TorontoBlackLimousine.com meets private and charter flights at Lake Simcoe Regional Airport (ICAO CYLS) in Oro-Medonte, between Barrie and Orillia. Downtown Toronto is about 110 km and 75–100 minutes south; Pearson about 105 km. The chauffeur is timed to your block-in, waits at the FBO's landside door, meets the aircraft where the FBO permits, and the fixed fare shows before you book.
Lake Simcoe Regional Airport: the private jet door to cottage country
Lake Simcoe Regional Airport is owned by the County of Simcoe and sits beside Highway 11, north of Barrie. The airport's own site describes a 6,001-foot runway that can take large corporate jets, turboprops and narrow-body airliners, with full-service FBOs, a restaurant and international port-of-entry status, about an hour north of Toronto. For private flyers it solves a particular problem: getting to Muskoka, Georgian Bay or a lakeside home on Lake Simcoe without two or three hours on the 400 from Pearson. For business travellers, Barrie and Orillia are minutes away. What the field does not supply is a waiting black car for the drive onward. That is where we come in, with a chauffeur timed to your aircraft and the option of keeping the same car as an hourly chauffeur for the day.
The FBOs at Lake Simcoe Regional Airport
The airport's FBO and pilot information page, checked on 30 September 2026, lists two FBOs. Chartright FBO describes a hangar able to take aircraft up to a Global 7500, separate passenger and crew lounges, a boardroom, de-icing, hotel and car coordination, and customs and CANPASS service with advance notice. AVFuel FBO operates from the main passenger terminal, providing Avgas and a large apron for charter and airline flights. The same page gives the identifiers: ICAO CYLS, with the IATA code listed as YLK. Operators and services change, so crews confirm them before the flight. We are not affiliated with the airport or either FBO; tell us which one your aircraft is using, and the chauffeur will wait at that door.

What the fixed fare covers
Every booking through our reservation engine shows a fixed, all-in fare before you confirm: chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR tolls if we use the 407, airport fees and gratuity, with HST shown separately. There is no meter on a slow 400 on a long weekend. The fare depends on the vehicle class, the distance and time, extra stops, waiting beyond the included window and whether you keep the car by the hour. Child seats and name-board greeting are available at booking. Read how our fares work for the detail, or open the engine for the exact figure.
Meeting the aircraft at CYLS
Our rule does not change at a quieter field: the chauffeur meets you at the aircraft only where the FBO permits it, following the FBO's escort and conditions. Otherwise the chauffeur waits at the FBO's landside entrance or in the terminal, with a name board if you asked for one, and the FBO's staff bring the bags to the car. Cottage-bound flights often carry more than people expect: coolers, fishing gear, golf bags and a pet in a crate (pets need our prior approval). Tell us in the booking notes so the right vehicle is sent and the FBO knows the car is coming.

Tracking and included waiting
With the tail number and estimated departure time, dispatch follows the flight from wheels-up and re-times the car if it leaves late, at no charge. Included waiting starts at actual arrival: 30 minutes for flights from within Canada or the United States and 60 minutes for flights from anywhere else, to allow for customs. After that, waiting is billed in 15-minute blocks. On summer weekends, when several aircraft arrive within an hour, the FBO's ramp can be busy; our chauffeur waits patiently and does not rush the handling.
Customs at Lake Simcoe Regional Airport
The CBSA's Directory of Offices and Services lists Lake Simcoe Regional Airport as an airport of entry. Private flights from abroad follow the CBSA's general aviation telephone reporting rules: the pilot calls the Telephone Reporting Centre at least two hours and no more than 48 hours before arrival, lands at an approved airport of entry during CBSA business hours unless other arrangements are made, and calls again on landing, with passengers staying aboard until authorised. CANPASS private and corporate aircraft members follow that program. The airport and its FBO publish their own customs notes on their sites; clearance itself is between the crew and CBSA.
Lake Simcoe airport to Toronto: which road
The drive south to Toronto is Highway 11 to Highway 400, then the 400 to the city. For downtown, chauffeurs typically continue to the 401 and the Don Valley Parkway or take the 400 extension toward Black Creek, depending on traffic. For Pearson, the 400 to the 407 ETR or the 401 and then the 427 is usually quickest, with the 407 toll included in the fare when we take it. Summer Fridays load the 400 northbound and Sundays load it southbound; winter brings lake-effect snow squalls off Georgian Bay between Barrie and Toronto. Dispatchers check the Ontario 511 map before every departure. Our Toronto to Muskoka route page covers the corridor in detail.
Muskoka, Georgian Bay and the lake: the cottage run
Most private arrivals at CYLS continue north or around the lake. Gravenhurst is about 40 to 50 minutes away, Bracebridge an hour, and many cottages on Lake Muskoka and Lake Rosseau another half-hour beyond. For waterfront properties reached by boat, the chauffeur drops at the marina or dock you name and helps with the bags. For the resorts, our Muskoka resorts page and the Muskoka, Bracebridge and Gravenhurst page cover pickup points and times. If your aircraft is going to Muskoka Airport instead, see Muskoka Airport private aviation.
The hourly chauffeur for a lake-country day
Plenty of private trips to Simcoe County are a single day: a board meeting in Barrie, lunch in Orillia, a property viewing on the lake and a flight home at dusk. An hourly private chauffeur covers the whole thing with one car and one chauffeur for a three-hour minimum or the full day, waiting at each stop with the bags secure, and back to the FBO in time for departure. Extra time is billed in 30-minute blocks. It is also the relaxed way to do a golf day in Horseshoe Valley or an evening at Casino Rama, where guests must be 19 or over; Casino Rama car service covers that trip as transport only.
Choosing a vehicle for the cottage run
- Premier luxury SUV for up to six with luggage: the default choice for cottage trips and winter roads.
- First-class sedan for one or two executives travelling light.
- Executive Sprinter for up to seven with plenty of bags, ideal for a family with gear.
- Sprinter luxury van for up to twelve, such as a wedding party flying in for a lakeside ceremony.
Our fleet page lists capacities. For very heavy loads, a second vehicle can carry the luggage.
Winter at Lake Simcoe
Simcoe County sits in the snowbelt, and winter conditions can change quickly between Barrie and Orillia. Chartright's listing of round-the-clock de-icing is a reminder that the aircraft side plans for it; so do we. Our cars run winter tires from November to April, dispatchers read the Environment Canada forecast before setting times, and on bad days we add buffer rather than hurry. Ski trips to Horseshoe Valley and Blue Mountain are common winter bookings; see Collingwood and Blue Mountain for that area.

Departures from Lake Simcoe Regional Airport
Tell us the planned wheels-up time and the FBO. From downtown Toronto on a summer Friday, we plan to collect you up to two hours before the crew wants passengers at the aircraft; on a weekday morning outside rush hour, about 90 minutes is usually enough. From a Muskoka cottage, allow for the dock-to-car time as well as the drive. The chauffeur's details arrive the evening before, and changes are one message to dispatch.
Crew cars and overnight stays
Crews overnighting near the airport usually stay in Barrie or Orillia. We book the crew on the same file with their own pickup times, including an early run back to the FBO. Our Barrie page and Orillia page cover the districts and drive times. When an aircraft repositions, we can connect crews to Oshawa Executive Airport or to Waterloo (YKF) private aviation.
Privacy, children and accessibility
Our cars are unbranded, and our chauffeurs do not photograph, name or discuss passengers, which matters to many cottage owners. An alias on the name board or a car that waits out of sight is easy to arrange. Infant, convertible and booster seats are available at booking. We have a wheelchair-accessible vehicle for anyone who must stay seated in a wheelchair or scooter, available when booked in advance: passengers who can transfer to a seat travel with the wheelchair or walker folded and stowed. Pets in carriers or crates need prior approval, confirmed in writing before travel.
Onward travel and the travel desk
The same chauffeur can drive on to Algonquin Park, back to Toronto or across the border. Through the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network, chauffeured cars in more than 70 countries and 500 cities are bookable on the same Toronto account, and our travel desk can add flights, resorts and hotels around the trip.
Cancellations
More than 72 hours before pickup, cancellation costs nothing. At 72 hours or less it is 10 %, at 48 hours or less 50 %, and at 24 hours or less, or a no-show, 100 %, measured from the scheduled pickup. A delayed flight is not a cancellation; tracking moves the car.
