For Yorkville restaurants, cars set down on the side streets rather than on Bloor Street: Cumberland Street, Yorkville Avenue, Hazelton Avenue, Scollard and Bellair, or Avenue Road for rooms on its edge. Agree one pickup corner before dinner, book the chauffeur by the hour so the car waits nearby, and allow extra time during TIFF in September and on Friday evenings.
Yorkville restaurants are some of the most booked tables in Toronto, packed into a few blocks north of Bloor Street between Yonge Street and Avenue Road. Getting there is easy; getting a car to stop at the right door, then finding it again at 11 pm, is where people lose 20 minutes. This guide is the street-level plan. For the wider area, hotels and airport runs, see our Yorkville and Midtown limo page. Distances are typical planning figures.
Yorkville restaurants: where exactly can a car drop you?
Not on Bloor Street West, in practice. Bloor between Yonge and Avenue Road carries heavy traffic and cycle lanes, and stopping there is slow and often not allowed. The useful streets are the ones running parallel and across:
- Cumberland Street, one block north of Bloor, beside the Village of Yorkville Park.
- Yorkville Avenue, the heart of the dining strip, one block further north.
- Hazelton Avenue and Scollard Street, quieter streets of Victorian houses and galleries.
- Bellair Street, a short connector that chauffeurs use for pickups.
- Avenue Road on the western edge, for rooms and hotels along it.
The chauffeur picks the stop closest to your door that is legal at that hour and tells you where it is.
How far is Yorkville from where you are?
| From | To central Yorkville | Typical drive time | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Union Station, Financial District | about 5 km | 10-20 min | Bay Street or University Avenue north |
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ) | about 25 km | 25-40 min | 401 and Avenue Road, or the Gardiner |
| Billy Bishop (YTZ), Eireann Quay | about 6 km | 15-25 min | Bathurst or Spadina north |
| North York Centre | about 12 km | 20-30 min | Yonge Street or the 401 and Avenue Road |
| Forest Hill and Rosedale | 2-4 km | 5-15 min | Short hops through Midtown |
| Etobicoke | about 18 km | 25-35 min | Gardiner, then north |
| Mississauga | about 30 km | 30-45 min | Gardiner or the 401 |
| Vaughan | about 35 km | 30-45 min | 400 and the 401 |
Which side street works for which dinner?
Think in three zones. For the Yorkville Avenue strip and the hotel restaurants along it, the drop is on Yorkville Avenue itself or around the corner on Bellair. For rooms near Cumberland and the park, the drop is on Cumberland. For rooms facing Avenue Road, the drop is on Avenue Road or the nearest cross street, depending on the lanes at that hour.
Put the restaurant's name and street number in the booking notes. The chauffeur checks the address against the block and sets you down within a short walk, usually under a minute.
What happens at the hotel restaurants?
Several of Yorkville's best dining rooms sit in hotels, such as The Hazelton Hotel on Yorkville Avenue, the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto close by, Park Hyatt Toronto at Bloor and Avenue Road and the Windsor Arms on St. Thomas Street. Hotel front drives are managed by the doormen, and the chauffeur follows their direction. That makes hotel restaurants the easiest pickups in Yorkville: the car can usually come into the drive or stop at the entrance for a moment. Our Hazelton Hotel transfers post covers that hotel in detail.
How should the pickup be arranged after dinner?
Agree one corner before you go in, for example Yorkville and Bellair, or the Cumberland side of the park. When the bill arrives, send the chauffeur a text. On an hourly booking the car is a few minutes away and arrives at the corner as you walk out.
Avoid two common traps: asking the car to come "to the restaurant" on a street where it cannot stop, and walking to Bloor because it seems more obvious. Both turn a two-minute pickup into fifteen.

Why does an hourly booking suit Yorkville better than one-way rides?
Because Yorkville evenings rarely end at the restaurant. Couples walk past the galleries on Hazelton, stop for a drink in a hotel lounge, or decide to drive along the lake. With an hourly chauffeur the car follows the evening. With one-way rides, every change means another wait on a busy sidewalk. Sedans and SUVs carry a 3-hour minimum, enough for most Yorkville dinners, and extra time comes in 30-minute blocks.
What does a typical Yorkville dinner timeline look like?
A Friday dinner for two from a Leaside home, with planning figures:
- 6:35 pm Pickup; about 6 km and 15 to 20 minutes on a Friday.
- 6:55 pm Set-down on Yorkville Avenue for a 7 pm table.
- 9:15 pm Text the chauffeur at dessert; meet at Yorkville and Bellair.
- 9:25 pm A short walk along Hazelton, or a nightcap at a hotel lounge.
- 10:15 pm Home by about 10:35.
That is four hours of car time with no waiting outside.
How does TIFF week change the plan?
During the Toronto International Film Festival, usually in September, Yorkville's hotels and restaurants fill with festival guests, and evening traffic on Yorkville Avenue and Avenue Road slows sharply. Some blocks see temporary restrictions around events. Book restaurants early, add 15 minutes to every drive and pick a pickup corner a block away from the busiest hotels. Our TIFF car service page explains how we plan festival nights.
What about summer patios and winter evenings?
In summer, patios on Yorkville Avenue and Cumberland narrow the sidewalk and draw crowds, and the Bloor-Yorkville area hosts outdoor events; check the neighbourhood's listings for your date. In winter, the opposite problem: snowbanks narrow the streets and nobody wants to walk two blocks in evening shoes. The chauffeur sets down as close to the door as the curb allows. Our cars run winter tires from November to April.
Can visitors staying downtown dine in Yorkville easily?
Yes. From a Financial District hotel it is about 5 km and 10 to 20 minutes, mostly up Bay Street or University Avenue. The TTC is a good alternative for a light-luggage couple: Bay, Bloor-Yonge and St. George stations are all within walking distance of the restaurants. A car makes more sense in bad weather, for a group, for anyone with mobility needs, or when the evening continues somewhere else.
Which Yorkville rooms are in the Michelin Guide?
Several acclaimed restaurants in and near Yorkville appear in the Michelin Guide's Toronto and Region selection, including Enigma Yorkville, which held a star in the 2025 selection. The guide is updated yearly, so check it before you book. Our Michelin-star restaurants dinner plan covers booking tasting menus and arriving on time.
Can we combine dinner with shopping or the ROM?
Easily. A late afternoon of shopping on Bloor Street and Yorkville Avenue, then dinner, is a classic four-to-five-hour booking: purchases go into the locked trunk, and the chauffeur moves the car between stops. The Royal Ontario Museum is a short walk west on Bloor at Queen's Park; check its calendar for evening openings. Our Yorkville shopping page maps the stores.
How should a client dinner in Yorkville be run?
Yorkville is a favourite for hosting out-of-town clients, because the hotels and the restaurants sit within a few hundred metres of each other. The simplest plan is one car per hotel: the chauffeur collects the guests at their front drive ten minutes before the table, drops them on the restaurant's street, waits through dinner and returns each guest to their hotel afterwards. If the host is coming from a Bay Street office, about 5 km away, a second car keeps the timing clean. Put the company name or a booking reference in the notes, and the trips can be billed on a corporate account.
What if someone in the party uses a wheelchair?
Tell us at booking. We have a wheelchair-accessible vehicle for passengers who need to stay in their chair; book it in advance and describe the wheelchair or scooter. For guests who can transfer to a seat, the chauffeur helps them in and folds and stows the chair or walker. Yorkville has many older buildings, so check the restaurant's entrance and washrooms too; some dining rooms are up or down a short flight of stairs, and the hotel restaurants are often the most accessible choice.
What are the most common Yorkville pickup mistakes?
- Asking the car to wait outside the restaurant on a street where standing is not allowed.
- Walking south to Bloor Street because it looks like the main road.
- Not telling the chauffeur the dinner has moved to a second venue two blocks away.
- Booking a one-way ride home and then queueing on Avenue Road at 11 pm.
- Forgetting that a Friday in September may be a TIFF night.
Each of these costs ten to twenty minutes on a night that should have none.
Which car fits Yorkville's narrow streets?
For two, the first-class sedan is ideal: discreet and easy to stop briefly on Cumberland or Bellair. For four to six, the premier luxury SUV. A stretch limousine from a partner operator is possible but needs more curb than Yorkville's side streets usually offer, so expect a longer walk to it. Alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles, so the nightcap happens at the bar.
Can the evening start or end at Pearson?
Yes. Pearson is about 25 km and 25 to 40 minutes from Yorkville. The chauffeur tracks the flight and meets you at the pre-arranged pickup area on the arrivals curb; meet and greet inside is an optional add-on. Bags stay in the trunk through dinner and go to the hotel afterwards. For flights or a hotel room, the travel desk can help.
What does the fare include, and how do we book?
The fixed, all-in fare covers the chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR tolls on the planned route and gratuity, with HST shown separately. Open the reservation engine, choose hourly, enter the pickup and put the restaurant name, street number and table time in the notes. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup.
