A Pickering Casino Resort car service from downtown Toronto covers about 42 km, typically 35 to 50 minutes via the Don Valley Parkway and Highway 401. From Leslieville or the Beaches it is about 33 to 37 km, and from Scarborough Town Centre about 15 km. Most guests book an hourly chauffeur (3-hour minimum) so the car waits through dinner and a show at The Arena. Guests must be 19+.
How does a Pickering Casino Resort car service work from Toronto's east end?
You book one car and one chauffeur for the evening. The chauffeur collects you at home, a condo lobby or a hotel, drives east to the resort at 888 Durham Live Avenue beside Highway 401, and waits nearby while you have dinner, see a show or spend time inside. When you text, the car is back at the entrance, and everyone goes home together. Our Pickering Casino Resort limo page covers the resort, the Pearson route and the shuttle in detail. This post is for people starting in the east half of the city, downtown, the Danforth, Leslieville, the Beaches and Scarborough, where the routes, the timing and even the best vehicle differ from a downtown-west or airport trip.
How far is the resort from each east-end neighbourhood?
These are planning figures from the centre of each area. The reservation engine quotes the exact fixed fare for your address, date and vehicle.
| Starting area | Distance to the resort | Typical drive | Usual route |
|---|---|---|---|
| Union Station / Financial District | about 42 km | 35 to 50 min | DVP and 401 |
| Yorkville and Midtown | about 40 km | 35 to 50 min | DVP and 401 |
| Riverdale and the Danforth | about 35 km | 30 to 45 min | DVP and 401 |
| Leslieville | about 37 km | 30 to 45 min | DVP and 401, or Kingston Road |
| The Beaches | about 33 km | 30 to 40 min | Kingston Road and 401 |
| Scarborough Town Centre | about 15 km | 15 to 25 min | 401 |
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ) | about 55 km | 40 to 55 min | 401 or 407 ETR |
From the Beaches and Leslieville, the chauffeur often avoids the DVP entirely, taking Kingston Road north-east to the 401. On a Friday at 5 pm, that choice alone can save 15 minutes.
Which route is fastest at different times of day?
The DVP and the 401 eastbound are the default from downtown and midtown. The DVP is slow on weekday afternoons from about 3:30 to 6:30 pm, and it closes for maintenance on some summer weekends. The 401 eastbound through Scarborough backs up at the same hours. Late in the evening both are fast, so the drive home is usually the quickest part of the night. The chauffeur checks live traffic and Ontario 511 before leaving and can switch to Lake Shore and Kingston Road, or to the 407 ETR across the top of the city from midtown and North York. Tolls on the planned route are included in the fixed fare, so the chauffeur picks the faster road without an extra charge appearing at the end.
What does a typical show night look like from the Beaches?
A plan for four friends going to a concert at The Arena:
- 5:30 pm Pickup on Queen Street East in a six-seat SUV.
- 6:10 pm Drop at the resort's main entrance, about 33 km via Kingston Road and the 401.
- 6:20 pm Dinner at one of the resort's restaurants.
- 8:00 pm Show at The Arena; the chauffeur waits nearby.
- 10:30 pm Show ends. Wait 10 minutes inside while the crowd clears, then text.
- 11:15 pm Everyone dropped home along Queen East and the Danforth.
That is a 6-hour booking. From Scarborough, the same night fits in four to five hours because the drive is so short.

Should you take GO Transit or the casino shuttle instead?
Be honest about the options. GO Transit's Lakeshore East line runs from Union Station to Pickering GO station, a few kilometres from the resort, and from there you need a short local ride; check GO Transit for late-evening schedules before relying on it for the trip home. Great Canadian also runs a reservable casino shuttle from fixed stops in Scarborough and Markham, 19+ only, to a set timetable. Both suit a solo visitor on a budget with a flexible evening. A private car suits couples and groups, show nights with late finishes, winter evenings, anyone with mobility needs and anyone whose home is not near a GO station or shuttle stop.
Why does an hourly booking suit a Pickering evening?
Because the finish time is uncertain and the resort is far enough out that finding a ride home at 11 pm can take a while. With an hourly chauffeur, the car stays with you from the 3-hour minimum, with extra time in 30-minute blocks. From Scarborough, three hours covers dinner and a few hours inside. From downtown, five to six hours is typical for a show night. A one-way ride makes sense if you are staying at the resort's hotel; then a second one-way ride brings you home the next morning. Our hourly versus point-to-point guide explains the trade-off in more detail.
Which vehicle should an east-end group book?
For a couple, a business sedan or a first-class sedan for an anniversary. For three to six, an SUV or the premier luxury SUV. Seven to twelve travel together in the executive Sprinter or the Sprinter luxury van, which suits a birthday group collected from two or three addresses along the Danforth. Stretch limousines and party buses come from vetted partner operators in the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network. Whatever the vehicle, alcohol is not allowed on board; enjoy your drinks at the resort. Our Sprinter group transportation page covers seating and multiple pickups.
Can the car collect friends from several east-end addresses?
Yes, and it is one of the main reasons groups book a Sprinter. List every pickup address in order in the booking notes, for example a condo near Broadview, a house in Leslieville and a stop in the Beaches. The chauffeur plans the route so the last pickup is closest to the highway. Allow about 5 to 10 minutes per extra stop in the east end, more on Queen Street East where streetcars slow things down. On the way home, the chauffeur drops everyone in reverse order. On an hourly booking the extra stops simply use part of the booked time.
What are the ID and age rules?
Ontario's minimum age for casino gaming is 19, and the resort asks guests for a valid original government-issued photo ID, plus a secondary photo ID, at the entrance, according to its official site. Photocopies and phone pictures are not accepted. Several restaurants are also 19+. Guests under 19 can ride in our vehicles but cannot join the group on the gaming floor. Gaming in Ontario is regulated by the AGCO. Our chauffeurs provide transport only, with no gaming advice or promotions. If gambling stops being fun for anyone, PlaySmart offers free support.
How does winter change the drive east?
The 401 east of Toronto is well maintained, but lake-effect snow off Lake Ontario can arrive quickly and turn a 35-minute drive into an hour. Freezing rain on Kingston Road and in the Rouge valley slows traffic too. Our cars run winter tires from November to April, and the chauffeur checks conditions before the first pickup of the evening. On a stormy night the chauffeur may suggest leaving 20 to 30 minutes earlier so dinner is not cut short. The return late at night is usually quiet, even in winter, but the chauffeur will never rush a slippery highway to make up time.
Can you combine the resort with other Durham Region plans?
Yes. Pickering sits at the western edge of Durham Region, and an hourly booking can include more than one stop. Some groups have dinner in Whitby or Ajax before a show; others visit Casino Ajax, about 10 km east, on the same night. A summer afternoon at the waterfront in Pickering or a visit to the Rouge National Urban Park on the way out also works. Durham Tourism lists the region's events and attractions. Our Pickering and Ajax page covers local pickups and airport runs, and the Durham Region hotels page lists places to stay.

Is a Pickering night good for a staff party or a corporate group?
It suits east-end and Durham-based teams well, since the resort is close and has restaurants, a live-entertainment venue and event space. The transport plan matters more than the venue: everyone needs to get home safely, and nobody should drive after a holiday party. One or two Sprinters leaving the office at a fixed time, with a named host who can approve extra time, keeps it simple. Larger groups use partner coaches arranged by a coordinator and priced in writing. Our corporate events and galas page covers multi-vehicle staging, and the corporate car service gives one invoice.
Can a guest with limited mobility come along?
Yes. The car sets everyone down at the resort's main entrance rather than in a parking garage, which shortens the walk considerably. For a guest who can transfer to a seat, the chauffeur folds and stows a wheelchair or walker. For a guest who needs to stay in the wheelchair, we have a wheelchair-accessible vehicle that must be booked in advance; mention the wheelchair or scooter at booking so we can confirm it. On a show night, ask the resort about accessible seating at The Arena when you buy tickets, and let the chauffeur know if you need a pickup point with no kerb or steps.
What mistakes do people make on a Pickering casino night?
- Leaving downtown at 5 pm on a Friday via the DVP. Leave at 4 pm, or after 6:30 pm, or use Kingston Road from the east end.
- Relying on the last train home. Check the GO schedule before planning a late finish around it.
- Forgetting the second ID. The resort asks for two pieces of photo ID.
- Waiting at the exit with the whole crowd. Stay inside ten minutes after a show, then text.
- Not listing every pickup address. The chauffeur needs them in order to plan the route.
What does the fare include, and how do you book direct?
The reservation engine shows the fixed, all-in fare before you confirm: chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR tolls on the planned route, airport fees where relevant and gratuity, with HST shown separately. No meter and no surge. What changes it is the vehicle class, the hours booked, the number of pickups and the date. To book, open our reservation engine, choose hourly, add the pickup addresses in order, the resort and your show time. Visitors flying in can arrange flights and a room through our travel desk. Cancellation: free more than 72 hours ahead, 10 % within 72 hours, 50 % within 48 hours and 100 % within 24 hours or for a no-show.
