A car service to the Prince of Wales Hotel at 6 Picton Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake, covers about 125 km from downtown Toronto, typically 85–105 minutes via the QEW, and about 120 km from Pearson (80–100 minutes). TorontoBlackLimousine.com drives to the hotel entrance, carries the bags in and can stay by the hour for wineries. See the fixed fare at /book/.
The Prince of Wales Hotel is one of the best-known addresses in Niagara-on-the-Lake, part of the Vintage Hotels group, and many guests arrive for a reason: an anniversary, a proposal, a family celebration or a theatre weekend. Our Niagara-on-the-Lake hotels car service page covers the town's inns as a group. This post is narrower. It follows arrivals at this one hotel and the decisions that make them go smoothly, whether you are coming from a Toronto condo, a Bay Street office or the arrivals curb at Pearson.
Where exactly is the Prince of Wales Hotel?
The hotel lists its address as 6 Picton Street on its own website, in the heart of the Old Town, a short walk from the shops and restaurants of Queen Street and from the theatres of the Shaw Festival. That location shapes the transport plan: once you are there, you rarely need a car to get around town. What you do need is a reliable way to arrive and leave, and possibly a car for a day among the vineyards outside town. Put the hotel's name and street address in the reservation engine so the chauffeur goes to the main entrance.
How long is the drive from Toronto and Pearson?
Planning figures for a weekday outside the rush; the reservation engine quotes your exact pickup.

Which occasions bring people to this hotel?
Anniversaries come first. A couple who married decades ago returns, or adult children send their parents for a weekend. Proposals and honeymoons follow, then family milestones: a significant birthday, a reunion of siblings flying in from three countries. There are also theatre lovers who book the same hotel every season for the Shaw Festival, and small corporate gatherings. Each of these is a trip where the arrival sets the tone. A quiet first-class sedan at the door at the planned minute matters more than speed, and the chauffeur handles the luggage while you go straight to reception.
What does a calm anniversary arrival look like?
- Booking: add the occasion to the notes; the chauffeur greets the couple without fuss.
- 11:30 a.m. pickup at home in Toronto, ahead of the Friday traffic.
- A stop on the way, if you like: lunch at a winery on the Niagara Parkway, about 15 minutes before town.
- 3 p.m. arrival at the hotel entrance, close to standard check-in times.
- Bags carried in while you check in; the chauffeur leaves once you are settled.
If the anniversary dinner is outside town, keep the same chauffeur by the hour for the evening instead of booking a taxi back. Our anniversary limo page has more ideas for the day.

Is afternoon tea worth a day trip from Toronto?
Many guests come for an afternoon rather than a stay: tea at a grand hotel, a walk along Queen Street, a winery on the way home. The hotel's own site lists its dining and tea service; check it for times and reservations before planning. As a day trip, this is an hourly booking: our hourly chauffeur service has a 3-hour minimum, extra time in 30-minute blocks, and a Toronto round trip with tea and a stroll usually runs six to seven hours. The chauffeur waits nearby while you are inside, so there is no hurrying to meet a pickup time.
Can the chauffeur stay for a winery afternoon?
Yes, and it is the most common add-on to a Prince of Wales stay. The Old Town is walkable, but the wineries are not: they spread along the Niagara Parkway, Niagara Stone Road and the bench toward St. Davids. A three-hour block covers two or three tastings and a light lunch, with the chauffeur loading purchases into the trunk. Our sibling post on the Niagara-on-the-Lake wineries route suggests an order, and our Niagara wine country page covers the region. Nobody in your party has to choose between tasting and driving, and the tasting stays at the winery: alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles.
How do weddings at the hotel work for transport?
Wedding parties at an Old Town hotel have a few transport needs: guests from Toronto and Pearson on the Friday, the couple's car on the day, perhaps a photo session at a winery or by the lake, and late returns for guests staying elsewhere in Niagara. A Sprinter luxury van carries up to 12 guests in one run from Toronto. A stretch limousine for the couple comes from a vetted partner operator in the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network, and a Rolls-Royce is available on request; see our Rolls-Royce chauffeur page. Multi-vehicle weddings are priced and confirmed in writing by a coordinator, and our wedding limo service page explains the timing. One plain rule for wedding days: alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles, including partner limousines and coaches.
What changes when guests fly in to Pearson?
Overseas relatives often land the morning of a celebration weekend. The chauffeur tracks the flight and meets them at the pre-arranged pickup area on the arrivals curb; meet and greet inside arrivals with a name board is an optional add-on and is worth it for older relatives. Waiting from actual landing is included: 30 minutes on Canadian domestic and US flights and 60 minutes on other international arrivals. If they land early in the morning, the hotel may not have rooms ready; a slow drive with breakfast on the way, or a stop at the Falls, fills the gap.
Where does the car stop in the Old Town?
The Old Town's streets are narrow and busy on summer weekends, with pedestrians and horse-drawn carriages sharing the road. The chauffeur stops at the hotel entrance where it is legal and safe, and otherwise at the nearest legal point, then walks the bags in. We describe specific driveways or loading zones only where verified, so if the hotel asks you to use a particular door, add it to the notes. Fifteen minutes of waiting is included at hotel pickups, then 15-minute blocks; on check-out day, settle the bill before the pickup time so the car is not waiting on a queue at the desk.
Which mistakes spoil a Prince of Wales weekend?
- Arriving at noon on a Friday in July without a plan. Rooms may not be ready and Queen Street is crowded; plan lunch first.
- Booking tea and a tasting on the same tight afternoon. Give each its own time.
- Asking a sedan to carry a weekend of shopping. Choose an SUV for the trip home, and sealed, unopened purchases are welcome in the trunk.
- Leaving the return to "we'll call when we're ready". Book a time; you can always move it.
- Forgetting theatre times. Shaw performances fix your evening; build the car around them.
How should check-out day and the trip home be planned?
Check-out is where weekends unravel: a late breakfast, a final walk on Queen Street, a winery that wants one more visit, then the QEW on a Sunday afternoon. Decide the order before the weekend. If you want a last tasting, book the return as an hourly block starting at check-out, so the chauffeur collects you and the bags at the hotel, waits at the winery and drives you home. If you only want to go home, choose either a late-morning departure, which usually beats the eastbound Sunday rush, or an evening departure after 7 p.m. Leave bags with the front desk if the car is coming later than the hotel's check-out time.
Which vehicle suits a Prince of Wales arrival?
| Occasion | Vehicle | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Couple's weekend | Business sedan | Quiet and sufficient |
| Anniversary or proposal | First-class sedan | S-Class or equivalent |
| Family of up to six | SUV | Room for bags and shopping |
| Small executive group | First-class executive Sprinter | Six captain's chairs |
| Wedding guests | Sprinter luxury van | Twelve seats, one run |
What about older guests and mobility?
Many Prince of Wales guests are celebrating with parents or grandparents. The chauffeur helps passengers in and out, walks bags to the desk and folds and stows a wheelchair or walker for passengers who can transfer to a seat. For a passenger who stays seated in a wheelchair or uses a scooter, we have a wheelchair-accessible vehicle; book it in advance and describe the chair at booking. Ask the hotel about level access and lifts when booking the room, and tell us about any mobility needs so the right vehicle, often an SUV with a higher seat, is sent.
Can you combine the hotel with the Falls or a US flight?
Yes. The Niagara Parkway runs about 22 km south to Niagara Falls, so a morning at the Falls or a night at a Falls hotel fits easily; our sibling post on the Sheraton on the Falls covers that end. Some guests fly home from Buffalo. Every passenger then needs a passport or another accepted document; check CBSA and US CBP. The chauffeur plans the bridge crossing around current waits and allows margin for the airport.
What does the fare include?
We do not publish prices. The reservation engine shows the fixed, all-in fare before you confirm: chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR tolls on the planned route, airport fees on Pearson pickups and gratuity, with HST shown separately. What changes it: the vehicle class, distance and time, stops on the way, waiting beyond the included allowance and the date. Child seats and meet and greet are available at booking. Our how our fares work page explains each item.
How do you plan the whole trip in one place?
Our travel desk works with BookingWorldwide.net on flights, hotels and packages and can add the chauffeured legs to the same itinerary, which helps when relatives fly in from several countries. The car is booked directly on TorontoBlackLimousine.com through our reservation engine. Cancelling more than 72 hours before pickup costs nothing; 72 hours or less is 10 %, 48 hours or less is 50 %, and 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100 %, measured from the scheduled pickup. Our Niagara-on-the-Lake city page has more on the town, and our post on Niagara-on-the-Lake hotels by car compares the town's other stays.
