centre hotels are all 15–25 minutes from Danforth and Pape outside rush hour. See our guides to Financial District hotels and downtown Yonge and Eaton Centre hotels for pickup notes. Our chauffeur meets you at the hotel's front drive, which keeps the start of the evening calm.
Food, heat and summer comfort in the car
August evenings can be hot and humid, and people walk a long way at a street festival. Every car is cooled before you get in, and bottled water is on board. If you plan to carry food home, tell us: the chauffeur can lay down protection in the cargo area. Alcohol is not allowed in any of our vehicles, so the chauffeur will ask you to finish or leave any open drink at the curb before you climb in, which keeps the evening simple for everyone.
Children, strollers and car seats
Families are a big part of the festival afternoon crowd. Strollers fold into the cargo area of every SUV and Sprinter. Infant, convertible and booster seats are available at booking; tell us each child's age so the right seats are fitted before pickup. Afternoon visits with small children are often shorter than planned, which is another reason the hourly booking is useful: you can leave early without trying to find a ride from a crowded corner.
Why book direct with TorontoBlackLimousine.com?
Booking on our own site means one dispatch desk that knows the festival plan, no app and no aggregator commission. You pick the vehicle, see the fixed all-in fare with HST shown separately, and confirm. Your chauffeur's details arrive before pickup, and changes go straight to the people running the car. For bigger groups, the concert and game-day limo page shows how we handle crowd events generally.

Accessibility at a crowded street event
We have a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, available when booked in advance. For guests who can transfer to a seat, the chauffeur folds and stows wheelchairs and walkers and helps at the door. Tell us about the wheelchair or scooter at booking so that vehicle is reserved. At a festival, the most useful thing we can do is find a legal stopping point close to where you want to be and allow extra time at pickup; tell us about mobility needs when you book.
