TorontoBlackLimousine.com provides University of Toronto car service and rides to TMU, York University and Toronto's hospital campuses. The St. George campus and Hospital Row on University Avenue are 2–3 km from Union Station (about 10–15 minutes) and about 27 km from Pearson (25–45 minutes). Book point-to-point or keep an hourly chauffeur, and see the fixed fare when you book your campus car.
University of Toronto car service: who books it and why
Campus trips are some of the most varied bookings on our board. A visiting professor lands at Pearson for a lecture at the St. George campus; a conference brings 40 researchers to a downtown hotel and a campus hall; a family flies in for convocation and needs a car big enough for grandparents; a donor visits a faculty for a dinner; a patient's relatives travel to Toronto for surgery at a downtown hospital and need someone reliable to drive them each day. None of these riders want to learn the TTC or circle for parking around Queen's Park. TorontoBlackLimousine.com runs its own chauffeurs and dispatch, so the car arrives at the right building and waits where it is allowed to.
Which university campuses do we serve?
We drive to every campus in the Greater Toronto Area. The ones we reach most often are:
- University of Toronto, St. George campus, the downtown campus around Queen's Park and King's College Circle (U of T).
- University of Toronto Scarborough in the east end (UTSC) and University of Toronto Mississauga near Mississauga Road (UTM).
- Toronto Metropolitan University near Yonge and Dundas in the downtown core (TMU).
- York University's Keele campus in north Toronto (York University) and its Markham Campus, which welcomed its first full cohort in September 2024.
For colleges and other institutions, enter the address in the reservation engine. We have no affiliation with any university; these are simply places we drive to.
Which hospital campuses do we drive to?
Downtown Toronto's teaching hospitals are concentrated on and around University Avenue, often called Hospital Row. Riders most often ask us for the sites of University Health Network, including Toronto General, Toronto Western and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre; SickKids; Mount Sinai Hospital of Sinai Health; and St. Michael's Hospital of Unity Health Toronto. Women's College Hospital is a short drive away on Grenville Street, and Sunnybrook is in north Toronto. North of the city we drive to Mackenzie Health sites in Vaughan and Richmond Hill and to Oak Valley Health in Markham. Always confirm the exact building and entrance on your appointment letter, because large hospitals have several.
How far are the campuses from downtown Toronto and Pearson?
Dispatcher planning figures on a weekday outside the rush. The reservation engine prices your exact addresses, date and time.
| Campus or hospital | From Union Station area | From Toronto Pearson (YYZ) |
|---|---|---|
| U of T St. George campus | about 3 km, 10–15 min | about 27 km, 25–45 min |
| Hospital Row (University Ave) | about 2 km, 8–15 min | about 27 km, 25–45 min |
| Toronto Metropolitan University | about 2 km, 8–15 min | about 28 km, 30–45 min |
| Sunnybrook (north Toronto) | about 13 km, 20–35 min | about 25 km, 25–40 min |
| York University, Keele campus | about 25 km, 30–45 min | about 18 km, 20–30 min |
| York University, Markham Campus | about 35 km, 30–45 min | about 40 km, 30–50 min |
| U of T Scarborough | about 35 km, 35–50 min | about 45 km, 35–55 min |
| U of T Mississauga | about 33 km, 30–45 min | about 20 km, 20–30 min |
Note that York's Keele campus and UTM are closer to Pearson than to downtown, which helps when scheduling visiting speakers who fly in and out the same day.
Visiting faculty, speakers and examiners
Universities host a steady stream of visitors: guest lecturers, external examiners, conference keynotes and job candidates. Departments often want the visitor met at Pearson, taken to a hotel near the campus, driven to the lecture and returned to the airport, with an invoice the faculty can process. We do exactly that. Add the flight number and we track it; the included waiting starts from actual landing, 30 minutes for Canadian and US flights and 60 minutes for other international arrivals. The standard pickup is at Pearson's pre-arranged pickup area, and a name board meet and greet inside arrivals is an add-on available at booking. For an academic visitor with several appointments, an hourly chauffeur keeps the day on schedule.
Academic conferences and campus events
Large academic meetings, alumni events and donor dinners bring groups to campus halls and nearby hotels. We move speakers individually and delegates in groups: Sprinter vans between a hotel and a campus venue, a sedan for the keynote, and an hourly car for the organizers who must be everywhere at once. If the conference uses a convention centre for its plenary and a campus for its sessions, we coordinate both; our Metro Toronto Convention Centre page covers the downtown convention side, and our conventions and trade shows page explains how we plan multi-venue weeks. Campus streets around Queen's Park are busy with buses and cyclists, so we agree a drop-off point with the organizers in advance.
Convocation days
Convocation is a family occasion, and it is also one of the busiest days around any campus. Parking fills early, ceremonies run in sessions, and families want photographs before and a dinner after. A chauffeured SUV or Sprinter solves all three: drop-off near the ceremony hall, a chauffeur waiting nearby during the ceremony, then a ride to lunch or dinner and back to the hotel. Ceremony seasons are usually in late spring and again in the autumn; check each university's own calendar for dates. For relatives flying in, we pair the Pearson arrival with the ceremony day. Our graduation and convocation page has more ideas for planning the day.
Hospital visits: handled with care
Rides to hospital are different from every other booking we take, and our chauffeurs treat them that way. Passengers may be anxious, in pain, recovering from a procedure, or visiting a seriously ill relative. The chauffeur drives smoothly, helps with bags and coats, does not ask why you are going, and never repeats who he drove or where. We are not an ambulance or a medical transport service, and our chauffeurs do not provide medical care; for emergencies, call 911. What we offer is a calm, reliable car to and from appointments, treatments and visits. Our medical appointments and hospital visits page explains how families book recurring rides, including waiting time during appointments.
Driving patients' families from Pearson and out of town
Many patients at Toronto's specialist hospitals come from elsewhere in Ontario, the rest of Canada or abroad, and their families arrive at Pearson with luggage and very little time. We meet them, drive them to a hotel near the hospital or straight to the hospital, and keep their schedule for return trips. For families staying several days or weeks, a standing daily booking between the hotel and the hospital means they do not have to arrange a ride each morning. Our travel desk can book flights and hotel rooms close to the hospitals, and the Downtown Yonge and Eaton Centre hotels page lists properties within a few minutes of Hospital Row.
Where does the car drop off at a hospital or campus?
Hospitals and campuses have their own drop-off lanes, main entrances and rules, and they change with construction. We do not print door numbers or lane details unless we have verified them on the institution's own site. The chauffeur drops at the main entrance or the entrance shown on your appointment letter, and for campus events at the main door of the named building. On pickup, the chauffeur waits at the agreed point or nearby in a legal spot and comes when called. Text the chauffeur when the appointment ends, and the car is at the door within a few minutes. If you need help to the door, tell us when booking.
Accessibility and mobility needs
Many hospital riders and some convocation guests have limited mobility. Our cars are standard sedans, SUVs and vans, chosen for comfort and easy entry. For passengers who can transfer to a seat, the chauffeur folds and stows wheelchairs and walkers in the trunk and offers an arm to the door. We have a wheelchair-accessible vehicle for anyone who must stay seated in a wheelchair or scooter, available when booked in advance. A higher SUV seat suits some riders, while others prefer a lower sedan; tell us what works and we send that class.
Why an hourly chauffeur suits campus and hospital days
Appointments and academic days rarely run to the minute. A clinic visit can mean a scan, a wait and a second consultation; a convocation ceremony can overrun; a visiting lecturer may have a lunch, two meetings and a dinner. An hourly chauffeur keeps one car and one chauffeur for the whole sequence, with a three-hour minimum and extra time in 30-minute blocks. For a full day across campuses or hospitals, the private chauffeur as directed option works the same way. Point-to-point is better for a single trip with no waiting, such as Pearson to a hotel.
Which vehicle should I choose?
- One or two passengers: a business sedan or the electric Tesla Model Y; a first-class sedan for senior visitors and donors.
- Families with luggage or a folded wheelchair: an SUV seating six with four bags.
- Convocation groups or faculty teams: an Executive Sprinter for up to seven or a Sprinter luxury van for up to twelve.
- Large conference groups: a coach from a vetted partner operator, priced in writing.
Child seats in infant, convertible and booster sizes are available at booking.
Traffic around Queen's Park, Hospital Row and the campuses
Downtown campus and hospital streets carry heavy bus, bike and pedestrian traffic, and University Avenue lanes close for parades, demonstrations and events at Queen's Park. College Street and Dundas Street have streetcars that slow cars down. The north campuses depend on Highway 401 and the 400, which are slow from 7 to 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Our dispatcher checks Ontario 511 and City of Toronto closures before early appointments and adjusts pickup times. For an 8 a.m. hospital check-in downtown from Mississauga or Vaughan, we usually suggest leaving before 6:45 a.m.
Hotels near the campuses and hospitals
Visitors to the St. George campus and Hospital Row usually stay in the downtown core or around Yorkville. Our Yorkville hotels page covers properties near the north edge of the U of T campus, and our Midtown and Yonge-Eglinton hotels page is useful for Sunnybrook visitors. For York University's Keele campus, the North York and Vaughan hotels page lists closer options. Each page gives distances to Pearson, so families and visiting faculty can plan arrivals.
What does the fare include?
We do not publish prices. The reservation engine shows the fixed, all-in fare for your trip before you confirm: chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR tolls if used, airport fees and gratuity, with HST shown separately. The fare depends on the vehicle class, the distance and time, waiting beyond the included allowance (15 minutes at a campus or hospital pickup, then 15-minute blocks), extra stops, the date and season, and the hours on an hourly booking. Departments and foundations can open a corporate account for consolidated invoices.
Booking direct and cancellation
Book on TorontoBlackLimousine.com through our reservation engine, the floating "Book now" button or the booking page. There is no app and no aggregator. Cancellations are free more than 72 hours before pickup, with a sliding charge inside that window that reaches the full fare at 24 hours or less. Medical appointments change at short notice, so tell our dispatch as soon as a time moves, and we will try to rebook the ride.
