A car service to Sherway Gardens covers about 20 km from downtown Toronto (20 to 30 minutes on the Gardiner) and about 15 km from Toronto Pearson (15 to 25 minutes down Highway 427). The centre is at 25 The West Mall in Etobicoke. Book one way, or keep an hourly chauffeur (3-hour minimum) who waits, holds the bags and drives you on. More on the area: car service in Etobicoke.
Why use a car service to Sherway Gardens?
Sherway Gardens is the west end's big upscale mall, on the southwest corner of The Queensway and The West Mall, according to its visitor information. It sits beside one of Toronto's most complicated interchanges, where the Gardiner Expressway, the QEW and Highway 427 knot together, and a missed exit costs ten minutes of looping.
A car service to Sherway Gardens removes the interchange, the parking decks and the long walk from the far end of a lot. That matters most for visitors staying downtown, for Pearson travellers with a few spare hours, and for west-end families with older relatives or small children. The rest of this post covers drive times, the drop-off, three useful itineraries and the mistakes we see.
How far is Sherway Gardens from downtown and from Pearson?
Typical planning figures; the reservation engine quotes your exact route and fare.
| From | Distance | Typical drive | How the chauffeur gets there |
|---|---|---|---|
| Union Station / Financial District | about 20 km | 20 to 30 min | Gardiner Expressway west to the 427 exit |
| Liberty Village / King West | about 15 km | 15 to 25 min | Gardiner west |
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ) | about 15 km | 15 to 25 min | Highway 427 south, Sherway Gardens exit |
| Central Etobicoke (Islington and Bloor) | about 5 km | 5 to 10 min | The East Mall or Bloor and the 427 |
| Mississauga City Centre | about 15 km | 15 to 25 min | Highway 403 or the QEW eastbound |
| Oakville | about 25 km | 20 to 30 min | QEW east, Evans Avenue exit |
The weak point is the Gardiner westbound on weekday afternoons; the QEW eastbound from Oakville is slow in the morning rush.
Where does the chauffeur drop you and wait?
The centre's own directions describe three ways in by car: from Pearson via the 427 south and the Sherway Gardens exit, from downtown via the Gardiner west and exit 139, and from Oakville and Burlington via the QEW and the Evans Avenue exit. A chauffeur knows all three and picks one based on traffic.
At booking, tell us the store you want first. The chauffeur sets you down at the nearest entrance, then waits in a legal spot rather than circling. The official page notes that Guest Services is near Door 7, which makes Door 7 a handy fallback meeting point if you lose track of where you came in. Otherwise agree on any entrance and text ten minutes before you are ready to leave.
Do I avoid the parking decks entirely?
Yes. According to the visitor page, Sherway has opened three newer parking decks with more than 2,700 spaces between them: one off The Queensway on the northwest side, an east deck off Highway 427 beside Eataly, and a south deck off The West Mall and Evans Avenue. Decks are convenient on a quiet weekday, but on a December Saturday the queue to get in and the queue to get out are where the time goes.
With a chauffeur you never enter a deck. You step out at the entrance, and the car comes back to an entrance when you are done. The centre also posted a notice about repairs to its east parkade in late summer 2026, which is a good example of why a driver who checks the current situation each morning beats a remembered route.

What does a west-end hourly shopping day look like?
A four-hour plan for two visitors staying downtown:
- 10:00 Pickup at a downtown hotel. Gardiner west, about 20 km.
- 10:30 Drop at the entrance nearest the first stores.
- 10:30 to 12:30 Shopping; one bag run to the car.
- 12:30 Lunch, perhaps at Eataly inside the centre.
- 13:30 On to the lake: Humber Bay Park and the Etobicoke waterfront, about 6 km, 10 to 15 minutes.
- 14:00 Back downtown along Lake Shore Boulevard, 20 to 30 minutes.
That fits a 4-hour hourly chauffeur booking with time to spare, and nobody pays for parking twice.
Is Sherway a good stop on the way to or from Pearson?
It is one of the best. Sherway is closer to Pearson than to downtown, about 15 km straight down the 427, so it works for a layover of six hours or more and for a last morning before a flight. Your luggage stays locked in the trunk while you shop.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks the flight and meets you at the pre-arranged pickup area on the arrivals curb (Toronto Pearson), with 30 minutes of included waiting after Canadian and US flights and 60 minutes after other international arrivals. For departures, leave Sherway three hours before an international flight on a weekday; the 427 northbound is short but jams near the 401. Our Pearson airport page covers the terminals.
Which hotels make Sherway an easy shopping trip?
Guests at the airport hotels are closest. Our Pearson airport hotels page covers the Dixon Road and Airport Corporate Centre properties, most of them 10 to 20 minutes from Sherway by car. Guests in Mississauga have a similar run; see Mississauga hotels.
Downtown guests should treat Sherway as a half-day outing, or combine it with a Pearson departure on the last day. If you are still choosing where to stay, our travel desk can arrange the hotel and flights, and the chauffeur bookings sit on the same account.
Who usually books a driver to Sherway?
From the dispatch board, four kinds of client:
- Visitors downtown who want a west-end mall without learning the Gardiner.
- Pearson travellers with a long layover or an afternoon flight.
- Etobicoke and Mississauga families taking an older parent out for a few hours of shopping and lunch.
- Corporate guests at the airport-area offices with a gap between meetings.
The older-parent case is common. Sherway's visitor page says wheelchairs are available from the Security Office at Door 3 and from Guest Services near Door 7, which pairs well with a chauffeur who drops at the door. We have a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, available when booked in advance; for passengers who can transfer to a seat, we fold and stow a walker or wheelchair.
Which vehicle should I book?
- Business sedan or Tesla Model Y: two people and a few bags.
- SUV: up to six passengers and four suitcases; the right choice with airport luggage or a stroller.
- Premier luxury SUV: the same space with a more refined cabin for clients.
- Sprinter or luxury van: groups and tour parties.
Pets are not allowed in the centre except service animals, according to the visitor page, so leave the dog at home; for the car itself, pets need prior approval: request it at booking and wait for written confirmation. Service animals are welcome; mention them at booking.
Can I reach Sherway by transit instead?
Yes. The visitor page lists TTC routes 123 Shorncliffe, 80 Queensway and 15 Evans, a MiWay route from Mississauga, and the Long Branch GO station connecting to the 123 bus (TTC). For a solo shopper on a light day that is perfectly reasonable.
It is less reasonable with heavy shopping, children, a parent who walks slowly, or a flight to catch. Buses on The Queensway are slow in traffic, and the connection from Long Branch adds a transfer. A car door-to-door is the honest answer for those trips, and an hourly chauffeur adds the waiting.
What mistakes slow down a Sherway trip?
- Missing the 427 exit. Easy for a visitor, costly in time; the chauffeur takes care of it.
- Agreeing no meeting entrance. Sherway has many doors; pick one, or use Door 7.
- Booking one way and hailing a ride home at rush hour. The Gardiner eastbound will not be kind.
- Choosing a sedan with airport suitcases. Shopping bags plus luggage need an SUV.
- Forgetting the weather. Snow on the Gardiner doubles some drive times; leave a cushion.
When is the best time to shop at Sherway by car?
Weekday mornings after opening are the easiest: the 427 has cleared its inbound rush, the entrances are quiet and the chauffeur can wait close by. Weekday afternoons are fine for shopping but awkward for the trip home, because the Gardiner eastbound and the 427 northbound both slow from about 3:30 pm. Saturday afternoons, the December weekends and Boxing Week are the peak; arrive at opening or accept a longer drop-off.
Winter changes the maths. Lake-effect snow and freezing rain hit the Gardiner and the QEW first, and a 20-minute run can take twice as long. Our cars carry winter tires from November to April, and the chauffeur leaves earlier on a bad-weather day rather than hurrying. In summer, overnight construction on the Gardiner sometimes spills into the morning, which the chauffeur checks on Ontario 511 before leaving. The centre's own hours change on holidays, so check them on its site before you fix the return time.
Can I add another west-end stop in the same booking?
Yes, which is the point of the hourly option. Popular additions from Sherway:
- The Etobicoke waterfront at Humber Bay, about 6 km.
- Square One in Mississauga, about 15 km, for a second mall.
- Toronto Premium Outlets in Halton Hills, about 40 km west, for open-air outlets.
- Dinner on The Kingsway or in Bloor West Village, 10 to 15 minutes.
For other shopping days, see our posts on Yorkdale by car and the Eaton Centre pickup points.
How is the fare set?
We do not publish prices on this site. The reservation engine shows a fixed, all-in fare before you confirm: chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR tolls on the planned route (included), airport fees where they apply and gratuity, with HST shown separately. No meter and no surge.
What moves the figure: vehicle class, distance and time, hourly length (3-hour minimum for sedans, SUVs, vans and Sprinters, then 30-minute blocks), date and time of day, and add-ons such as child seats or meet and greet, which are available at booking.
How do I book a car to Sherway Gardens?
