High Park Toronto is about 9 km west of downtown (20–30 minutes by car) and about 20 km from Pearson (YYZ), 20–35 minutes. Visitor cars may drive into the park only Monday to Friday, not on statutory holidays or during peak cherry blossom time, so on weekends a chauffeur sets you down at a gate on Bloor Street West or Parkside Drive. Book a car or hourly chauffeur direct.
How does a car service to High Park Toronto work?
You book a car and a professional chauffeur through our reservation engine, either one way or by the hour, and you see the fixed, all-in fare before you confirm: chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, any 407 ETR tolls, airport fees and gratuity, with HST shown separately. For a simple drop at the park for a walk, a one-way booking is enough, and you book the return separately. For cherry blossom mornings, photo shoots, family picnics or a park visit combined with lunch and other sights, the hourly chauffeur service in Toronto is the better tool: one car and one driver kept for three hours or more, who drops you at one gate and collects you at another, so you can walk through the park in one direction without doubling back.
Where is High Park and how far is it from downtown and Pearson?
High Park sits in Toronto's west end, bounded by Bloor Street West to the north, Parkside Drive to the east and The Queensway to the south, with Grenadier Pond along its western side. The figures below are typical, not guaranteed; your quote in the engine uses the real addresses.
| From | To High Park (Bloor St W gate) | Typical drive |
|---|---|---|
| Union Station / Financial District | about 9 km | 20–30 min |
| Entertainment District hotels | about 8 km | 18–28 min |
| Yorkville & Bloor Street | about 7 km | 15–25 min |
| Billy Bishop Airport (Eireann Quay) | about 8 km | 15–25 min |
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ), Terminal 1 or 3 | about 20 km | 20–35 min |
| Etobicoke Airport Corporate Centre hotels | about 15 km | 18–28 min |
| Mississauga City Centre | about 22 km | 25–35 min |
| Scarborough Bluffs (Bluffer's Park) | about 28 km | 35–50 min |
From Pearson, the usual route is Highway 427 south to the Gardiner Expressway eastbound and up Parkside Drive, or across the city on Bloor Street on quieter days.
When can cars drive into High Park?
The City of Toronto's High Park page is clear on this, and it shapes every booking. Visitor vehicles are permitted inside the park from Monday to Friday, except on statutory holidays and during the peak cherry blossom period. On those days, the main entrance for visitor vehicles is at Parkside Drive and High Park Boulevard, and the main exit is at Bloor Street West and High Park Avenue, where cars may not enter. Vehicle access from The Queensway to the Children's Garden and Colborne Lodge is seasonal: seven days a week from October 1 to March 31, and Monday to Friday only from April 1 to September 30, without access through the park. West Road and part of Colborne Lodge Drive are car-free routes. In practice, our chauffeurs drive in on weekdays and set down at the edge of the park on weekends, holidays and blossom days.
Where does the chauffeur drop off and pick up at High Park?
On a weekday outside blossom season, the car can enter at Parkside Drive and High Park Boulevard and set you down near the Grenadier Café or the picnic areas. At other times, the chauffeur uses the park's edges. The city lists six paved or sidewalk entrances: Bloor Street West at High Park Avenue; Parkside Drive at Howard Park Avenue, at High Park Boulevard and at Spring Road; and The Queensway at Colborne Lodge Drive and at Ellis Park Road. The Bloor Street gate opposite High Park subway station is the usual choice for the north end, and The Queensway gates for Grenadier Pond and the south end. We do not promise a particular curb, because Bloor and Parkside are busy, but the chauffeur texts the exact spot when the car is in position. Tell us at booking if anyone in your group has limited mobility, so we pick the flattest entrance.

Is there parking at High Park, and is a chauffeur easier?
The city lists 276 parking spaces inside the park, except during the peak cherry blossom period: 142 at the Grenadier Café lot (including 10 accessible spaces) and 79 at the High Park Zoo lot, both Monday to Friday; 34 parallel spaces along the east side of Colborne Lodge Drive on weekdays; and 21 at the Spring Road lot seven days a week. It adds that more than 1,200 spaces are within 800 metres of the park in nearby municipal and private lots, with on-street parking on Bloor Street West and Parkside Drive. On a sunny weekend those fill quickly, and on blossom days there is no parking inside the park at all. A chauffeur turns the problem into a two-minute drop at the gate and a text when you are ready.
When do the High Park cherry blossoms bloom, and how do you plan a visit by car?
The city's cherry blossom page says Toronto's sakura trees bloom at the end of April to early May and points visitors to the High Park Nature Centre, which posts updates on the stages of the bloom. Peak bloom lasts only a few days and draws large crowds, and the park closes to visitor cars during the peak period. Our advice from the dispatch desk: book the car as soon as the bloom forecast firms up, go early in the morning on a weekday, and plan to walk in from a gate rather than expecting to drive close to the trees. A three-hour hourly booking covers the drive, an hour or so among the blossoms and a brunch nearby. The city also asks visitors not to climb the trees, pull branches or pick blooms, and to stay on existing trails.
What is there to do in High Park besides the blossoms?
Plenty, in every season. The city notes that about two-thirds of High Park remains in a natural state, with ravines, oak savannah and trails. Grenadier Pond, on the west side, is the park's best-known view. There is a small animal display, commonly called the High Park Zoo, the Grenadier Café, playgrounds, sports fields, an outdoor swimming pool in summer and Colborne Lodge, a historic house museum at the south end. Summer evenings bring outdoor theatre, and autumn colour on the slopes rivals the spring blossoms. Dogs are welcome on leash, with designated off-leash areas. For a family day, an hourly chauffeur lets you start at the north gate and finish at The Queensway after a long walk downhill.
How do autumn and winter visits to High Park differ?
Autumn is the quiet favourite of many Torontonians: the oaks and maples on the slopes above Grenadier Pond turn in October, the summer crowds have gone, and the weekday car rules still let the chauffeur drive in to the café lot. From October 1 to March 31, the city opens vehicle access from The Queensway to the Children's Garden and Colborne Lodge seven days a week, which makes the south end easier to reach on winter weekends than in summer. Winter brings its own cautions. The city notes that unpaved trails are not maintained in winter, so stick to the paved paths and wear proper boots, and allow extra driving time after snowfall, when Parkside Drive and The Queensway are slow. Our cars run on winter tires from November to April, and the chauffeur keeps the heat on so the car is warm when you come back from a frosty walk.
What does an hourly chauffeur day around High Park look like?
The west end pairs well with a few nearby stops. A sample five-hour plan:
- 8:30 Pickup at your downtown hotel; about 9 km (20–30 minutes) to the Bloor Street West gate.
- 9:00 Walk south through the park to the blossoms or Grenadier Pond. The chauffeur repositions to The Queensway.
- 10:45 Brunch on Roncesvalles Avenue or in Bloor West Village, each about 1–2 km away (5 minutes).
- 12:15 The lakefront at Humber Bay, about 4 km west (8–12 minutes), for the skyline view.
- 13:00 Casa Loma, about 9 km north-east (20–30 minutes), or back to the hotel.
Each hop is short, but parking at each one, particularly in blossom season, would eat the morning.
Is the subway or a car better for getting to High Park?
For a solo walker, the TTC works well: High Park station on Line 2 Bloor–Danforth is across Bloor Street from the north gate, Keele station is nearby, the 506 Carlton streetcar runs to the High Park Loop, and the city says the 203 High Park bus runs seasonally between High Park station and points inside the park. The TTC has schedules. A car is better for families with strollers and picnic gear, older relatives, photographers carrying equipment, visitors coming straight from Pearson with luggage, and groups. It is also better for a one-direction walk, because the chauffeur collects you at the far side of the park.
Can you go from Pearson Airport straight to High Park?
Yes. High Park is one of the closest major green spaces to the airport, about 20 km away and typically 20 to 35 minutes. On arrival day the flight is tracked, and the chauffeur meets you in the pre-arranged pickup area outside arrivals (as set out on Toronto Pearson's pre-arranged services page); a meet and greet inside arrivals is an optional add-on at booking. Waiting is included: 30 minutes for Canadian domestic and US flights and 60 minutes for other international arrivals. Luggage stays locked in the trunk on an hourly booking while you stretch your legs in the park, before the chauffeur takes you on to your hotel. It is a pleasant reset after a long flight, particularly in blossom season or autumn.

Is High Park good for wedding photos, proposals and engagement shoots?
Very, especially in blossom season and autumn, which is why photographers and couples book cars here every year. A chauffeured car keeps the wedding party together, carries dresses, shoes and props, and moves the group between photo locations without anyone hunting for parking. Remember that cars cannot enter the park on weekends or holidays, so plan to walk in from a gate, and check the city's rules for any permits that organised photo shoots may need. Our wedding limo service covers wedding-day timing, and our date night and proposals page covers quieter moments. For an anniversary picnic or a proposal under the blossoms, an SUV or a first-class sedan is the usual choice.
Which vehicle suits a High Park visit?
For two people, a business sedan or the electric Tesla Model Y. Families of four to six, with strollers, picnic hampers and blankets, book an SUV or a premier luxury SUV. Groups of seven to twelve, including school groups, photo crews and wedding parties, book an Executive Sprinter or a Sprinter luxury van. Note that large vehicles stop at the park's edge on weekends just like cars, so the Sprinter drops you at a gate. Child seats are available at booking. If a guest uses a wheelchair and can transfer to a seat, the chauffeur folds and stows it.
Where should visitors stay for easy access to High Park?
The west end has fewer hotels than downtown, so most visitors stay downtown and drive out. The Entertainment District and King West hotels are about 8 km away, and the Airport Corporate Centre and Etobicoke hotels are about 15 km, convenient for travellers with early flights. Our Etobicoke car service page covers the neighbourhoods west of the park. For a trip planned around the blossoms, with flights and rooms booked together, our travel desk handles the reservations, and spring events such as Doors Open Toronto can round out a weekend in the city.
What other parks and gardens do Toronto clients combine with High Park?
Toronto's green spaces are spread out, which suits a chauffeured day. Edwards Gardens and the Toronto Botanical Garden in North York are about 18 km north-east of High Park. Evergreen Brick Works in the Don Valley is about 12 km east. The Toronto Islands are reached by ferry from the foot of Bay Street, about 9 km away. On the opposite side of the city, the Scarborough Bluffs offer cliffs and beaches about 28 km east. Pair two of them with lunch, and you have a four- to six-hour day without a single parking lot.
How do you book a car to High Park?
Open our reservation engine, enter your pickup (a hotel, a home or your flight number at Pearson) and choose High Park as the destination, giving the gate you prefer in the notes, or choose "hourly" for a longer day. Select the vehicle, and the fixed fare appears before you confirm. No app and no marketplace commission. Our how our fares work page explains what changes the fare: vehicle class, distance and time, waiting, extra stops and the date. Cancelling costs nothing more than 72 hours ahead; inside 72 hours the charge is 10 %, inside 48 hours 50 %, and inside 24 hours (or a no-show) 100 %, all measured from the scheduled pickup.
