A Casa Loma wedding limo plan usually combines a car for the couple, an SUV for parents, a Sprinter for the wedding party and a shuttle for guests from the hotels. Casa Loma sits at 1 Austin Terrace, about 6 km and 15 to 25 minutes from downtown. Book hourly (3-hour minimum, 4 for stretch limousines) and let a coordinator price the day in writing.
Casa Loma is one of the most photographed wedding venues in Toronto, and our Casa Loma car service page explains how cars reach the castle. This post is about the wedding day itself: who rides in what, how the timeline fits together, where couples stop for photographs on the way, and how to get a hundred guests up a hill and home again without anyone driving after the toast.
What does a Casa Loma wedding limo plan include?
Most castle weddings need four transport pieces:
- The couple's car: a first-class sedan or a Rolls-Royce on request, from getting ready to the photo stops to the castle.
- Family cars: a premier luxury SUV for parents and grandparents.
- The wedding party: a Sprinter or a stretch limousine for the attendants.
- Guest shuttles: one or more Sprinters or a coach from the main hotels, up the hill and back at the end of the night.
Not every wedding needs all four, but planning each one separately avoids the classic mistake of one beautiful car and a hundred guests hunting for rides at midnight.
Who rides in which vehicle?
Match the vehicle to the people, not the photographs. The couple want quiet and space for the dress; a first-class sedan or an SUV gives both. Grandparents need easy steps and a short walk at the castle, so an SUV set down right at the entrance is better than a low stretch. Attendants want to arrive together and laugh on the way, which is what a Sprinter or a stretch limousine is for. Guests need reliable, repeated runs. Our own fleet covers sedans, SUVs and Sprinters; stretch limousines, party buses, coaches and Rolls-Royce cars come from vetted partner operators in the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network, which we say plainly when we plan the day.
What does a typical castle wedding timeline look like?
An example for a 4:00 p.m. ceremony, with getting ready at a downtown hotel about 6 km away:
- 12:30 Photographer arrives at the getting-ready suites.
- 13:30 Wedding party Sprinter collects the attendants.
- 14:00 Couple's car to the first photo stop.
- 14:00 to 15:15 Photographs at one or two locations across town.
- 15:15 Guest shuttle begins runs from the hotels to the castle.
- 15:30 Couple and wedding party arrive at Casa Loma.
- 16:00 Ceremony, then cocktails and photographs in the gardens.
- 23:00 onwards Guest shuttle runs back to the hotels.
Build 15 minutes of slack between every stop; traffic and veils both take longer than planned.

Which photo stops work on the way to Casa Loma?
Couples choose stops that are close to the route and look different from the castle. Popular choices include the cobbled lanes of the Distillery District, about 7 km from the castle; the Toronto Islands with the skyline behind you, which needs a ferry and time; Evergreen Brick Works in the Don Valley; and the St. Lawrence Market area for an old-Toronto look. The castle's own five-acre gardens, with their perennial borders and fountains, are often enough on their own. Some parks and private sites require a photography permit or booking for wedding shoots, so your photographer should check each one before the day; the chauffeur cannot fix that on the spot.
How many photo stops can you fit in?
Usually two, three at most. Each stop costs the drive, the walk from the car, the setup, the shoot and the walk back, and the clock runs whether you are posing or parked. A realistic pattern is one urban stop and one green stop, each 30 to 40 minutes including the drive, plus the gardens at the castle. On an hourly booking the couple's chauffeur waits at every stop with water, tissues and an umbrella, and moves the car to the next point while the photographer finishes. If a stop is more than 10 km from the castle, cut something else.
How do guest shuttles to Casa Loma work?
Guests usually stay at two or three hotels; we run Sprinters (up to 12 seated) or a partner coach (up to 55) in loops between them and the castle before the ceremony, then reverse the loops after the reception. For a downtown hotel about 6 km away, one loop takes about 40 to 60 minutes including loading. Put the shuttle times on the wedding website and in the hotel welcome bags, name one meeting point per hotel, and keep the last return run after the last song so nobody is left behind. Our wedding shuttle for guests post covers loops and timings in detail.
Why does the hill matter on a wedding day?
Casa Loma sits on the Davenport escarpment, and the walking routes up from Dupont Street and Davenport Road include long stairs. On a wedding day that matters more than usual: heels, long dresses, elderly relatives, and a reception that ends after dark. Driving every guest to the castle entrance removes the climb. It also removes the parking problem: the castle's on-site lot is paid and cashless, and it is shared with other visitors and events, so guests who drive themselves may not find it easy, especially on a busy Saturday.
Is a stretch limousine a good idea at the castle?
It can be, with planning. A stretch makes a great entrance and a fun ride for attendants, but it is long and low, which is awkward on narrow residential streets and for grandparents climbing out. Stretch limousines come from partner operators, seat 8, 10, 14 or 18, and have a four-hour minimum. Many couples split the roles: a stretch for the wedding party's photo tour, and SUVs for family. Talk to the coordinator about where the stretch can set down at the castle on your date before you fall in love with it.
How long should each vehicle be booked?
| Vehicle | Who rides | Typical booking | Minimum |
|---|---|---|---|
| First-class sedan or Rolls-Royce | The couple | 5 to 7 h, getting ready to send-off | 3 h (on request for Rolls-Royce) |
| Premier luxury SUV | Parents, grandparents | 3 to 5 h | 3 h |
| Executive Sprinter or Sprinter luxury van | Wedding party, 7 to 12 | 4 to 6 h | 3 h |
| Stretch limousine (partner) | Wedding party, 8 to 18 | 4 to 6 h | 4 h |
| Coach (partner) | Guests, up to 55 | Arrival loops plus return loops | Set by coordinator |
Hours run from scheduled pickup to final drop; extra time is sold in 30-minute blocks.
What should the couple's chauffeur carry?
On wedding days our chauffeurs prepare for small emergencies: water, tissues, an umbrella large enough for a dress, a phone charger, and a clear plan for every stop. Tell us in advance about anything else you want in the car, such as a garment bag for a change of outfit. One firm rule: alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles, so the toast happens at the castle, not in the car. The chauffeur also keeps the timeline: if the photographer runs long at a stop, the chauffeur warns the couple when they need to leave to reach the castle on time, which takes that worry off everyone else.
What if it rains on the wedding day?
Plan a wet-weather version of the timeline from the start. Swap an outdoor photo stop for a covered one, or for the castle's interior rooms, and allow longer for every set-down, because getting a dress and a bouquet in and out of a car in the rain takes time. Ask the guest shuttle to load at covered hotel entrances, and keep golf umbrellas in every vehicle. Winter weddings add an icy hill and early darkness; our cars run winter tires from November to April, and the castle's lights make dramatic evening photographs.
How is a castle wedding priced and confirmed?
Single cars can be booked straight through the reservation engine, which shows a fixed fare before you confirm. Multi-vehicle weddings, party buses and coaches are priced in writing by a coordinator, who confirms every vehicle, every pickup and every loop on one document. We do not print figures here; the fare depends on the vehicles, the hours and the date, and Saturdays from May to October book first. See how much a wedding limo is in Toronto for what changes the fare.
What about the marriage licence and the legal bits?
Transport is only one list. Ontario has its own rules for marriage licences and officiants; the province explains them on its getting married page. Casa Loma has its own requirements for vendors, timings and event spaces, which your planner or the castle's events team will set out. Share the castle's vendor timings with us so the cars are not idling outside before they are allowed in.
Which mistakes do couples make with castle transport?
- Booking a beautiful car for the couple and nothing for guests.
- Planning three photo stops across the city in 75 minutes.
- Forgetting the last shuttle run, or timing it before the final dance.
- Not telling guests where the shuttle leaves from at each hotel.
- Putting grandparents in a low stretch limousine.
- Booking the morning of a Rogers Centre or Scotiabank Arena event without checking the traffic.
Where should out-of-town guests stay?
Midtown and downtown hotels are both close: Yorkville about 3 km from the castle, the Financial District about 6 km. Our luxury hotels in Toronto page and the travel desk help with room blocks and flights for guests flying in, and the car can collect them at Pearson, about 26 km away.
How do you book wedding transport for Casa Loma?
Start early: popular castle Saturdays book far ahead, and wedding cars go with them. Destination Toronto lists city events that may share your date, and toronto.ca posts road closures for parades and races. Read our wedding limo service page and the how to book a wedding limo guide, then open the reservation engine for a single car or ask for a coordinator for a multi-vehicle plan. Cancellation follows the sitewide policy: free more than 72 hours before pickup, then 10 %, 50 % and 100 % at 72, 48 and 24 hours.
