Car service to Toronto Boat Show days takes you to the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place, about 4 to 5 km and 10 to 20 minutes from Union Station and about 24 km and 25 to 40 minutes from Pearson. The 2027 show runs 16 to 24 January. Exhibitors usually book an hourly chauffeur; buyers and families book a return trip or a half day.
The boat show lands in the coldest weeks of the Toronto year, which shapes everything about getting there: dark mornings for exhibitors, snow on the Gardiner, and buyers who arrive from cottage country for a single day. This post covers the show from the transport side, for dealers, marine brands, buyers and visitors. Car service to Toronto Boat Show: when and where is it?
The show's official site lists the 2027 Toronto International Boat Show for 16 to 24 January 2027, and Exhibition Place lists it at the Enercare Centre, 100 Princes' Boulevard. That puts it on the lakeshore grounds west of downtown, between Lake Shore Boulevard and the Gardiner Expressway. Opening hours vary by day; check the official site before you book a pickup time, and remember that dealers arrive well before the doors open.
The 2026 show ran in January as well. The pattern is steady enough to plan a season around, but confirm the exact dates each year before booking flights and rooms.
How far is the Enercare Centre from where boat-show visitors start?

How should exhibitors plan move-in week?
Move-in is the longest, least predictable part of the show. A dealer team arrives early, waits for its booth location, checks boats delivered by the show's marine transport contractor, builds the stand, runs out for supplies and comes back. Nobody knows when the day ends.
That is the case for an hourly chauffeur in Toronto: one SUV or Sprinter held from a 3-hour minimum, with extra time in 30-minute blocks. The chauffeur waits on or near the grounds, takes the team to a hardware or marine supply store, and drives everyone to dinner when the stand is ready. Boats, engines and crates go through the show's contractors and loading areas, never in a passenger vehicle. Personal cases, laptops, brochures and banner stands are fine.
What does a typical exhibitor day look like?
A worked example for a team staying at a downtown hotel:
- 7:15 a.m. SUV in position at the hotel; four staff and two cases of brochures.
- 7:40 Set-down at the Enercare Centre entrance the show assigns to exhibitors.
- Day The chauffeur stays on call; one supply run at midday.
- 6:30 p.m. Two staff to a client dinner on King Street West.
- 8:30 The rest of the team collected from the hall after the close.
- 9:45 Dinner guests dropped at their hotel.
That is a full-day hourly booking. Many dealers keep the same car for the whole show so the chauffeur learns the call times by the second morning.
Which vehicle suits a dealer team?
Book by people and kit. Up to six people with cases fit an SUV such as a Yukon XL or Suburban. A larger team, or one carrying banner stands and display pieces, is better in a 12-seat Sprinter luxury van. A marine brand hosting buyers between the show and dinner may prefer the Executive Sprinter, whose lounge seating works as a meeting room on wheels.
In January, the larger classes also handle slush and snowbanks at hotel drives more comfortably. Our cars run winter tires from November to April.
How do buyers use a chauffeur at the boat show?
Buyers come with a list: compare three builders, sit on two boats, talk finance, talk delivery dates. That takes hours, and the decision often continues over lunch. A buyer couple from Oakville or Markham might book a half day; a family from Muskoka or Georgian Bay might book the whole day, or stay overnight downtown and book two shorter trips.
The advantage of the hourly booking is that brochures, coats and purchases from accessory vendors stay in the trunk. The chauffeur meets you at an agreed door when you text, not at the end of a long walk across a parking lot in January.
Is parking at Exhibition Place an option?
Yes. Exhibition Place lists about 5,400 parking spaces across the grounds, including 1,300 underground, with an 850-space garage at the Enercare Centre, according to its getting here page. Payment is through Green P mobile pay. On peak show weekends, though, the grounds may host more than one event and the lots fill, and leaving at the close means queuing at the exits with everyone else.
A chauffeured car avoids the parking hunt and the walk. Our sibling post on Enercare Centre drop-off and parking compares the two in more detail.

Can boat-show visitors use transit instead?
Many do. Exhibition GO station on the Lakeshore West line sits beside the grounds, and TTC streetcars and buses serve Exhibition Place. Check GO Transit for service on show days. For a solo visitor staying near a GO station, the train is sensible.
A car makes more sense for families with young children and strollers, older relatives, buyers arriving from outside the GTA, anyone carrying brochures and samples home, and visitors staying after dark in January, when the walk to the platform is cold and the trains are busy at the close.
How do out-of-town dealers and buyers fly in?
Most fly into Pearson; some short-haul travellers use Billy Bishop, about 3 km from Exhibition Place. Every airport pickup is flight-tracked, with waiting included from actual landing: 30 minutes on Canadian domestic and US flights and 60 minutes on other international arrivals. Curbside pickup at Pearson's pre-arranged area is included; a name-board meet inside arrivals is available at booking.
US dealers driving up for the show can book a cross-border car instead. Every passenger needs a valid passport or other accepted document; see the CBSA for re-entry rules, and ask for a NEXUS-holding chauffeur if your group uses NEXUS lanes.
What January weather problems should be planned for?
- Snow and freezing rain on the Gardiner and Lake Shore Boulevard; leave earlier on forecast days.
- Dark mornings and evenings; agree a lit, indoor meeting point for pickups.
- Slush at hotel drives; book a larger vehicle if you have cases to load.
- Cold-weather delays at Pearson; flight tracking keeps the chauffeur timed to the real landing.
- Highway 400 and lake-effect snow for buyers driving down from Barrie and cottage country.
Check Ontario 511 before long drives; dispatch does the same before every airport run.
What mistakes do boat-show visitors make with transport?
- Booking a pickup at the published closing time. Halls empty slowly; book the return 20 to 30 minutes after the close, or keep the car by the hour.
- Underestimating January. A 15-minute drive from a downtown hotel can take 35 minutes in a snow squall on Lake Shore Boulevard.
- Sending a sedan for a family of five. Five people in winter coats need an SUV, and child seats are available at booking.
- No meeting point agreed. Exhibition Place has several entrances; choose one inside, out of the cold, before you go in.
- Leaving brochures and accessories to carry on transit. On an hourly booking they stay in the trunk.
How do dealers host buyers in the evening?
Show evenings are when deals move forward. A dealer might take two buyer couples from the hall to a restaurant on King Street West, then on to their hotels in different parts of the city. The simplest plan is an Executive Sprinter or premier luxury SUV kept by the hour from the show close, with the drop-off order agreed before dinner. Alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles, which keeps the evening straightforward: drinks stay at the table, and nobody has to drive. Our post on client dinner car service in Toronto covers seating and timing for those nights.
Which hotels work best for boat-show exhibitors?
Hotel X is on the Exhibition Place grounds, and King West and Liberty Village are a few minutes away. Many exhibitors stay in the Financial District for restaurants and client dinners, about 4 to 5 km east. Our Entertainment District and King West hotels page covers the closest downtown front drives, and the travel desk can book flights and room blocks for a dealer team so arrivals and rooms are planned together.
How do cottage-country buyers make a day of it?
From Muskoka, about 215 km and 2.25 to 3 hours each way, the show is a long day. An hourly booking covering the full day keeps one car and one chauffeur with you from the driveway to the show and back, with the chauffeur's rest built into the waiting time. For a very long day, a second chauffeur can be arranged at booking. Many buyers prefer to stay one night downtown, see the show over two shorter visits and add a dinner. Our Toronto to Muskoka route page covers the drive.
What does the fare include?
The fixed fare shown before you confirm includes the chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, tolls on the planned route and gratuity, with HST shown separately. What changes it: the vehicle class, the distance and time, waiting, extra stops, the date and, for hourly bookings, the 3-hour minimum. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; 72 hours or less is 10 %, 48 hours or less is 50 %, and 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100 %.
How do I book car service to the Toronto International Boat Show?
Open the reservation engine on any page or go to /book/, enter the Enercare Centre and your pickup address, choose a one-way, return or hourly booking and a vehicle class, and the fixed fare appears before you confirm. Dealers running several vehicles across the show can ask a coordinator for a written plan. For the full winter show season, see our trade shows Toronto 2026 calendar.
