From downtown Toronto, every day: typical distance and drive time, fixed fare before you book. All routes →

CN Tower tickets come in several types: timed General Admission (main and lower observation levels with the glass floor), The Top add-on, Flex tickets with no set entry time, VIP and Premier priority options, and combos such as Sea the Sky and Toronto CityPASS. Children 2 and under are free, and tickets sell up to 30 days ahead. Cars set down on Bremner Boulevard.

Our CN Tower car service page covers distances, routes and the Bremner Boulevard drop-off in detail. This post answers the question that comes first for most visitors, which ticket to buy, and then shows how each choice changes the way you should book the car. Prices are on the tower's site and change often; we describe what each ticket includes instead.

Which CN Tower tickets can you buy?

According to the CN Tower's ticket page, the main options are:

  • Timed General Admission: the Main Observation Level at 346 m (114 storeys) and the Lower Observation Level at 342 m (113 storeys), with the glass floor, the OverView lean-out area, the outdoor terrace and the Artmosphere interactive art space.
  • The Top + Timed General Admission: adds the highest observation platform, 33 storeys above the main level. The tower says it can also be added later if space allows.
  • Flex tickets: you choose the date and arrive at whatever time suits you, with The Top as an option.
  • VIP Tour: a guided 90-minute visit with priority check-in and access.
  • Premier: front-of-line check-in and the next available slot to The Top.
  • Combos: Sea the Sky with Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, and Toronto CityPASS covering five attractions over nine days.

Should you buy a timed or a Flex ticket?

A timed ticket fixes your entry slot; the tower says you can stay for the rest of the day once in. That is perfect when the day is planned. A Flex ticket removes the slot, which matters when something outside your control decides the timing: an arrival flight, a business meeting that may run long, a toddler's nap, fog that may or may not lift. For car planning the rule is simple. With a timed ticket, book the pickup so you arrive 20 to 30 minutes before the slot. With Flex, book an hourly chauffeur and go when the moment is right.

Is The Top worth adding?

The Top is the highest observation platform in the Western Hemisphere, according to the tower, and on a clear day the view runs far across Lake Ontario. On a hazy or low-cloud day, the extra height can mean looking at the inside of a cloud. Two practical tips: check the sky from the car on the way down the Gardiner, and remember the tower says The Top can be added later if space is available. If you are visiting in the evening, the city lights from The Top are spectacular; if you are short on time, the main level and glass floor are the essentials. Families with young children often find the main level is plenty; teenagers and photographers are the ones who insist on going higher, so ask the group before you buy rather than at the top of the lift.

When does a VIP or Premier ticket make sense?

Priority tickets earn their place when time is the constraint. A delegate with ninety minutes between sessions at the convention centre across the street, a family with a flight to catch, grandparents who cannot stand in a summer lift queue, a proposal where you do not want to wait in a crowd. The VIP Tour adds a guide, which suits curious visitors and corporate groups entertaining clients. Pair either with a car that is waiting when you come down and the whole visit fits inside a three-hour hourly booking with room to spare.

Do combos and CityPASS change the transport plan?

Yes. Sea the Sky pairs the tower with Ripley's Aquarium of Canada next door, so the car does one drop and one pickup with a walk in between. Toronto CityPASS spreads five attractions across nine days, often across the city, which is where a car does real work: the tower and aquarium are together, but Casa Loma is about 6 km north and the Toronto Zoo about 40 km east. Grouping CityPASS attractions by area and booking one hourly block per area saves a lot of time.

How far ahead should you buy CN Tower tickets?

The tower says tickets can be bought up to 30 days in advance. Summer weekends, holiday weeks and sunset slots sell first. Buy the ticket before you book the car, then book the car around the slot. If you are flying in, do not buy a timed slot for the arrival day unless your flight lands with plenty of margin; a Flex ticket or a slot the next morning is safer. Children aged 2 and under are free, according to the tower, but still count as passengers for the car, and infant seats are available at booking.

Where exactly does the car drop you?

The tower directs visitors to its main entrance off Bremner Boulevard, between the Rogers Centre and Ripley's Aquarium, and lists an accessible drop-off on Bremner just south of the tower. Our chauffeurs set down there unless you ask otherwise. On event nights the pickup may be a short walk away, and the chauffeur texts the exact spot. If your hotel is on Front Street, you can also walk the SkyWalk or the John Street bridge and have the car collect you afterwards. Our parent page describes the approach roads in full.

How long should you book the car for each ticket?

Rough planning blocks from the tower's door:

  1. Timed General Admission: 60 to 90 minutes inside.
  2. With The Top: add 30 to 45 minutes for the extra lift.
  3. VIP Tour: 90 minutes guided, plus time to linger.
  4. Sea the Sky: two and a half to four hours for both attractions.
  5. 360 Restaurant: about two hours for the meal plus observation-level time.

Add the drive: about 1 km and 5 to 10 minutes from the Financial District, about 5 km and 12 to 20 minutes from Yorkville, and about 27 km and 25 to 45 minutes from Toronto Pearson (YYZ). A three-hour hourly booking covers most single-ticket visits.

Which mistakes do visitors make with tower tickets?

  • Buying a sunset slot on the same evening as a sold-out Rogers Centre game, then sitting in event traffic on Bremner.
  • Booking a timed ticket for the day they land from overseas.
  • Forgetting that the restaurant includes observation-level access and buying both.
  • Leaving large bags in hand; keep them in the car rather than carrying them through security.
  • Booking a one-way pickup at a fixed time and then queueing for the lift longer than expected.

Which ticket suits a family, a couple or a delegate?

Different visitors land on different tickets. A family of five visiting in July usually does best with Sea the Sky booked for a morning slot: the aquarium and the tower together, children fresh, and the car collecting everyone at lunchtime before the afternoon crowds. A couple on an anniversary often skips the ticket entirely and books the revolving restaurant, which includes the observation levels after the meal. A convention delegate with a gap between sessions benefits most from Premier, which shortens the queues, plus a car that is already on Bremner when the visit ends. A week-long visitor with a list of sights is the natural CityPASS buyer, provided the car is planned area by area.

What accessibility points matter for ticket holders?

The tower lists an accessible drop-off on Bremner Boulevard, and its own accessibility page covers what is available inside; read it before you choose a slot. We also have a wheelchair-accessible vehicle: book it in advance and tell us at booking about the wheelchair or scooter, so the right car is held for your date. For passengers who can transfer to a seat, the chauffeur can also fold and stow a wheelchair or walker and set it up again at the kerb, and SUVs give the most room. Mention mobility needs in the booking notes so the chauffeur picks the closest legal set-down point and allows extra time at both ends.

Is the tower worth it on a cloudy day?

Sometimes. Low cloud can blank the view completely, while broken cloud makes dramatic photographs. If you hold a Flex ticket and an hourly car, you can move the tower to later in the day and do Casa Loma or the St. Lawrence Market first. With a timed ticket you are committed to the slot, so check the forecast the evening before and adjust the rest of the day around it rather than the tower.

What else is near the tower for a half day?

The tower sits in a tight cluster: the aquarium next door, the Rogers Centre, the convention centre across Bremner and the waterfront a few minutes south. For something more thrilling than a ticket, our EdgeWalk planning post covers the walk around the outside of the pod. Visitors staying a few nights should look at the Financial District hotels, all within a few minutes of the tower.

Can you book the tower as part of a longer trip?

Yes. Many visitors build the tower into a Toronto week with Niagara Falls, wine country and a Blue Jays game. Our travel desk can book flights and hotels alongside the car so arrivals, tickets and transport line up. Destination Toronto lists what else is on, and the City of Toronto posts road closures on toronto.ca.

How do you book a car around your CN Tower ticket?

Buy the ticket, then open the reservation engine. Choose one-way for a straight drop or hourly for a sightseeing block, enter the pickup, the CN Tower, the date and a pickup time that lands you 20 to 30 minutes before a timed slot, and note the ticket type in the booking notes. The engine shows the fixed, all-in fare before you confirm.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Which CN Tower ticket should I buy?

For most first-time visitors, timed General Admission covers the main and lower observation levels, the glass floor and the terrace. Add The Top on a clear day for the highest platform. Choose Flex if your timing is uncertain, VIP or Premier if time is short, and a combo or CityPASS if you are visiting several attractions.

Can I stay as long as I like with a timed CN Tower ticket?

The tower says a timed ticket sets your entry time and you may stay for the remainder of the day once inside. For car planning, book the pickup so you arrive 20 to 30 minutes before the slot, and use an hourly booking if you do not know how long you will stay.

How far in advance can you buy CN Tower tickets?

The CN Tower says tickets can be purchased up to 30 days in advance. Summer weekends, holidays and sunset slots sell out first. Buy the ticket before booking your car so the pickup time can be built around the slot.

Do kids need a CN Tower ticket?

The tower says children aged 2 and under receive complimentary admission. Older children need a ticket. For the car, every child counts as a passenger, and infant, convertible and booster seats are available at booking.

Does dinner at 360 include the CN Tower observation deck?

Yes. The tower says dining at 360 Restaurant includes the lift to the restaurant and access to the Main and Lower Observation Levels after your meal, so restaurant guests do not need a separate admission ticket. A minimum spend on food applies; check the tower's site for details.

Where do cars drop off for the CN Tower?

At the main entrance off Bremner Boulevard, between the Rogers Centre and Ripley's Aquarium, with an accessible drop-off on Bremner just south of the tower. On busy event nights the pickup point may be a short walk away, and your chauffeur texts you the exact location.

Is The Top worth it at the CN Tower?

On a clear day, yes: it is the tower's highest observation platform, 33 storeys above the main level. On a low-cloud day the view can disappear. The tower says The Top can be added later if space allows, so you can decide once you see the weather.

Why TorontoBlackLimousine.com

What separates a private chauffeur from a ride with a stranger

The standard our chauffeurs work to is on the chauffeurs page; what each transfer costs, and why, is on the rates page; when an hourly booking beats a one-way trip is in this guide.

01

A private chauffeur, by the hour

Keep one black car and one chauffeur for three hours or the whole day: a Bay Street meeting, lunch in Yorkville, a site visit in Vaughan, a Niagara tasting, the flight home from Pearson. The car waits outside; you never queue for another ride.

02

A fixed fare, booked direct

The engine prices the exact address, date and vehicle before you confirm - 407 ETR tolls when used, airport fees and gratuity included. No surge after a Leafs game, no meter on the Gardiner, and no aggregator taking a cut.

03

Flights and trains, tracked

Pearson Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 and Billy Bishop flights are tracked from take-off; VIA, GO and UP Express arrivals at Union Station from departure. Thirty minutes free on Canadian and US flights, sixty on other international arrivals.

04

Chauffeurs who read Toronto traffic

Licensed for passengers for hire, screened and suited; routes chosen on live traffic across the Gardiner, the DVP, the 401 collectors and express lanes, the 427, the 407 ETR and the QEW - and around the lane closures and game-day crowds downtown.

05

Airports, Union Station, jets and the border

Pearson, Billy Bishop, Hamilton, Waterloo, Buffalo, Niagara Falls NY and Detroit; Union Station and the GO and VIA stations; private aviation; and cross-border trips over the Peace Bridge, Rainbow Bridge, Lewiston-Queenston or into Detroit.

06

A desk that answers

Dispatch staffed around the clock by phone, chat and WhatsApp; a coordinator for weddings, proms, party buses, delegations, trade shows and corporate accounts.
